Zaxby's has been my favorite fast food place for years. All experiences have been pleasant up until this one. I want to start by saying the food wasn't the issue, the food was of perfect quality. The customer service we received tonight was unacceptable. I'm kicking myself for not paying attention to her name (she's African American with very short hair) I felt awkward and uncomfortable. I work at a very busy restaurant 40+ hours a week, so I try to be as decent to people & as easy as possible. I understand we all have bad days but I don't understand being rude to someone for literally no reason. She forgot to give us our drink and was rude again about that, then my boyfriend said "thank you so much, you have a great night." And nothing. Lol wow. First of all I want to compliment the entire staff here! Excellent job with missives of people. There is no way anyone could have handled the restaurant better. If you are on your break do not go! If you are a complainer, wait until the kinks fall into place, or do not go! When you complain and huff and puff you look dumb!! It was appalling to me how some of the adults treated these employees 3 days after opening. Really? Did you think you were getting your food in 5 minutes? Food was excellent. My son said chicken fingers blew Chic Fil A away! My blackened chicken salad was perfect! The manager was hustling and had everything under control the best he could from my perspective. It was somewhere between and 3-4 and I went 4 because majority of food was pretty good. chicken finger sandwich -pretty good Kicking chicken sandwich was not properly assembled. The hot sauce was all over lettuce and tomato not the crispy chicken. If it was on the actual chicken it would have been great. The fried white cheddar bites was excellent. And the wings with sweet and spicy sauce was excellent also. Pretty busy at restaurant when ordered took about 15min to get food not sure if that is usual or just because it new to area. I tried this place twice in 1 week and the first time the woman at the cash register clearly was not trained properly when it came out to $127 for some chicken and fries for 2 people. She also couldn't read numbers very well I guess when our food didn't come out for nearly 20 minutes, and only because she put a different number on the receipt vs the actual number for the table. When we finally got the food the chicken was ok, but fries and so call grilled cheese (more like cheese on soggy cold bread) were terrible. Second time around was 45 minutes in a drive-thru. And that is unacceptable! No matter if it had only been open a day, a week, or a month. It's not ok. I've worked at a busy fast food for it's grand opening, and I assure you there was never anyone waiting longer than 15 minutes. Stopped here on Saturday evening at 930p and there was no line st the drive thru. A good thing. I pay $7.59 for a Cesar chicken salad. I feel there was the standard amount of chicken. Although most everyone I know has eaten at a Zaxby's, I've never had the opportunity until they opened in Largo. The first time we ordered through their drive thru. Their food was made to order and it didn't feel like fast food although it's quickly prepared. Both my kids had their chicken sandwiches which were devoured in a matter of seconds. I had a grilled chicken salad which was also good. The second time, we ate inside. The wait was a little longer, but still fairly quick. I ordered the salad again, but my son ordered the wings and things. He loved this dish as well. We will continue to visit Zaxby's. read more

We went day 2 of opening. I won't knock them for the extremely long wait because at grand opening what can you expect they had everyone working however the food wasn't all that. It was nothing special. After all the wait the food was luke warm at best. Everyone raves about the sweet tea it was no better than a McDonalds or Chick-fil-A. I have been to this location several times now and have bought the same thing , chicken cobb salad every time with added chicken and tomatoes . This was my regular order . Well 2 days ago I got off of work in a different area (pinellas Park) and I have had a much better salad all together With the add on that was way more than I ever got at the Ulmerton location. Just opened and it's new to the area. Not real crazy about the food. I was kinda surprised by menu I was expecting more. The staff is really friendly. Restaurant is clean. There's a few TVs . A/C on high. The food would be much better with out the strong toppings. The wing sauce has a strong tang taste which I do not care for. The chicken was crispy and cooked nice the sauce ruins it. The fries are good if you can find one with out season salt all over it which really kills the taste. All food is covered in seasonings that are too strong that hide the taste. If you have good quality tasty food these strong toppings ruin it. Werd to see that they charge for sauces. Only one soda machine really need a second. And the machine has sticky button that makes the soda over spill splashing all over you. I did it, and saw four more people do the same. After you order they give you a number to bring to table. Then one plate at a time they bring the food out. Wasting employees time by walking out several times just put together on tray and bring out. The milkshakes are rough we tried chocolate and I wasn't expecting chunks of chocolate to be in it. Makes me nervous when you sip your drink and unexpected stuff comes up. It's a busy place drive thru was backed up with cars going around building. It all needs to be adjusted maybe it will get better. The Zaxbys in South Carolina seem much better. read more

This a fast food place with good food. They come with the sauces you'd expect, but if you want to be blown away with zing be prepared to be "not so zinged". This is good food, I liked it and have been back twice more (3 times total) and I have no compliant. Except I like really bold taste (I'm from Texas) and while this is good it is made to be a blank to be personalized to your taste. Sneak some hot sauce in and some horseradish and mix it with some of the sauces, I did and I liked it. The service was very good, the place was clean and "cool" and in August in Florida this is very important. My most important factor is it is easy to get into and out of and it is very convenient. Try it you'll like it....bring your special "sauce" and fill up. Oh yeah good tea also. read more

She made it right by giving me a correct order. I have had similar problems with other chains but the fix was complicated and time consuming. I placed a to-go order on 8/7 for 2 orders of 10 wings each. 10 Wimpy and 10 BBQ, along with toast. When I got home with the order the wings were all plain...no coating at all. $26+ dollars. Such a great franchise, but I entered and got my order and food fast, solid counter customer service, food was good too.... But then I couldn't find (1) booth to sit in that wasn't dirty, probably 10 booths that had remnants of a earlier meal. It was 2:20p And only 4 other patrons in the restaurant, I sure hope they get the basics down of cleaning the seating area before I return. A lil disappointing...... I have enjoyed Zaxbys for 20 years in GA and didn't grow up near a Chick Fila. So when one opened nearby on Ulmerton, I was excited to get my seasoned fries, Zac Sauce & Sweet Tea fix. The zalads are very good, plenty to eat with a price of garlic rubbed Texas toast on top. The girls at the drive thru are very quick & efficient. Chicken strips are seasoned perfectly, however they've shrunken a lot over the years. Any bad reviews here are mainly from the Chick Fila bland fan club. read more

This is a new place on Ulmerton. Overall just ok for fast food. The dipping sauce for chicken fingers is truly awful. For the wings the sauce is a little better. The atmosphere is nicer than a typical fast food place. In keeping with the atmosphere the prices were higher too. Not much of a bargain. Less than stellar food quality. One of our favorite places in Georgia. We were so happy they were opening here. My husband waited in line over an hour on opening day for chicken fingers and they were great, good size juicy, cooked as we remembered. The staff did a great job with all the customers. Since then, however, we have been back twice and we're not as happy. The size of the 'fingers' have definitely decreased considerably.(probably by 1/3 to 1/2) We were anxious to recommend this to friends, but unless they go back to original size, we will not, and regretably we will not be coming here as often as we had planned. Wasn't impressed at all. I work close by and this was the first day the drive thru line wasn't long so I decided to give it a try (Still somehow ended up waiting 15 minutes in a short line). I liked the seasoning on the chicken fingers but they were EXTREMELY dry to the point where I almost couldn't eat them. Dipping them in sauce gave them a little bit of life back so that they were edible. Speaking of sauce I asked for honey mustard instead of the zaxbys sauce, she paused for a few seconds and said yeah sure. I noticed later that she charged me for replacing the sauce which was kindof annoying. Anyway I'll give them another chance. They are brand new so maybe they just need some time. read more

The service at the counter was very good. The lady working was excellent and very helpful with kids she came to our table and made sure everything was good and if we needed anything. The place was clean and the set up is nice. Chicken wings were very good fries and slaw. Barbecue sauce is the way to go if you like it. All the other we had was good also no issues. The food was very fresh and hot. We had a five piece chicken tender meal it was a lot of chicken, came with fries coleslaw and it included the drink in the price it was 8.60 ish per meal. It took about 10 minutes or a little longer for us to get food. I would suggest that they give people a plastic number to take to their table and have a staff m member bring out the order when ready like they do at Culver's. Also train the employees to keep the sink clean behind the counter near cashiers so it sparkles each day. Dirty sink creates bad impression but that is a sign of a lazy manager on staff. Sometimes you just gotta eat some fried food, I mean the 7 year old wants chicken fingers ever 3 days it seems. I'd say Zaxby's is to the chicken industry as Culvers is to the burger industry. The outside appearance of these establishments is very inviting. The experience inside is a bit different. The interior is nice but the menu board itself is cheesy and I feel like I'm ordering at a 7-Eleven or gas station. The food overall was just OK, nothing special. The fried chicken and fries were decent, basic. We also tried the grilled chicken sandwich which I thought was the best thing we ordered, although my son didnt care for it for some reason and wouldnt eat it. The wife hated all of it, thought it was worse than PDQ which we also feel is overrated. The 7 year old wasnt really impressed with her chicken fingers either. There seemed to be alot of hype about this one opening in Largo, after eating here we dont know why. I kept hearing about Zaxby's sauce. This tasted BBQ-ish Thousand Island-ish with ALOT of pepper in it. Not sure what the big deal is. The average customer here was, well, lets just say the exact opposite of a fitness model. I hate to say that but honestly the clientele made me further realize just how bad we were eating. They do have salads on the menu but we didnt see anyone with one. Like PDQ, we all felt terrible within 10 minutes after finishing but we ate mostly fried everything, so what do you expect. We went to Target afterwards, which was good because 3 out of the 4 of us would not have made it home in time if you know what I mean. So overall this is just another quick stop if you're hungry.
