Grilled House Zalad. No cheese and no Texas toast. I try to make it a little healthier.
    Jessica G.

I try not to eat a lot of fast food, and I hardly ever get salads from fast food places, but Zaxby's is one place I feel comfortable ordering a salad. I always stick with the Grilled House Zalad and I take off the cheddar cheese and Texas toast. It may take some of the fun out of it, but I just feel better about eating a salad when it isn't covered with cheese and certainly when it isn't paired with buttery toast. However, the toast is FANTASTIC... The prices are a little higher than I'd like for fast food, but I can't complain really with the quantity and quality. I do love their chicken tenders with Zaxby's signature sauce when I'm feeling the need to splurge (on calories). This location has always been clean and is, for the most part, quick. The drivethru can take a while, but it seems as though the food is always fresh.

Poor service for dine in today (Sunday 8/8/21 @noon). Guy behind the counter was short, rude, mumbled, kept turning his head like he could hear us and never said thanks or gave any pleasantries. My order included wings which I asked for ranch as a dipping sauce. He shorted me and when I went back up to the counter and asked for them this guy said he typically charges for that. Zaxby's always has great food, but service at this location today was a clear miss.

Cobb. Solid $7.99 extra chicken $2.50

Food and service good. Store slightly dirty. Always ding a store for not keeping it 100% clean. Love the food here.

Y'all charge entirely too high to serve me near-room temperature food. Naw dawg. Y'all gotta step it up.

We were seated immediately at a clean, spacious table. The restaurant soon filled up around us, and though I could see how popular it indeed was, the tables were well spaced and it wasn't too loud. We began with the red pepper hummus with pita bread, and it was absolutely delicious. Smooth, rich, full of flavor. The portion was generous -- more than enough for two people. We ended up ordering an additional side of pita bread to finish it off, and practically scraped the plate, it was that good. For my main, I had the Mediterranean grilled chicken sub. Like with the hummus, the portion was huge and every bite was bursting with flavor. The chicken was well seasoned and it was one of those perfectly assembled, bursting to the seams with toppings, kind of sandwiches that make you go "oh yeah, this is why people order sandwiches!" Everyone there was friendly, and our server was super attentive. The menu was also pretty expansive, so we won't be running out of things to try anytime soon. All in all, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Our waitress was lovely and we simply asked her to take it away and my mom was going to finish her salad. At no point did we ask to get it for free, she simply did not want it as it turned her stomach. A few minutes later this old woman with short grey hair comes over and proceeds to tell my senior mother that she should've told her at the first bite; and that half the burger was eaten. She then said she would put the two raw bites in the middle back on the grill. First of all, two bites were taken, not half the burger. Second of all, who puts a burger back on the grill after it's been eaten- that is nasty. Then! I say something about how rude this woman was after my mother walks out while I'm paying and this woman comes BACK out into the lobby and proceeds to start screaming and cursing at me that she wasn't rude to my MOM. She absolutely was rude. She's a piece of work. I come from a long line of restaurant owners and if you're so hard up that you have to argue with customers about the quality of your food, then maybe it's time to close. The best days of the Blue Zucc are behind them.

Just like dining in, they don't skimp. They pack the sandwich and the to go box full, it was more than enough for a filling and healthy lunch. I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria's loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn't strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items - a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap - held appeal. I ultimately went with the day's special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy - and new - the bistro was, I'm inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.

It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.
