We stopped by on a Friday at lunch. We specifically wanted to try the Taco Zalad that is being test marketed in our area. Hubby and I both got the salad with fried chicken and the chipotle (default) dressing. We did not add or delete any items. The salad was perfect !! Ingredients were fresh and the salad was delicious !!! This is the fast food salad that I have been craving. I would get this without the shell next time just to cut down on calories. The food was pretty good except for the fries being seasoned very unevenly and not great, the chicken was pretty good though. The service was not the best with the drive through person being very rude and making it seem like she had no interest at all taking our order, but when she told us to pull up to the door, the guy who brought us the food was nice but it was hard to like because of how the drive through worker mistreated us. Never a bad thing to say about Zaxby's. I realize that there are no Zaxby's in the DMV area, so naturally when I see one, I have to eat there. I came here on opening day and ordered some chicken that made it difficult for me to decide which I liked better, Zaxbys or Chick-fil-A. I had a sampler platter, which came with wings (with the bone), chicken strips, a buttered toast, crinkle fries, and sauces. Plus, a chocolate cookie milkshake. I'm not a huge fan of crinkle fries and usually associate them with cafeteria food, but these were some of the best I've had. The chicken strips were incredibly tender and fried well, and the Zaxbys sauce was awesome. The wings were also good, and you can choose from different sauces, but nothing amazing. I also had a lot of fun with the soda machine they have - one of those kinds where you can choose from a bunch of different flavors to mix with a large selection of different Coke brands. The milkshake was also good but sparse on the cookie bits - not too sweet and came with a generous dollop of whipped cream. The pricing is more expensive than you will find with other fast food places, but it's within the niche of the higher-quality, chicken fast food restaurant like Chick-fil-A. I would say I prefer the chicken here over Chick-fil-A's, but prefer Chick-fil-A's waffle fries. This place has a different vibe too, with comfort-food milkshake flavors such as banana pudding and birthday cake, and the food served on ordinary black disposable plates, rather than a logo-heavy packaging when opting for dining in. read more

I feel like it was more food for the amount I paid than I would have gotten at another location. Both times I've been through the drive thru has been pretty quick. I interacted with two different employees at the window and both were very friendly and dishing out compliments and had smiles on as big as can be (this was also at 10:45 when they were about to close). I have picked up Buffalo Wings from the drive through window at Zaxby's on Hillsborough Rd about 6 times. I always order the Traditional wings with sauces on the side. These wings are crispy, delicious and huge. Every order has had half flats and half drumsticks. They include crispy celery sticks and ranch dressing. One minor complaint is that the cold celery is often packaged with the hot wings affecting both adversely. BTW this is a great keto meal. read more

I seen this Rude cashier today at 1:54 walking away while i was ordering and she didn't greet me when i came in this particular store. Ever since my first visit to the Zaxby's restaurant on Hillsborough Road shortly after their construction, the employees there have provided me and my wife with MORE than this... they have always treated us like family. Warm smiles and engaging conversation are a staple of this location. The food (and the sweet tea that I'm particularly fond of) is always fresh and delicious. Our wait time is always minimal. Our order is always perfectly accurate. I love Zaxby's as a whole (it's been my favorite restaurant since 2003), but I would literally drive past a dozen of their other locations just for the atmosphere at this particular branch. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for great chicken, great customer service, and great friends. I had a Caesar salad and some buffalo wings, everyone else had tenders, mini chicken sandwiches and fries. I tasted theirs and it was good too. They give you a lot of food unlike other fast food chains. It was clean including the bathrooms and the service was great with friendly staff which is what I expect from my southern friends . We have to go through the drive thru the young lady had a nasty attitude, was not helpful and had NOpersonality at all! When I got my food it was horrible!!!! I ordered the combination of the boneless chicken wings and they were a hard , burnt and they just poured teriyaki sauce on top of them! My french fries were crispy so crispy that I had a hard time eating them my husband got plain chicken wing combo and you would think they had left the chicken wings in the grease overnight cooking! I ordered chicken strip meal(fries, drink, bread) Chicken strips should have been called small chicken chunks, maybe at most 1.5" long. Oh well, it was still chicken strips cant be but so bad. Wrong again, sucked. I have had microwavable hungry man chicken that tastes better. Not terrible by anymeans but just not good.... Fries, kinda bland, which was suprising considering it had season salt on them Very large selection of beverages Texas toast was actually good, but I mean come on, its freaking toast.... All in all for around $8 it was a pathetic meal. Why charge that much for what little you serve? Who goes to this place?? Hardees has a 5 peice chicken tender meal for $5 and it absolutely blows this crap out of the water. And dont even get me started on chik-filet vs this place..
