I purchased the new shrimp dinner today and it was the most disgusting excuse for a shrimp dinner I've ever experienced. The extremely small and soggy shrimp were tastless and rubbery. I really like Zaxby's chicken wings. They are so good and it's nice and fast. It's a very clean! When I first heard Zaxby's was coming to Deland my first thought was "what another chicken franchise isn't there enough options for chicken here". Having only experienced Zaxby's once before in St.Augustine I was definitely okay with the opening of this restaurant and was anxious to see if my first experience at Zaxby's could be repeated My first and only visit to this location was very positive even though it was a quick pass through the drive-thru. I opted for the five piece chicken fingers no fries no drink just chicken and a tub of Zaxby's sauce that I actually didn't open. This crispy fried chicken doesn't really any condiments, as advertised it's real chicken the service was fast and friendly, my order was correct, the prices seem reasonable and entering and exiting the restaurant was easy. I've been to this Zaxvy's about three times now and have yet to find an issue. I agree with others in that the staff is still learning, however, that doesn't hinder the fast service, fresh food, or the attitudes. The staff here is AMAZING. They are always cheerful and friendly. That goes a long way for me. I highly recommend their bone-in wings with Hot Honey Mustard sauce. I also have to say that I love the way their chicken fingers don't have too much breading! Workers are nice, dog friendly too. Tenders are always fresh, juicy and crispy. However the fries are always inconsistent.. sometimes they're not fresh. I always have to ask for extra seasoning on the fries because it's usually barely there, especially today there wasn't any seasoning, like no seasoning on the fries at all.. disappointing taking into account that I asked for extra and ended up with none. They do mess up sweet tea with unsweetened tea sometimes, those are my only complaints. read more

I love Zaxby's. They have great salads and a variety of sauce flavors. This location is good, but they're kind of slow and their freestyle coke machine is often out of many selections. On a positive note, the lobby and restrooms are very clean, which I've found to be a rare treat in the immediate area. The staff have always been extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, one of my favorite places in Deland so far! read more

I used to go to the Zaxbys in Orange City. It was fair, nothing more. I'd heard the one in Sanford was decent and I'd heard the Deland location was good too so I decided to try it. It was pretty much as I remembered. Good prices but mediocre food at best. Very few people were inside which I usually consider a bad sign and I just wasn't seeing anything grabbing me on the menu. I finally got a chicken tender sandwich with fries. It was pretty dry going down and I wasn't a fan of the sauce. My wife thought her meal was good. I guess it's just a matter of preference but I'll head down the road to Chick filet next time I need a chicken sandwich. read more

Very slow service. I've been late to work or class MULTIPLE times because it had taken 10-20 minutes just for boneless wings. Even when i've paid for sauces, my sauces are forgotten in the drive thru. Taste of food and food quality is very inconsistent. When the store first opened it was fabulous, but now the staff pays more attention to each other than the customers, the dining room or the bathrooms! The people at the counter act like you are bothering them when you ask for a box, they don't know their product very well because they have to continue to look at the menu like I do.
