I haven't eaten Zaxby's in years, but I visited recently and had the Southern Fried Shrimp, which are a special item for Spring 2024. The shrimp debuted on the menu around Lent and were still on the menu, even though Easter was a few weeks before. The shrimp are a bit small for me, but they are seasoned well. They taste great without sauce, but the hot honey mustard was flavorful (also an LTO). Not wanting fries, I tried the fried white cheddar bites- Hot and delicious for the ride home. They come with ranch, but I didn't use it, even for the bites that made it to my kitchen table. I placed my order on the app, and it was ready at the designated time. There's an order pickup area in the dining area, but tonight I was the only pickup order and it was behind the counter. I appreciate when the orders are behind the counter. The customer service was fine, and my order was correct (I checked before I left). I'll return- just wish the shrimp were on the menu for good! read more

Went this past week around 7:45. At the window. Waitiled 20minutes. Car in front of me waiting. Along with Uber eats , etc. finally went inside and asked about my order. NO one was waiting or paying attention to people inside. Had to speak up. Then was told they were out of salad. After I had already paid and now almost 30 minutes. That stated a fire storm inside. Everyone wanted to know what the heck! Didn't see a manager. If there was one they didn't speak up. Looked like 6 teens working. A you man did offer me something in exchange so I got two chicken finger orders. Got home, chicken was so dry, no slaw. Someone please straighten out this restaurant! I would like to suggest going through the drive-thru at this Zaxby's. This young lady, named Pre or Pri, was fabulous, like a great Southern young woman can really be. I was so impressed with the way she kept asking me more, like my order was going to be perfect when it came out! And it was. As for the food, I ate crazy tonight--two great egg rolls, the crispiest ever with lots of great cabbage with a good dipping sauce, and also crinkled fries. (Hey! It's what I wanted, so don't laugh!) after my visit tonight I will not be going back to this location. the cashier that was on the roster tonight was rude, disrespectful, snarky, and very immature. when I initially pulled up to the window the overhead sounded like they were playing instead of working so that should have been the first sign. the cashier proceeded to rush the words out of my mouth after saying one thing off of the menu. like she was rushing to get back to playing or doing whatever they were doing before. that is not professional and will not be going back. This establishment is filthy and disgusting. It smells disgusting in there, especially when you're right next to the drink machine in front of it. And I'm pretty sure I spotted black mold on the nozzle. I'm sitting there looking at my food and then staring at the walls then looking at the floor makes me feel so disgusted. There's napkins all over the floors it's just disgusting. We have tried giving this Zaxby's locations way more opportunities than we should have (our mistake) to be good, even mediocre would have been ok. The last time was the final time! We arrived an hour before closing and it was a mess, all of the tables were moved to the sides next to the booths and the chairs were on top of them, paper and trash and several areas where drinks had been spilled and had dried on the floor, a garbage can holder had the other side blocked off with rugs on top of it, should have walked out then. No one was up front so we waited a minute or two before anyone came up and even acknowledged us. While ordering we noticed the tea urns weren't on the drink counter. We asked if they had tea and was told they didn't. When we asked why, the girl that took our order said that it was too late to make more and tea was too expensive to make that late for it to possibly be wasted which totally surprised us when she said that. We asked if a manger was there and she "yes, somewhere", handed me the receipt and walked away. We noticed a lot in the more than 10 minutes we had been waiting for our food...Lots of laughter and noise coming from the back, an employee on her phone by the drive thru and another to the right of the opening going to the back. We started watching the guy in the cooking area through the opening after about 15 minutes and saw that he wiped his nose with his gloved hand and proceeded to keep working. That's when we got the attention of someone and asked for a manger. He finally came up and we told him we wanted to cancel our order and how displeased we were that we had been waiting almost 20 minutes, that the dining room was a mess, there was no tea, employees on their phones, that the restroom was in need of a lot of attention and that we could have looked passed that but when the cook wiped his nose with his hand and kept preparing food we were not eating anything from there. He didn't seemed to be concerned, we got a "sorry about that" and that was it. This is the worst Zaxby's and we have been to a lot as we do like Zaxbys food. This location has always had issues and basically hit or miss every time we go. It's a shame that we have to go to one that's in a less convenient location in order to get good food & service in a clean restaurant and to feel like our business is appreciated. DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS. I do not usually write negative reviews, as I have always worked in hospitality as well as the food and bev industry, and to be frank I try to be as supportive as possible to my fellow food and bev industry workers. I know it is not an easy industry, especially during these times- however, this time should motivate restaurants to do better. A few months ago was my last time eating at this Zaxby's because I got horrible food poisoning from a Wings and Things plate. I am servsafe certified and very savvy with DHEC guidelines- saying this to tell you that I know when I have food poisoning. It was the worst case I have ever had in my life. After that incident, I called the store the next day and was as nice as I could be. I did not write a review- instead I told the manager that I understood it happens and detailed to them what I ordered/when I ordered, in hopes they would correct. They offered a free meal that I politely turned down. Now, today. My husband went to this zaxby's for lunch during one of his busiest days. He was in meeting after meeting today. He literally ordered a chicken sandwich and got home to realize his sandwich was missing the chicken. Are you friggin kidding me?! Who is running this restaurant? This place needs to be shut down. Someone else who actually gives a shit should deserve to have this building to house a business. The level of service from this restaurant is utterly despicable. Described as a fast casual restaurant, Zaxby's is yet another amazing restaurant chain founded here in the South (in Athens, Georgia in 1990). With over six hundred restaurants scattered across thirteen states, they offer a delicious take on a chicken tender (especially in combination with their Zax Sauce). Their seasoned crinkle fries are great too although I tend to ask for extra seasoning on mine. Typically I alternate between the Big Zax Snak Meal (three chicken tenders, seasoned crinkle fries, cole slaw, and a piece of Texas toast) and a House Zalad (with fried or grilled chicken and yes spelled with a "z"). Their restaurants are decorated with eclectic pictures on the walls and miscellaneous stuff on shelves here and there. It all adds to the experience. The employees mumble when they speak. I have to repeat my order at the minimum 3 times for them to get my order correct. The drink cups are always sticky. Sloppy dress code. I stopped by for a salad and wings on my way home on Sat. Night. I ordered a salad and a ten piece boneless BBQ wings. I get it home and as I open the bag, I noticed something leaking. I realize the container which had my wings were drowning in BBQ sauce. it looked like they threw it in the bag and didn't care what it looked like. Probably the most incompetently staffed crew east of the Mississippi. No one seems to know what's going on. Just a bunch of clueless faces and deer in the headlights going in here. All that's going on is throwing food into a deep fryer yet even that seems too hard to do. Put in an order at 130, was told to pick it up at 150, and now its 240 and still nothing. Guess I need these experiences to remind me why I don't come here to begin with.... oh and of course after getting home I find I'm missing part of the order and the food is lukewarm from probably sitting in the warming lamp for God knows how long. read more

I am not giving more than 3 stars because of the professionalism of the young ladies taking orders at the drive through and at the window upon pickup. The young man working there was polite and courteous, but as I'm giving my order at the drive through, there was a lot of laughter going on, and I had to repeat my order a few times, and while waiting at the window for my food, the ladies were also waiting for the food to be prepped and were not being very professional while they were waiting. This location is absolutely swarming with stinging insects right now. It's scary to roll your window down in the drive through and scary to park and walk in. We go regularly, and it's been like this for a few weeks. Today, we ate inside, and I killed two wasps that were crawling on our table. The food has been inconsistent lately too.
