We stopped in during happy hour and scored a $5 margarita (huge win), and overall the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the original burger and it was incredible--especially with their signature Heavy's sauce. We also tried the onion rings, which I don't usually go for, but these completely changed my mind. They were super crunchy and packed with flavor. And of course, I have to mention--they're pet friendly with plenty of outdoor seating, which is always a huge plus for us. Ambiance is nice and inviting! Inside isn't very big just keep that in mind. This is a must-try spot!

We were quickly met by the hostess and were seated immediately outside which is what we wanted, so it was great. Service overall was pretty quick. The only reason I'm docking 1 star is because we ordered a bottle of rosé and it was not chilled or anything. Which is fine because we are not picky customers and it is pretty casual dining, and we just needed some ice, but it would have been nice to have the wine chilled. Especially because the price of the food and everything is high for a burger joint, but again, it wasn't a huge deal! The burger was delicious! I got the barburger and it had great flavors and a yummy sauce on it. The fries were also crisped to perfection and perfectly seasoned. The food was really good! I will definitely be returning!

If you're getting food, definitely try the blistered green beans, poutine, and the farmer's salad (which is like a Cobb salad/bowl, it's amazing) *but* my all-time fave is the fried chicken sandwich - it's honestly one of the best l've ever had in Charleston. Also, this place is huge so they were able to accommodate my friend's post-wedding party (about 20 people) at the last minute and we had a blast. Everywhere else we tried to go either didn't have the space for us or were closing so it totally made our night! We just made sure to call ahead to check and they were more than happy to have us - the bride was happy so you know it was good :) Bottom line, the Peacock is a local gem hidden in plain sight on East Bay and, as a local, it's become one of my top go-to's in Charleston. You can't beat the prices (seriously), ambience, quality, and awesome staff. They also have live music every week so they know how to keep it classy and lively at the same time. I highly recommend checking it out!

The staff went above and beyond, and the entire evening went off without a hitch. The bartenders were fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone's glasses were never empty (water included!). We also ordered one of our favorite dishes, the Farmer's Salad with Chicken, and it was absolutely delicious -- so good, in fact, that we dove right in and forgot to take a photo first! The food at the surrounding tables looked equally incredible; I'd especially recommend the cheese plate and the tuna. As a bonus, there's a nightclub on the second floor that gets lively on weekends, so the fun doesn't have to stop after dinner. If you haven't been to The Peacock yet, do yourself a favor and stop by -- great food, great drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

The converted house is airy, bright, and spacious. It seems that everyone had the same dishes on their tables for brunch, ie the shrimp & grits, and the fried chicken & waffles. I opted for the former, and pork dirty rice as I am a bit "fried chicken'd out" at this point of our southern trip. The grits were great, definitely lived up the hype. Meanwhile, the rice dish was really really spicy and I normally can handle spicy food quite well. Our server was so incredibly sweet and accommodating. She offered to bring another dish, or get me something else to go. She went above and beyond and I am super appreciative of her effort. Also tried the deviled eggs, which were just average and the oat griddle cakes, which were overly sweet. Overall, out of the four dishes we tried, I only liked one of them. I am a bit disappointed given its Michelin guide inclusion.

We could hear everything everyone else was saying, and it was difficult to hear others at our own table. The rock music did not help the cacophonous ambience. We ordered the deviled eggs which were tasty and the mushrooms. Some mushrooms came in a creamy sauce which tasted fine, but the other mushrooms were fried and bland. Our entrees were the rabbit, snapper, and scallops with sides of dirty rice, grits, and cabbage. The meat was tender and there were some nice flavors. The dishes were all decent, but very rich and heavy. So, if you like the feeling of that in your stomach, this place is for you. Our server was nice but a bit officious. For the price, we didn't feel the experience was worth it. We thought it was an attempt at elevated southern food that didn't quite succeed.

Everyone just fits in, no matter if you're the black sheep! Seating is a little limited, but worth the wait. I guess the first person I ran into was a manager, he introduced himself, (legit, "Hi my name is Bryan" and shook my hand!) (Post Script, the handshake is pervasive here, literally both bartenders were introduced to me and both came up and shook my hand.) I had checked this place out from other Yelp reviews and already knew I wanted the Fish and Chips, so after my beer order, I was shocked and awed that without asking, he brought the Malt Vinegar! You know it's gonna be the bomb already! The fish arrived very quickly! Bruh...this fish was legit. A large solo iceberg of fried perfection crested upon a wave of fresh made "chips " and they were clearly fresh made, not the frozen variety. The beer batter on this fish was so good I was in heaven. I thought it might be heavy and greasy, and yet somehow it held only flavor, crunch, and absorbed my Malt Vinegar to perfection. This place is packed with regulars and it clearly seems to attract other service industries personnel. All good signs of a good time! This may have been my first visit, but won't be my last!
