Mac's Restaurant & Nightclub - Jazz that had everyone dancing!

Traveling for work and was looking for a place for something to eat with a lively atmosphere. Found…read moreon Facebook that Macs restaurant ( also known as the old Vets building to locals) was having blues/ jazz this night. I hopped on yelp to check out reviews of where I was considering... very mixed as well as dated. So decided to try anyway. Was so happy I did. So if you're looking for an upscale fancy dinner this is not your place. But it is elevated bar food. I had the flatbread bbq chicken pizza. Crust nice and crunchy with so much topping the crust had a hard time supporting it when you picked it up to eat. The previous yelp reviews said they waited forever for food. I found the service above average. The restaurant set up is very much like a Lyons's hall. A bar with lots of tables around randomly and of various sizes. So I walked to the bar to find out if I needed to be seated or just help myself. The bartender stated to sit anywhere I wanted. I told her I was interested in food as well so she handed me a menu. I asked if I needed to come to the bar to order and was told I would be waited on. BC of previous reviews I timed stuff. 3 min after sitting at a random table I was acknowledged and told she would be right back. 1 min later she was asking what I wanted to eat and if I wanted anything to drink. The food menu did not have wine only beer and soda. There is a separate menu for wine. Stella, my waitress was back momentarily with that. After placing my order food arrived within 10 min. Nothing like the horrible service I had read about in previous reviews. Thanks Stella for the awesome service! I will be back The music was a bunch of locals that have been playing together for years and good at it. Era of music was chuck berry, Otis Redding, and some of there own work ( Rooster Blues) Even though this was a Thursday night jam session I felt included. People very friendly and personal

What a disappointment... celebrating our anniversary we made reservations well in advance! Only to…read morefind out they did not have a table for us.... So they sat us at the big 10-12 top with a group of un-known people. Well I could fit at the table my handicapped partner was separated from me wedged in between a wall and a huge Dog Kennel with dog inside! Far from what we had planned. Sitting there waiting for someone to at least come take our order... Hell no, they only serve tables with reservations! Which we DID have. After 30 minutes of watching others get help. I said PHUCK this! Never again....

This may be a fine venue for performances, but accessibility for the disabled is an afterthought. A…read morevery late afterthought. Is it technically ADA compliant? Probably. Barely. When you arrive from the south (as we did) you are met with a giant staircase to enter. Turns out there is a ramp on the north side. You wouldn't know that though, as there is nary a sign to be seen. Once you go around the building you can get in. There are metal detectors. They're sort of unattended though, or at least the people working them are far on the other side. What's a wheelchair to do? We tried getting someone's attention and eventually they irritatedly told us to just go through. We did. Not sure what kind of metal detectors those are supposed to be when the fully metal wheelchair didn't set them off. Now... our tickets are on the mezzanine. How do we get there? Lots of stairs.... No signs for an elevator. Had to ask around. There is one- way around the corner. It's small, old, and slow. But we got there. No bathrooms on the mezzanine though. Too bad for us. Then, after the show... the elevator.... There's a sign telling able bodied people to take the stairs.... But they don't. They just look at us sheep faced as they come down from the higher balconies packed full so we can't get in. No attendant or anything, no staff member to tell them no, so... us folx with wheelchairs and canes and walkers, we just wait for all the able bodies to get down. (And of course not all disabilities are visible. But their eyes told us their guilt.) We were there to see Tig Notaro. I think she'd be ashamed of some of her fans. And the venue. Do better.

I sat in Row C so I was fairly close to the front. This venue does offer some snacks as well as drinks for purchase. The drink prices were about average for when you go to a venue. There is plenty of restaurant options nearby as well as a couple hotels to stay at if you're out of town like me.

I wrote corperate but no answer. So i have to take it to social media now…read more Subject: Disappointing experience at Eugene, Oregon location. Dear Red Lobster Management, I am writing to share a disappointing experience at your Eugene, Oregon location on a Tuesday the 28th of July at aproximently 830pm . From the start, service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being almost empty. Our server, Lisa P., took a very long time to greet us, take drink orders, bring the appetizer order, and return for our meal order. She was rarely around, and at one point I had to ask the host to refill our drinks and clear plates. When I asked about the military discount, I was told it could be applied only to my individual meal, even though I was paying the full bill for my family. As a retired Air Force veteran, that left me feeling unappreciated. Meanwhile, the BJ's across the street was full while your parking lot was nearly empty. In my opinion, poor customer service is a key reason why. I'm not writing simply to complain, but because I hope you will address these service issues through better training and attention to customers. I'd like to keep supporting Red Lobster, but experiences like this one make it difficult. Sincerely, Jordan, USAF, Retired Table 26 Check# 25046 $125.44 Red Lobster 6366
