The docent was a very kind and friendly lady who knew the most about Aida but knew something about all of them. I appreciate her honesty when we asked a wished didn't know she would tell us she was not sure but would offer a maybe because... or probably because.... She pointed out what pieces of furniture were original to the home and explained how the rest were donated. So much history! She said the last lady who owned the home was raised in the Campbell House Inn which is actually where we stayed! I didn't take a bunch of photos as I was enjoying the moment and listening to the docent tell us the history of the home. Also many other people have posted great photos here already so no point in being redundant. The docent said it is decorated for Christmas during the holidays and recommended to visit it if I'm the area during that time. The theme was weddings do when we visited as the docent explained that someone had donated a tremendous amount of wedding gowns to the museum.

While the facilities were admittedly dated, the beautifully maintained grounds and charming atmosphere made it worthwhile. Unfortunately, last night's visit completely destroyed those positive recollections. We checked in around 11 PM and were sent to our assigned room -- a tiny, isolated space in the attic. It was unbearably hot and steamy, with no air conditioning or adequate ventilation, despite the rest of the building being cooled. The conditions were so shocking and unsafe that we turned around immediately, left without staying, and went to find another hotel. When we raised the issue, staff simply suggested using a fan. The only way to have endured the night would have been to sleep with the door wide open to the hallway, which was obviously not a safe or reasonable option. I will never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone. The lack of basic comfort and guest care is unacceptable.

Two of my friends chose tasting flights, the attendant led them through a tasting which included a background about the winery itself. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everyone needs to get the story straight to avoid misleading customers. The previous evening valet was very kind; the morning valet was a jerk.

Otherwise the whole crew were amazing and made our day feel so special.

On non event days it's one of my favorite nearish parks year round. Bird watching early or evening strolls, shady summer walks or a solid hike up the hill, it's never boring. There was record heat that weekend, and Shelly kept her cool literally and figuratively to seamlessly fix little things while the bride and groom were focusing on themselves and their wedding day. I had recommended that they use a wedding planner, but didn't know just how good Moxie Events was until that weekend, although I had suspected as much as the bride described meetings with Shelly in the months leading up to last weekend. Shelly coordinated the rehearsal dinner (at the wedding venue), as well as the wedding. There were separate rentals for each event, and set up and take down of all of those. In 100+ degree heat. Bravo. I do quite a bit of entertaining, and have been to elaborate and beautiful affairs. This was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended.
