    I hired Grace to decorate an event my company was sponsoring. I wish I would have seen some of…read morethese other comments. Do not hire her under any circumstances. Leading up to the event, communication was spotty and constantly late. Day of she tells me she did not have any of the decorations as she did not order them in time and they had not arrived. I should have been informed earlier so I could have had a back up but again, communication was unprofessional and inconsiderate. she did still show up but the quality of what she slapped together was so poor the event host was extremely upset. I had to pay an extra $700 for floral that she refused to cover. I was told I would be getting a PARTIAL refund. She gave me dates multiple times for refund and did not come through. She eventually stopped responding. She stated that she did not have the money to refund me. As she did not have any decor I'm wondering what she did with the thousands of dollars I paid her? it is also worth adding that she approached us for the gig as we posted it on an industry facebook group and then used the excuse that she was "in over her head on this job" (something she did not confess until she had already messed the event up). She insists she is not a scammer. she is 100% a scammer. Do not hire this company.

    I can't put into words how grateful I am that Katie Wilgus was our wedding planner for our wedding…read morelast month. After our first coffee meeting, I knew she is IT. She is super dialed into the wedding industry and was able to easily rattle off recommendations for vendors that matched our style, wants and needs. I also found her to be very thoughtful, strategic, smart, and extremely calm, not to mention super experienced. And the proof is in the pudding -- if you look at photos of her events, they are so incredibly beautiful, put-together and stylish. We were originally supposed to be married in May 2020, and having to put off our marriage several times due to the pandemic was a huge disappointment. But Katie stuck by us through two rounds of rescheduling and helped us through it ALL. She understands events and the industry so well that even though the pandemic was uncharted territory for all of us, her knowledge and gut instincts saved us many times. She was always quick to answer emails and phone calls, and there was never a loose end on her watch -- she is so organized and focused. And we could always count on her to be super honest and transparent with her advice; if spending money on something added a lot of value or made a lot of sense, she would tell us, but she would also let us know where we could easily save money. I was happy with every one of her recommendations -- vendors, decor, paper goods, everything! I will also never forget the many examples of kindness and empathy that Katie showed us, including literally HOLDING a plate of cheese and fruit for me to eat from between photos on my wedding day! Her compassion and positive energy are honestly humbling. When we were planning our event with all these masking and safety restrictions, I was worried that after all this work and all these postponements, the resulting event was going to feel like a compromise. But our day was honestly perfect and stunningly beautiful, and a lot of the credit for that goes to Katie. I am forever grateful and would heartily recommend her to anyone planning an event.

The moment we met with Katie we knew she would be perfect for us. At the time of our meeting with Gather Event my anxiety was high. I felt like I had nothing under control and wasn't sure how I was going to handle everything, but by the end of the meeting I felt much calmer and confident that Katie would make our day run perfectly. Through the entire process she was cool, calm, and collected. Her team made sure every detail was covered, thought about, and managed. They helped create our wedding timeline and made sure all vendors were aware of timing and facilitated those relationships from start to finish. I didn't have to think about much during the last couple of weeks before the wedding and what a gift that was; to be relaxed and confident before the big day! I am so thankful we decided to have Gather Event Planning be a part of our day. I received so many compliments on how smooth everything ran, and how perfectly calm the wedding atmosphere seemed. That was all thanks to Katie and her team. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Do yourself a favor, and hire a day-of-coordinator and make sure it's Gather Event Planning!

    VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. The grounds are beautiful but they come with a wedding planner that we found…read moredifficult to deal with. I hesitate to mention this because I've read other reviews and she has responded by saying that she will sue them for defamation of character.. My neice claims that she was afraid of her all week and had a hard time speaking up for herself. I helped officiate my neice's wedding at the Holstein House in Shedd, Oregon. The place was beautiful At the last minute the owner/wedding planner kept changing the agreement and actually insisted on doing things that were not in the contract. When they would protest she would say that she would pull her staff if she didn't like things. She told them that they could have their own decorations but loudly complained that she didn't like them even though everyone commented that they were beautiful. On the night before the wedding she came in and once again stated that unless things were done according to her, she would pull her staff.. That was her constant threat. She wouldn't show anyone where the lights were but made them wait until almost dark to turn them on. When I purposely, calmly spoke with her on Friday night she threatened me in the same way, that she would pull her staff. I thought she was saying that she didn't want to be involved so I said that was fine, that we could handle it if she wasn't comfortable with being in charge of sending people down the aisle. She got furious and started yelling at me. Not even kidding. I was totally shocked. When I approached her, I tried to smooth things over between her and the bride, who was feeling totally run over. I have planned many weddings and have never seen anyone using threats as the wedding planner did. When I tried to reason with her she threatened to throw me off the premises. She said it was her reputation that was at stake and she didn't want people to think that she was involved in this wedding. I reminded her that there were about 20 people currently listening to this conversation and perhaps they might also be people who would use her in the future. She then accused me of threatening her. I was in no way threatening HER, just reponding to her threats and trying to calm the situation down at the moment.. Then she asked my name and then told my neice that I was a nobody. I was JUST the officiant and officients had no say in what should happen. She said that she would call the police and have me removed unless I stepped out of the conversation, that she would speak only to the bride. I was shocked. Hoping to calm her down I thought maybe if I apologized for uspetting her she would be more reasonable so,I tried to apologize for getting her upset and she talked louder. I even went so far as to ask her to forgive me for upsetting her and she said she would save that for later. I felt bad but couldn't figure out what I had done to upset her. I was just trying to help my neice, who was in tears, not be so afraid. The next day (after the wedding) my neice, by contract, had until 5 pm to get things off the property but by 11:00 am the lady had taken everything and dumped it in a corner. I had personally purchased the coffee and tea for the wedding and my neice was gathering that up to take home with her and ny neice says that she accused her of stealing it. I have the receipt if she wants to continue claiming that. At about 4:45, when my neice was getting everything together to leave, the Holstein woman came out and again threatened to call the police if she didn't get her ##### off her property. They left with her screaming that they were crazy and stupid. I would put my reputation up against hers any day. I have never been accused of the things this woman accused me of and have overseen many successful weddings. This was a miserable experience for us. I would NEVER suggest that anyone use this wedding house since it was a very bad experience.
