Sparkling chenin blanc

We live out of town and come once every Summer. On both visits our pet had been welcomed on their outside dog friendly patio. Additionally, it's really nice to order from people who like wine and know about the wines they are selling. Last year the woman was kind and knowledgeable and talked to us about the different wines. We got to try some that had the smoke from the fires in them. I thought they were good. This year we had a nice man with tattoos down his neck all the way to his feet. What a great sommelier he was. It's so nice to talk to someone who knows their wine, enjoys talking about them, and really enjoys their job. Additional praise to the management for allowing him to be himself at work. He's happy, it shows, and it helped us enjoy our time at your establishment.

What an edgy yet super-friendly place. Cindy was amazing at introducing us to their way of creating wines that had had skin contact! Patrick is the curator of their wine and beer selection and his expertise is obviously displayed in his perfect selection of wines and beers available. The panini was exquisite, the crispness of the bread, the punch of the mustard and texture of the pickles was spot on. We live in Roseburg, recently relocated from the foo-foo northern suburbs of Chicago. For us now this is a destination. The ambiance with the decor and the African jazz music is totally invigorating and, at the same time totally cool.

Very inviting and special.

Such a great place to spend a relaxing few hours tasting a wonderful selection of very fine wine. Really nice. And the knowledge of those serving the fine wines is top shelf all the way. Very impressive. Liz served us tonight. Wonderful. Last time we stopped by Rhys was behind the bar. She is a pouring encyclopedia of fine wine. This is a great addition to Downtown Eugene.

I had the best time here! Next door to Lion and Owl, I'd been meaning to try this urban winery, tasting room, and bottle shop. And they had lots of interesting things I hadn't seen elsewhere. Staff was helpful and very knowledgeable, they seem to love what they do. They have five namesake wines that they make themselves, including a sparkler and an "orange" wine (similar to rose). Some well chosen esoteric reds and whites by the glass or in flights that change periodically. My favorite was a full bodied Hungarian white Tokay from a 500 year old property. They also have a half dozen "small plates " including panini, charcuterie and nuts. First timers can use a Yelp discount for 20% off a one bottle purchase.

What a wonderful experience. I came across Civic here on yelp while looking for something to do while in town for an evening on business. My original goal of just getting out of my hotel room for a bit was much surpassed when I was able to not only sample all of their Civic wines, but also get a tour of the processes in back. Craig was fantastic, and Mel was incredibly accommodating in capping my bottle of barrel poured wine to be sure it made it safely through the flight home. The barrel poured Pinot Noir is incredible, and only $4/glass or $9/bottle in a growler type service. I also had some burrata while there that I am already craving again. The atmosphere is wonderful, so friendly, and I am already looking forward to my return when back in Eugene.

The BEST wine in Oregon! I am so excited to come back for my next trip and spend more time here. Great service, location and atmosphere. I loved how the wine is Organic and Natural!

I hosted a Volunteer Appreciation dinner in the barrel room here mid April and we had a wonderful time. Melanie (event coordinator) was incredibly helpful setting up and arranging the event. They offered competitive and manageable prices and a space that allowed me to show my volunteers how much we truly appreciate their work. The staff, including the owner Craig, were incredibly friendly and personable, the wine is delicious, and they have a fantastic space to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in downtown. I highly recommend Civic Wines and Winery for events or just enjoying some wine

Happened to be in town for a conference and happened into this place. What a find! Talked with Craig (owner) and Patrick (behind the bar) and got the full tour. Interesting wines in the tasting room and small plates available. The cheeses were highly recommended by others in the room. Looking forward to a return trip to try their first releases!

I had such a good time here. The wine was delicious and so many unique and varied types. The girl when we went on Sunday was so hospitable (I'm embarrassed that I'm not sure of her name, but as I was day drinking, I got all the names mixed up. Maybe Reese?) anyway, she was so nice and knowledgeable about wine and she also recommended things to do in Eugene, as well as showing us some wines we never would have thought go try. The bar is really cute and is next door to Lyon and Owl, which is also great. My favorite wine was the Civic Rose, even though I normally do t like Rose. There were some interesting reds as well.

Best new wine bar in town. It is a must try. Great location, friendly staff, knowledgable owner....what more can ypu ask for. Maybe world peace.

Such a great place for a midweek wine emergency

Tip: The stairs are steep so be aware; they're not recommended for small children or people with mobility issues. When you ascend to the attic, you'll find an impressive replica of the house, and also a nice collection of war memorabilia (Swords, flags, photos, medical instruments, etc.). We very much enjoyed learning more about the history of Eugene; the docents were both friendly and knowledgeable. The furnishings and architecture are from a different time and the tour was informative.

The docent was a very kind and friendly lady who knew the most about Aida but knew something about all of them. I appreciate her honesty when we asked a wished didn't know she would tell us she was not sure but would offer a maybe because... or probably because.... She pointed out what pieces of furniture were original to the home and explained how the rest were donated. So much history! She said the last lady who owned the home was raised in the Campbell House Inn which is actually where we stayed! I didn't take a bunch of photos as I was enjoying the moment and listening to the docent tell us the history of the home. Also many other people have posted great photos here already so no point in being redundant. The docent said it is decorated for Christmas during the holidays and recommended to visit it if I'm the area during that time. The theme was weddings do when we visited as the docent explained that someone had donated a tremendous amount of wedding gowns to the museum.

Beautiful grounds and a lovely breakfast, plus an evening glass of wine are all included. Very good value. Not mentioned in any reviews that I read prior to staying here: a mainline of the Union Pacific Railroad is just three blocks away. At least three times during the dead of night, trains came through with the horns blowing loudly at each of many crossings through this part of Eugene. Unbelievably loud!!! People living in this area must be able to tune it out, but we were NOT used to this. Because the Campbell House is up a hill from the railroad, it seems that horns can be heard unimpeded by other structures (despite the massive 18 floor Ya-Po-Ah Terrace building nearby). I would suggest wearing ear plugs during the night. Nevertheless, I would consider staying hear again if traveling on my own, but my wife would probably veto it we were both traveling. We left sleep deprived to begin our 7+ hour drive home.
