Sheermal and Chicken Shami Kabab
Sreyoshi B.

We got take out from Zareen's after a ridiculously long flight and it reminded us why this spot continues to be our go to whenever we visit. Sheermal is always our favorite - melt in the mouth and freshly baked, and we paired it with a juicy assortment of kebabs accompanied by some delightful hari (green) chutney. The spice, the value for money, and the comfort of this meal hit all the right spots! As always. Packaging could be a little better, but hey, do yourself a favor and go get a bite of that divine Sheermal!

Burrito 5/5 - this was so good! I thought a burrito would be too much with the tortilla but I am glad I got it! The tortilla is thin so it doesn't feel too heavy. The flavor is really good. And it is huge!! Good enough for two portions. I like the curry sauce that comes with the burrito, adds lots of flavor Also got their fries and they were a bit seasoned. The sauce is good too.

~ Smells like Heaven!! ~ As soon as you open the door, you are hit with SO many aromas!! I ate this 2 days in a row on my trip and did take out!! It tasted even better the next day! The service is so welcoming and sweet! Definitely get the Chicken tiki masala with garlic nan, the lamb curry, and chicken samosas !! And to wash it down TRY THE MANGO LASI. HONESTLY ANYTHING YOU GET HERE WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. I LOVE THEIR FOOD !!

Man, the food at Zareen's is just flat out good. Different flavors and spices working together just gives so much flavor that's unique to anything western, really. This location is small. Seating is strewn about outside with no space for seating inside. There is a machine to place your order, along with menu items, inside. While the food is just really good overall, the fact that this is pretty much a take out location is disappointing with all of the plastic used and waste created. You gotta visit a Zareen's, and if you can, visit one of their restaurant locations.

Love this spot since it is to go order only.. no one in line it was fast and easy ordering kiosk service.. the burger was not to dry the fry's was crunchy.. the ambiance is small no place to sit.. there are table and chairs outside... but not preferred when it's raining like today.. .. "till next time my food lover, till next time"

Palak Methi Gosht Ala Carte

Got takeout of lamb gosht ala carte and it was delicious, just not as creamy as I would prefer. I've also had the palak methi and it was so so plate-licking good, even after I froze it once. Super creamy and tender, just a hint of spice. The flavors at this establishment don't miss. Don't have anything to say regarding the service or ambiance since I've only done takeout.

We came here after a visit to the Computer History Museum. I was expecting a sit-down place, but they have been takeout only since COVID. We ordered from a kiosk. We shared the Lamb Gosht Thali and the Palak Methi Gosht Thali with naan on the side. One of the best parts of the meal was the daal. It's one of my favorites, and was great. Both lambs dishes were really good. The sauce from the Gosht was great to eat the naan with. The salad was good but nothing special. Now, the not so good things. First of all the naan came in a foil bag, making it mushy from the steam. I prefer my naan crispy. Moreover the naan was a little on the doughy side. Portion size was small, I could have eaten a samosa or two for dessert. The whole experience seemed a little impersonal. I placed my own order, paid, and someone popped out the back and handed my cousin our food. To make matters worse, the kiosk even asked for a tip. All they did was hand my food over.

Lamb Gosht Ala Carte

I've had coworkers rave about this place and after seeing it ranking highly on Yelp this year, I knew I had to try it out since I was in the Mountain View Area! My friend got the Tikka Masala combo and I wanted to try something different today and got the Lamb Bhuna Gosht entree with naan. It was amazing! Super well seasoned and spicy. I think their food holds true to its authenticity even after the store rose in popularity. Naan- got it to dip in with my entree. Not the hottest or crispiest but did the job. Mango lassi is just ok imo. It's definitely creamy and has the sweetness of the mango but tastes a little watered down I think. Not the greatest I've had for 5.50. Their Chai is super good though! I'd get this over the lassi any day! It's definitely on the sweeter side but I think the sweetness complements the meal well which is more seasoned and spicy. Comparing the entree to combo, I personally think it's better to order the entree then the combo because it looks like you get twice as much when comparing containers. Note this location is fully to go, but there is some seating outside for small and bigger groups. I'd love to come back and try a different entree or try their dine in locations when I'm further up in the peninsula!

With its close proximity to 101, 85, a certain tech giant, and really damn good food, there's no wonder why Zareen's is such a South Bay/Peninsula staple. You can order through a number of delivery platforms, so getting your hands on this delicious food isn't too difficult either. While it is a mostly to-go restaurant (at least this location), they do have some outdoor dining available, which is great on a nice day, and the perfect stop before a Shoreline concert. The outdoor seating gets pretty packed, so either get their early, or prepare to pounce the moment someone gets up from their table. They have combos that are served with rice and salad, or you can order a la carte entrees. I've gotten a combo via delivery service for myself, but when dining with others the a la carte entrees are the way to go. On my most recent visit we ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, and sides of rice and naan. This was plenty of food for two of us, and left us with a small amount of leftovers. Food was hearty and flavorful and had a little bit of heat, but nothing too intense. Would order all items again and look forward to going with more people sometime so that we can order and try even more from the menu!

Grilled Chicken Boti Thali, Chai To Go

Post-COVID, the original Zareen's near Google headquarters now only does takeout, but that does not change its status as one of the most beloved culinary establishments in the Bay Area. Sure, compared to the food you might get on the streets of Pakistan or India, its flavors are slightly muted, but I find its milder taste distinctly unique. I always get a combo thali for the variety, and their chicken is consistently juicy. They also serve some of the best chai I have ever had!

We ordered to go on the app. Pick up was ready on time. There is an area with twinkle lights, tables and chairs a few feet away that you can eat outside. The flavors of each dish were good. The lamb was a little greasy.

Madras Chicken Curry Thali

We got the Beef Chapli Kabab Sizzler, Madras Chicken Curry Thali and garlic naan at Zareen's on a Saturday night. Beef Chapli Kabab: When i ordered this, i envisioned a skewer kebab but was surprised with patty liked beef. It was seasoned well but it was a bit chewy. Madras Chicken Curry Thali: The star of the show! The curry was perfect! Bursting with rich spices and with a nice tolerable quick of spiciness. It was creamy and you could tell that the chicken was grilled. The lentils on the other hand were undercooked and could have used more flavor. The salad was mainly spinach and was mixed with this almost like sweet and sour sauce. Naan: We got a regular one and a few garlic ones. They were soft and they were pretty big. They have a special over just specialized for the naan so that's cool! Service/Ambiance: Ordered outside and got our food in about 10 minutes. It is a self serve restaurant. If you are looking for a warm cozy Indian spot, this is your place! (p.s took a few bites before taking pictures lol)

Rather than dismissing our concerns, they took our feedback to heart and extended an invitation to return--one we decided to accept. Last night, we had dinner at Arya and it was the event of the day for my wife and me. From the moment we arrived, the entire team--from the receptionists to our server Serdar and the support staff--treated us as honored guests. Every interaction felt warm and genuine. The food was exceptional. We started with a mezze platter featuring delicious spreads, pastries, and felafel, followed by a mixed green salad that showcased some of the best burrata we've ever had, topped with tiny, sweet berries. Our main courses were equally memorable: a stunning Fesenjoon pomegranate-walnut chicken stew with a perfect balance of slightly sweet and tart, and a side of basmati rice studded with almonds, pistachios, berries, and orange peel. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, unique, and delicious. But what truly made the evening special was the service and genuine hospitality. Serdar, our server, was remarkably warm and attentive. We had fascinating conversations with him about his world travels, the uniqueness of Persian cuisine, and his recommendations for authentic Turkish breakfast and dinner spots (he's half Greek and half Turkish, which made his recommendations all the more authentic and personal). Mehdi introduced himself during the meal and checked in on us with a genuine interest in our experience, not just as a manager, but as someone who truly cares. When we mentioned we had no room for dessert, Mehdi surprised us with a beautifully presented pistachio-saffron ice cream served in an ornate bowl made of ice--a perfect final touch that felt like a work of art. This visit demonstrated that Arya is a restaurant that listens, cares, and delivers on its promise to provide not just excellent food, but genuine hospitality. We left feeling valued and delighted.

Since I typically order takeout, I haven't spent much time inside the restaurant. But I do like the clean, tasteful aesthetic. I also appreciate the staff, both for their friendliness and promptness. I've tried various meats and enjoyed them all; my favorites are the Pomegranate Chicken and Steak Shawarma. It's cool to see Döner Kebab on the menu, too. The different entrée types have varying portion sizes and levels of customization. My preferred type is the Plate, because of the balance of protein, carbs, & veggies. But I think most would like the options & size of the Bowl. On the more critical side, I do not think the Wrap Bites are worthwhile. The form factor & taste are good, but the portions are lacking. I'm also not a fan of the fries and wish I could swap with other sides. Some other thoughts on the menu. Entrées let you add on a lentil soup cup for free, so don't forget it! What you should forget about is the Dubai Chocolate... even if it's "cheap" relative to others, it's just not that good.
