Go here if you'd like to be without a dress the day-and-a-half before a once-in-a-lifetime life…read moreevent AND out $1,200. Go here if you'd like to be lied to, deceived, manipulated, and taken advantage of. Deceitful, lying, unethical business practices. Merchandise is not as described or as agreed upon; alterations of their own have resulted in an unwearable lump of $1,200 fabric. No empathy or acknowledgement of the impossible situation they have put me in. Would not wish this experience on anyone. I have 30 hours until I need to host a 300+ black tie event, and I am in the terrible position of needing to somehow find a beautiful Indian outfit because of Karishma's persistent deception and abuses of my kindness and goodwill. I gave them an opportunity as a courtesy to provide me with a refund, after delivering an ill-fitting, poor quality lehenga several days late. I have taken numerous trips to Queens despite living two hours away and bent over backwards to give the staff the benefit of the doubt there, trying to work with them. Yes, measure me for the third time. Yes, alter it again. OK, it will be delayed. OK, it will be delayed again. OK, it cannot be picked up even though I've already left. OK, I'll try it again. When it became clear that the dress had been rendered unwearable, I expected a courteous "We are so sorry" and a refund. Instead, I was yelled at and debased some more. I should have listened to the bad reviews here; now I hope you'll listen to my experience because I would hate for anyone else to be in this situation. I have asked for the manager's name; the owner's name; to speak with someone in a decision-making capacity. There is no accountability and no one has ever provided a response. They use manipulation tactics and put you down. And they lie repeatedly. Again, since there is no owner or manager seemingly present or willing to engage, you will have zero recourse for any issues. And the kicker: they only accept debit charges, which are harder to dispute via your bank. I have spent upward of 20 hours trying to resolve issues with Karishma. After being yelled at and insulted by their staff, my bank is dealing with them directly. Good luck finding your dream dress; I'm off to find whatever I can get on what was supposed to be a special day in my life.

I came here for an outfit for Navratri in October. Almost all the stores on 74th Street told me…read morethey didn't carry chaniya cholis for Navratri. They advised I go to more Gujarati populated neighborhoods in Long Island (sigh). I went into Aura and there were two guys and a girl all busy folding things and putting them away. They were all really attentive and asked me what I was looking for once I came up the steps. The girl took me to the back section where she pulled out several (5-8) sets. I apologized for my size (42-44) knowing that this would make her job more difficult. She said there was no need to do so and took out the different colors in my size. I asked for the price and she said $400 (yikes!). I knew I had to haggle, this is an Indian store after all. I told her I'd come back the next day after going to some other stores. She asked me what I was comfortable paying. I took a chance and said $100 because that's about the price I had seen on websites online like indusdiva.com and utsavfashion.com. She said that that wasn't possible and she could give me possibly for $200. I came back the next day after looking at some stores (one of which showed me stuff that Madhuri Dixit wore in the early 90s and for $200+ Really?) This time one of the guys showed me the outfits. He opened it up and held it against himself and on me. I haggled with him a bit and got it for $170! ALL PROS! 1. Good customer service: humble, sweet, and generally nice people 2. Store was clean 3. SO many options. Variety! 4. There were Caucasian people in the store and they were being treated just as nicely as I, a native Indian, was 5. They have saris for the general population, salwar suits like the Punjabis prefer, Lehengas for the brides, and chaniya cholis for the Gujaratis! 6. They take credit cards 7. They didn't charge me double as I've heard places like Armaan do! 8. They don't have a tailor on site, but they tell you places where you can get it done well Absolutely love this place! Will definitely be coming back here again. =)

For as long as I've gazed this stretch of Little India (#1), I've seen Perfection Bridal as one of…read morethe first stores in view. Located just steps from the east entrance to the 74th St station, this boutique biz has been a part of the neighborhood for a very long time. I'm fully aware I'm not the part of their target audience, have worn anything here (#2), so it's worth taking this review with a grain of salt. Despite my lack of traditional Indian attire experience, I've come here with friends and family to shop for sarees. (#3) Whether it was for tourist shopping in Jackson Heights or because they were hoping to rock a saree for an upcoming Indian wedding, I've seen a fair share of different outfits here and some of the stuff they have is pretty impressive. It's not all sarees of course, there's a whole spectrum of things they specialize in -- shalwar, kameez, lehnga choly, punjabi suits, silk suits, and children's formal wear. If they don't have items in house, they'll have it specially ordered from the motherland or import fabric for a custom job. Customer service could always been a bit warmer, but I say this because I think there could be a better hand holding experience for first timers out there. The staff seems to be able to speak a number of languages / dialects, which include urdu, Hindi, Tamil, and Punjabi. I was told by others the prices here can be a bit on the expensive side, but I also don't have a ton of experiences shopping in other similar stores. __________ (#1) Nowadays, more like little Bangladesh. (#2) But I've paid. That makes me a customer. (#3) Or sari. Whatever floats your boat.

Upon walking in, I remember seeing a bunch of old women sweaters, which isn't really what I was looking for (I was in the market for my wedding dress). They have some of their mens collection on the walls. They're true bridal clothes are in the back of the store, which is where we spent the majority of our time. They have a huge collection of bridal clothes and had quite a few for the exact color that I was looking for. The woman working the store, happened to be Afghani and didn't understand Hindi (spoke perfect English though, which was great for me!) and was a true sweetheart the entire time I was there. She was really helpful picking out different clothes and quickly picking up styles that I liked/disliked. She was also nice when trying clothes on, showing me different ways that I could wear the clothes. Overall, a really nice woman....which made me feel bad when we didn't buy anything from them. Their clothes were really nice, but they were a little pricey and they didn't have exactly what I wanted. If I had to do it again, I'd definitely go back there for any occasion that I was looking for an outfit for.

You can tell it's a woman's owned business by the decor and the thoughtful product selection. Merchandise is selected with great taste and reflects great fashion sense. I was surprised and excited to find a purse I didn't buy in Athens last year and immediately added it to my basket. I loved when the owner told me " I sale everything I would wear". She was very personable went above and beyond to explain when asked questions. Honestly my girlfriend and I felt like we were on a shopping spree with another girlfriend of ours which made our experience more pleasant. In addition to the purse I purchased gorgeous statement handmade ring that would match well with one of my statement necklaces from Devon Leigh. I've been in fashion for 15+ years and it is exciting for me when a merchandiser is brave enough to challenge the market by introducing small handmade European brands. Bravo! My girlfriend bought a candle and called me raving about the smell and clean quality. Prices reflect the quality and selection in the boutique and are a good value. My purchases were wrapped beautifully and I received them in well made canvas tote with Hará's logo that I will definitely use and advertise the store. I emailed the boutique afterwards because I didn't receive my e-receipt and immediately received a response with attached receipt. Another point for exceptional customer service that is rare to experience now days! You can find clothes, accessories, candles and even Greek olive oil. I urge you if you haven't been to Hará to take a walk and visit to support a small business that bring beauty to Astoria. Cheerio!
