Just left Zara, Market Mall after rudely being told by the manager that I could not purchase a dress that was hanging in the display window, despite another one not being available in their location or anywhere else. It really made me wonder if that particular dress had ever been available, especially when that same manager said that the clothes in the window are simply there to draw customers in. Is it not fair to assume that if you're showcasing an item, it's part of your retail inventory? As I walked away the dress was being rehung in the display window. Seems to me this is a clear case of dishonesty in the form of false advertising. Because of this underhandedness, but even more so because of insincerity of the rude male manager, I will avoid Zara and hope others do to. I rarely buy fast fashion and was a bit embarrassed to be there anyway. My recommendation: buy quality items, from quality retailers who understand how to treat customers, and wear those clothes for a long time with style and grace. read more
