This is a review of the Market Mall Alberta Precision Lab in the Market Mall Professional Building. If you need blood work done, I highly recommend you go in at 5:30 pm during walk-in especially if you have children and need numbing cream. You'll get treatment you'll never forget. I went in on Friday to get my child's blood work done. I came early (5pm) as the numbing cream needed time. Walk-in was to start at 5:30pm.I was paged on my phone at 5:28 pm. I went in and went to the desk. I waited until I was acknowledged by the man in the dark green shirt. He was at the counter (no one at the desk). I explained I had been paged but needed some extra time for the numbing cream to work. He did not give any eye contact, shrugged his shoulders and was arrogant and passive aggressive in his replies. I politely asked for more time for the numbing cream to work. He shrugged his shoulders. He started getting red in the face, his body was shaking and he was shuffling papers. He got angrier and more agitated the more I asked questions, like "does the numbing cream still work if it has not been on the required time?" He said, "How do I know?" and "I don't know anything about numbing cream." Calmly, I told him I would return to the lobby where I was instructed to wait, and waited longer. No one came and got me for my bloodwork. A female patient leaving the office, came to get me. The staff and the other lady at the desk that the manager was with a patient, then that there was no manager. While I was in the lobby, the lady staff member came out with a lady not in scrubs. This might have been the manager. I took my children to the lobby to wait for our ride. I didn't see the man from the lab come down the elevator so he must have taken an other route. He sat in the lobby, texting on his phone. As he left, I told him his behaiour was unacceptable.' I have worked with problematic behaviour as a career, lol. He yelled back, "I am not working right now so I don't have to be nice to you" as he came close to us as he was exiting by the front doors. My daughter was frightened. Thanks to the two wonderful strangers who waited with us outside until my husband showed up. More photos to come & updates. The worst mall I've ever been in! They make toddlers wait to get into their free play area, nothing like bringing babies to go play somewhere and they aren't allowed in for over an hour. We came to the mall to use the playplace and were going to go shopping after the kids played and got rid of some energy but because of this we will never go this mall again. Also couldn't believe the people running the "customer service" station directly outside the closed off play area. The staff seemed to only care about their phones while we were trying to check in to the ridiculous app. Not sure who's brilliant idea this play area waiting app was but it's having the opposite effect that they were after I'm sure. Won't even go to or order from any of the restaurants attached to this mall, keep up the horrible service read more

Nice mall. Its one of the bigger malls in Calgary other than Chinook. I like Chinook mall more because it has more of the stores I like. The mall was built like 5 years ago. Ceiling is high so making the mall feel very spacious and comfortable to walk in. During weekdays, its not that busy. There is a kid play area but closes 2 or 3 hours before mall closing time on a weekday. Plenty of parking here. They have Toys r us here and yes to the Apple store too. read more

Lots of different shops and extra wide halls so the congestion isn't too bad. The stores here are quality so you could reasonably spend the better part of the day shopping. It isn't like some malls with duplicate outlet stores and temporary month by month rentals. I also appreciate that there aren't skeezy kiosk vendors trying to rugby tackle you into trying their Parisian hand creams. Great place for the family:) read more

Everything under the sun but I wanted to get my iPhone​ fixed and they had one of the two stores in Calgary. It worked out well. Great people and fast service. My phone was fixed at​ no charge.. Suprise!. I wandered​ around the mall and found an excellent popcorn place call PoKo. Natural fresh ingredients they claimed. Was better than home. expensive but worth it. The bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible. The doors open inside and where the chair would go, the door is. If someone in a wheelchair needs to actually use the toilet, they wouldn't be able to. To be fair, I went into one bathroom, I am assuming they are all the same throughout the mall. The food court is ok on accessibility, but I had help and sat at the table. We were looking for ornaments, there were a number of stores that made it impossible for me to enter because of the store layout. I am the person who spends the money in our house- my wheelchair doesn't change that, but it does change whether I come into your store. read more

I don't know if malls have designations, but if they did, I would classify this as the Mommy and Professional's kinda mall. While Chinook may be the most popular mall in Calgary, the hidden gem is definitely Market Mall. Mostly because it is far away from the C-Train line, which means teens have to make an extra effort to just hang out there. The mall is clean, bright and has a great variety of stores! Right now, it is home to the only Apple store in the entire city. It also has many of my favourites like H&M, Banana Republic, American Apparel, Gap and The Bay. Yes, I said the Bay. Women will also have a great selection of clothing stores to choose from, but given my gender, I'll let someone else decide which are good and which are not. If I had to warn you about something, it would that there a lot of moms and strollers. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but just be warned. You think you've seen a lot of babies and children, but I assure you, until you go to Market Mall, you really haven't. read more

One of Calgary's best shopping centres. One level only for main shopping mall with all the anchors have two levels. Parking is decent with underground available as well. Good retailers from Apple, Banana Republic, H & M, Lululemon, Hudson Bay, Sportchek, Safeway and much more. Moxie's and Milestones are the sit down restaurants. Food court is decent size with New York Fries, Taco Time, Dairy Queen/Orange Julius, etc. Overall large mall with plenty of selection. read more

Market Mall is slightly better than Chinook in my mind. I like the circular-style layout and the stores seem a little better. They certainly have some of the better clothing stores in the city here. It also feels clean and new. It's more upscale than some of the other malls in town. They actually have lots of parking and I've enjoyed my trips to this place. This review is actually for the amazing lady named Donna at the perfume counter at Hudson's Bay Market Mall Calgary Alberta Canada. Specifically she helped me with Givenchy products yesterday. She looked like much younger and believe it or not perhaps even more energetic and vibrant and brilliant Ruth Bader Ginsburg although of course everybody's wearing mask so I don't really know what she looked like under the mask. Sometimes you meet someone and you make a connection right away like within the first sentence. When I arrived I said to her "hello I need to buy a TON of perfume! " Her response was adorable "oh my god you're hilarious I love it.!!. " I had many many different reasons for why I needed to spend quite a lot of money on myself, including the fact that it was my birthday and I literally haven't bought anything for myself in five years, I spend everything I make and more on my family. And for a few other extremely personal reasons yesterday was finally the day that I really need to spend on myself - I met this amazing lady Donna who we just cracked each other up. I literally brought her print screens of the beautiful perfumes that I've been dreaming about buying for the last decade and she not only found me all the perfumes I wanted at the best possible price but sometimes they were in gift packs so I get free added bonuses, and then she threw four extra samples into the bag for free, and then she even found probably my favourite scent by Givenchy in a large size sample and give it to me for free. in a way I'm embarrassed to admit that my purchase yesterday, even though the whole process took only 10 minutes, cost me more than double what I paid for my first car but believe it or not sometimes I think I'm worth it. Donna, you have no idea What a bad day I was having until I met you so you really not only made my day but you made my week and I'll think of you every time I use any of these lovely perfumes to perk me up. I am going to make sure that Hudson's Bay management know what a great job you are doing because that was the best customer service I've ever had and you deserve to be recognized! So i stopped in sunrise records in this mall here is what happend grabbed mike and moly off the shelf with a sticker price on it for $84.99 go line up at the entrance of the tills and get ignored a young native couple lined up at the exit and got served first so after that we then get up to the till and we get the nice shock of her saying the price was $135.00 that is complete and utter garbage . ageism at it's finest so i contacted 2 people at the mall Darren Milne, General Manager and Rob Nowak, Operations Manager and got zero response from either except an automated response so obviously they do not care and also practice ageism so if you are over 30 it seems you are not welcome in this mall!! read more

The mall was about a 5 minute drive from the University area where I was staying and less than $10 cab ride. There's the underground parking which was busy on a weeknight but still spots available. Great to have for cold winter days. The mall is very spacious which is great when it's busy and you aren't boxed in and can walk around others if you are in a rush. I like how there's seating throughout for taking a break or if your shopping companions doesn't want to go into the store with you. There's also a kid play area which seems fun for indoor play on a cold days. The mall itself was modern and clean too. I ate a few times in the food court and there's good variety of foods. There's a lovely fireplace in the middle of the seating and it's cozy if you are lucky enough to snag a table beside it. Otherwise there is a plenty of comfortable seating. I didn't walk the whole mall but went to some stores; health food store, bookstore, and a few clothing stores. The staff at the information desk were friendly and helpful to call a cab for us. If I lived in Calgary, this is one mall that I'm sure I would frequent. read more

Market mall is a really well designed mall with a focus on children at the heart of their mall. When we shop at the mall, it's great that we can give the kids a break and something to look forward to with their kids play zone. This mall also has some trending stores like the Apple Store, Lululemon, Davids Tea, etc. Lots of option here, from Safeway, to the Bay, Toys R Us, to currency exchange or Moxies. They are currently doing some renos with the old Target store, look forward to seeing how that looks. They also have under ground parking which is great over the winter months. Plenty of parking at this mall and good access in and out of the parking area. read more

Market Mall has everything you need out of a mall plus has the best and largest play area for young kids to play and run around. They are currently doing some renovations but overall cleanliness and appearance is good. Lots of parking with an underground garage for the cold winter weather. read more

To Market to Market to buy a... well, I don't know what exactly, but I'm sure whatever it is you're looking for, you're likely to find it in Market Mall. Ever since moving to Calgary, this has been my mall of choice. It's got a great selection of stores, it's always clean, and I've never found it to be as crowded as Chinook. I've always found stores here to have better selection than their counter parts in other areas of the city as well (especially lulu). The drawback for Market Mall is the parking lot on the south side. I've found it to be a bit of a bottleneck for traffic, and now they've got some cement barricades blocking off a couple of the places you could once turn into. This is one of the better malls in Calgary. I may be biased because it is close to my house. I visit all the time. One thing that i don't like is the access to the parking lot. There are not enough entrances and exits on the parking lot. Because it is on Shaganappi Blvd there is only 1 entrance on the main road so you have to go to the side or the back to get in there. then there are lineups to turn in etc... very frustrating. But once you're in the mall its great. A big circle (watch out you might get dizzy going round and round in circles). The food court has a great selection and lots of places to sit. I've never been standing around waiting to sit in there. There is also a good selection of stores and of course one of my favorites is the Apple store. They just moved to a new location in the mall and probably doubled their size. Get's a thumbs up from me! read more

FOOD COURT (Eek!) - Since the start of the Zero Waste program our family stopped going to the food court. Great idea but fail on the program delivery. Staff spends all their time sorting at the waste station and the tables are never cleaned. It did not seem to matter what day or what night it was or if the mall was busy or not we could never find a clean table. It's probably been a year since our last visit. I had forgotten how bad it was and so was seriously shocked to find that it in even worse condition. Tables had sticky grouse layers of food, crumbs, and fries, you name it. Numerous drinks cup were left lying on the floor. There were lots of open tables but not one of them was clean. We sat close to the waste sorting area and asked the staff for a cloth to wipe the table. Was the cloth clean, was it use primarily for wiping dirty trays. . . probably :( On a positive note, great selection of stores within the mall and lots of available parking. read more

I brought my toddler to the playground and not only did i have to waste time signing up online for a playground that was NOT at capacity (plus there was staff at the entrance who could have done the registration) and had to wait 30' to go in "just because", but I was told my child cannot go in to play unless she wears a mask. This is criminal and appalling behaviour. Perhaps some parents like to muzzle their very young children and put up with this but I refuse to participate in this torture of covering my child's face especially during physical exercise. read more

Market Mall has slowly been gaining ground as my favourite mall in Calgary over the years. First it had the renovation, and almost all of my favourite stores moved in right beside each other. Aritzia, Lululemon, Pusch: there are a bunch of cute shops located right within the same stretch of mall. And a few of the shops are unique to Market Mall, at least in Calgary. It's a decent size of mall too. It can take a day to thoroughly traverse it, but because of its size and layout, you can get some excellent powershopping done in just a few hours. The layout accommodates a good flow of traffic and it is usually steadily busy, unlike Chinook which tends to be packed every day of the week. Also, I find that the staff in Chinook tend to be less harried and more relaxed, which makes for a much better shopping experience. read more

It have a lot of places or to go in like American Eagle and other place and restaurants like A&W and Subway and other restaurants. And there is a place where the kids can play in, and it's free. And yeah they have Starbucks in it and they have an Apple Store. It's a great mall to go for it. read more

Used to really like this mall but hardly ever go now that H&M has closed. As a university student, that was my all-time fave for affordable basics and decent quality for the price. Now it's been replaced by one of those teeniebopper stores with cheap stuff that only lasts a couple wears - waste of money. Guess I'll go to the Core instead. The new eco-friendly store is neat, so I guess that is one saving grace. Also, y'all should get water bottle filling stations. read more

It has Starbucks, the Apple Store, heated underground parking, and a decent food court. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah and the majority of the hallway forms a ring so you can see almost the whole mall and end up where you started without doubling back. Bonus! read more

This is the place i visit when i think to buy some nice clothes and want to have a sea food. This place is far off from downtown but it is worth going that far. This place is different from the other malls. Not so crowded even during weekends and good thing is that this mall is open till 8pm on saturdays while many others don't. As this is located near university of calgary, i think that's the reason they have a lot of youth stuff. Newyork fries (butter chicken poutine) is especially good at this place compared to other newyork fries in other malls. Joey's sea food is another good place for sea food where we can find shrimp,calamari,fish and recently they have added oyster to their menu too and they all taste so good with the sauce they give along with them.yummy!!! read more

I hadn't been to Market Mall since I left town (5 years ago) so I was SHOCKED when I saw how they've renovated it! It's now more a mini version of Chinook Mall and the selection of stores is fantastic! I love the cute little florist right by the Starbucks & Cinnzeo, I love the fact that they now have a Bath & Body Works in the mall and I love that it's not usually as packed as Chinook. The one thing that is blatantly missing however is a movie theatre. I mean, who doesn't love to shop with a movie break in between?!?!? Well, maybe they'll get on it, but regardless, it's still a MUCH better mall than before and extremely accommodating to everyone's shopping needs. read more

I'm a tad biased here because I have grown up across the street from this mall, but I have to say, I love Market Mall. It's my go-to mall in Calgary. It has just about everything/every store you need and i find the layout to be very efficient. For example, all the women's stores that I want to shop at are all located at one end, where as all the kids stores are at the other end. To me, this is excellent. They have a great, huge food court with a tone of selection. The place is always very clean and I've never had a problem finding a table. The only thing I wish was that there were more washrooms. I find I have to go pretty far to use a washroom, which drives me crazy. Happy Shopping. read more

This mall has a sprinkle of everything, which is nice. It's a mid level mall, so no LV or Chanel stores here, not even a Holt Renfrew. The perks are an underground parking, a kid's play place and a great food court. The mall itself has a new extension section which is a stark contrast to the old sections. This is the only mall to still have a pet store in it, so it's a great stop to oogle at puppies and kittens. Stores range from clothing to furniture, so there is something for everyone. read more

Easily one of my favorite malls in Calgary. Great selection of stores which are anchored by The Bay. The hallways are bright and spacious and the very high ceilings probably contribute to this so I never feel claustrophobic as I do in so many malls. The management does a great job keeping it clean & safe. Having one of only two Apple stores in the city is a real plus. But as many have stated, the parking lot lacks sufficient access points and suffers from insufficient parking most weekends, especially at Christmas. It losses one star for parking. Even when the parking lot is full, It is always a pleasure to shop at Market Mall. I never feel crowded and overrun by the masses as I often due at other malls, notably, Chinook. read more

I am here a lot now in the dead of winter just to be able to get out and walk. It has been a brutally cold season and without Market Mall, I would have been destined to other Malls father away or ultimately, cabin fever. The Mall has grown on me and I frequent many more of the stores now. I love that this Mall has a Shoppers Drug Mart and 2 Starbucks! And of course, a Second Cup, home of the best soy chai latte. I pet the birds at the Pet Store, check out the little dogs, get my rings polished at Mappins. Love the Body Shop and Bath and Body. And Lulu Lemon. $$$ The food court has interesting choices with decent sushi but we never eat here. Just do take out occasionally. Target has opened up here too. I wish it had a flower shop. Overall, a great way to spend an afternoon when you cannot be outside! Lots of room to walk and the spaces are clean! It has underground parking but on the freezing cold days, forget it, it is a mob scene down there trying to find a spot! 4 stars! read more

Two words: Apple Store. OK, I'm exaggerating. Not as much scope as Chinook Centre (with its LEGO Store!) but a good selection of the usual suspects (a Zellers and a Tommy Hilfiger in the same complex, wow). A Purdy's, a Marble Slab, and a Yogen Fruz within shouting distance of one another--need I say more? And if you want inexpensive studio portraits a cut above what you get at a Sears or Wal-Mart photo mill, there's a bright, cheery Kidsphoto just a step away from Umi Sushi Express and Kernels at the outer fringes of the food court area. Market mall is located by my house and I go there quite often. The best part about the mall is the many different selection stores to chose from. It is nicely organized and clean. What I find lacking is the food court, much smaller then other mall. Also they close quite early on weekends which I don't like. Lots of parking out side but is it outdoor and no underground which suck in the winter time. Overall it is a 4/5 for me as it is in need of an update to the mall. read more

It has taken some time for my to adjust to the apparent lack of traditional malls in Calgary. I lived in Edmonton for several years, so I was spoiled by malls everywhere (not just the infamous West Edmonton Mall). Calgary has certainly focused more on developing shopping areas, but it's not the same. So although the selection of malls is limited, I do really like Market Mall and would easily select it over any mall in Edmonton (including WEM). Market Mall is a good size, with lots of stores scattered throughout. Perhaps most importantly, all of these stores are sitting above an underground parkade. I can't tell you how invaluable that parkade is to keep the car warm in winter and cool in the summer. I'm also a big fan of the food court in Market Mall. It has a great selection and lots of room for sitting. They have a little sushi place too that is really quite good. They also have a unique crepe shop, that I'm ashamed to admit hasn't yet seen my business. But I have heard wonderful things about it, and watched others enjoy it from afar (creep much?) Market Mall is also the only place in Calgary that you will find an Apple Store. Almost always busy, I suggest anyone curious about their latest technology drop in and check it out. It's a fun short visit. Finally, Market Mall has a Moxies inside, which in my opinion is one of the best in Calgary. We've been several times and enjoyed our stay each time. So if you are looking for something to do this weekend, and don't feel like venturing out to the new super mall in Balzac, stop by Market Mall! read more

Market Mall is one of the big malls in Calgary, and when you walk around in there you definitely sense that it is. In some ways that is good, selection, variety etc...but in other ways not...What I dont like about MM is that you are essentially walking around in one giant circle with a few intersecting hallways, and there are times that it feels a bit cavernous. With the big space though comes plenty of shopping options - all the big brands are there American Eagle, Old navy, H&M, The Bay etc... as well as a fairly large food court. This is also home to a very sad Zellers... ( see my review). There is plenty of parking here, but can be pretty crazy, like an episode of Canadas Worst Driver. Also strangely, they have a Homesense store kind of stuck in the parking lot. Second to Chinook, I think its safe to say that MM is the second busiest mall in Calgary, keep that in mind on a Saturday shopping trip. read more

This mall has most of the shops I look for, but I have to say- Market mall charges the businesses so much, that they have to raise the clothing, food, etc prices really highly. Much more costly than other malls. read more

The steak sandwich was small but sufficient - it was rare, as ordered. Presentation was nice with carmelized onions. Caesar salad totally unimpressive - no anchovy, no garlic, bottled cream dressing - no flavour. Very disappointing for an expensive restaurant. I had water with lemon slice on the side. When it was refilled, would have been nice to get another slice of lemon. read more
