Got a break for a long time and thought to start with this review. What moved me selecting this mall to review was it's photos that i had uploaded long back made me cherish that clean and so neat mall. I can say this is the best of all malls when compared with fancy interiors, sofas that are placed to sit inside the mall, spacious,. This is no lesser than other malls when compared with the businesses it has. Never seen this place crowded. When i feel like relaxing and passing some time shopping, I used to prefer this place.

Even though its smaller than most malls, it has everything. Calgary has few south side malls and South Center is great.

Still one of my favourite places. Easy access via transit. Not "insanely" busy. Fun to browse for a few hours and have lunch & coffee.

Review Highlights - Southcentre Mall

The store variety here is a slight step down from Chinook as well, pretty comparable to Market Mall though.

Also did a little shopping and even stopped at the Telus store for some Iphone troubleshooting. The Mall is a nice spot. Plenty of natural light from the ceiling windows. It was busy, but plenty of space to move around. Everyone was behaving themselves, adults and kids alike. There is good variety of stores to shop at. One can easily spend hours in here with the wide variety of food, drinks, and shopping options. To top it all off, there is an absolutely stunning garden on the fourth floor with ample seating and complimentary WiFi. I can see myself just posting up there and getting work done, reading a book, or just relaxing. Only downfall is that all the washrooms are on the fourth floor and with how the escalators are set up and small elevators, it can be a pain to get up there. There were a few escalators that were out of service when I visited as well. Overall, phenomenal shopping center that I will definitely be visiting often while here.

This is a review of the Market Mall Alberta Precision Lab in the Market Mall Professional Building…read more If you need blood work done, I highly recommend you go in at 5:30 pm during walk-in especially if you have children and need numbing cream. You'll get treatment you'll never forget. I went in on Friday to get my child's blood work done. I came early (5pm) as the numbing cream needed time. Walk-in was to start at 5:30pm.I was paged on my phone at 5:28 pm. I went in and went to the desk. I waited until I was acknowledged by the man in the dark green shirt. He was at the counter (no one at the desk). I explained I had been paged but needed some extra time for the numbing cream to work. He did not give any eye contact, shrugged his shoulders and was arrogant and passive aggressive in his replies. I politely asked for more time for the numbing cream to work. He shrugged his shoulders. He started getting red in the face, his body was shaking and he was shuffling papers. He got angrier and more agitated the more I asked questions, like "does the numbing cream still work if it has not been on the required time?" He said, "How do I know?" and "I don't know anything about numbing cream." Calmly, I told him I would return to the lobby where I was instructed to wait, and waited longer. No one came and got me for my bloodwork. A female patient leaving the office, came to get me. The staff and the other lady at the desk that the manager was with a patient, then that there was no manager. While I was in the lobby, the lady staff member came out with a lady not in scrubs. This might have been the manager. I took my children to the lobby to wait for our ride. I didn't see the man from the lab come down the elevator so he must have taken an other route. He sat in the lobby, texting on his phone. As he left, I told him his behaiour was unacceptable.' I have worked with problematic behaviour as a career, lol. He yelled back, "I am not working right now so I don't have to be nice to you" as he came close to us as he was exiting by the front doors. My daughter was frightened. Thanks to the two wonderful strangers who waited with us outside until my husband showed up. More photos to come & updates. If you need blood work done, I highly recommend you go in at 5:30 pm during walk-in especially if you have children and need numbing cream. You'll get treatment you'll never forget.

We came to the mall to use the playplace and were going to go shopping after the kids played and got rid of some energy but because of this we will never go this mall again. Also couldn't believe the people running the "customer service" station directly outside the closed off play area. The staff seemed to only care about their phones while we were trying to check in to the ridiculous app. Not sure who's brilliant idea this play area waiting app was but it's having the opposite effect that they were after I'm sure. Won't even go to or order from any of the restaurants attached to this mall, keep up the horrible service

Well it is a nice feeling walking there I know most of the shop owners now so sometimes I sit and have tea and it really is like travelling to the orient which is a great distraction to the weather we are having inside. But what people don't know about Dragon City is that at one time in the early 90s it was actually an office building. Plus when they originally constructed the 3 levels they actually consulted with a FENG SHUI master. The mall is said to bring peace or good fortune to anyone who visit. NO WONDER I AM ALWAYS THERE! How lovely, a mall out of the cold, with all the amenities, that brings you good fortune and peace anytime you enter...there is even a karate dojo on the third floor.

Often on my circuit here is the WalMart Superstore, Real Canadian Superstore (and liquor store), and of course Five Guys Burger and Fries. I do occassionally swing by Ikea, Michaels and Marks Work Warehouse. Sometimes, A&W for a chocolate shake. What I value about this shopping center is its easy access from both Deerfoot and Glenmore. Also, I have miraculously never even came close to a parking lot accident in there. Either I'm getting smarter, or they have a layout that is not prone to people running into each other. When hitting the big box stores, it is frequently a choice whether to head to South Crossing or to Deerfoot Meadows. When either trip will do trick, Deerfoot Meadows is usually the first choice. I can simply zip in from Glenmore, and zip out on deerfoot. You just can't beat that access! 6/30

If you had a MAP that was ACCURATE or know the aisles by heart it won't matter. I can (and have) gone two days in a row and not found the SAME ITEM in the SAME AISLE as the day before. IF, and it is a BIG "IF", I can find SOMEONE, ANYONE in an aisle to ask "where might I find____?", I usually get a response of "I think it is...." or "I'm not sure, that is not my department." Or my ABSOLUTE FAVE... "It should be....". "SHOULD BE"...you "THINK IT IS..."....well, I NEED You to KNOW. Not GUESS or WONDER. KNOW. If you work in a grocery store where I have to pack my own groceries, WHICH ORIGINALLY was RCSS's mantra with their advertising cheaper pricing based on "PRICES BEING CHEAPER BECAUSE YOU PACK YOUR OWN GROCERIES". THAT has clearly gone to the wayside because RCSS IS NOT "CHEAPER" by a long shot anymore and hasn't been for a LONG TIME. But, here I am, STILL packing my own groceries as well as HUNT for them. The LEAST you can do is EDUCATE YOUR STAFF to KNOW where items are in the store. I rarely am asking for a specific brand or size, usually a question such as "Cheerios" might be as detailed as I get but I DO EXPECT someone with a "Real Canadian Superstore" uniform on, to KNOW WHERE THINGS ARE in the store they work in. I do NOT think that is too much to ask for. I REALLY don't. I RARELY see them stocking shelves in their blue shirts so I guess they are paid to walk around and "think/wonder/guess" where items in the store are because they certainly are NOT there to HELP, at least not with any certainty. IF I had the time to hunt and go aisle by aisle, I wouldn't ASK for HELP. I would do it myself. The ONLY staff that have been 100% correct & known EXACTLY where something IS, are the staff I loathe bothering as they are the ones packing groceries to be picked up. They are on a time limit & I know I would not want to wait because they were doing SOMEONE ELSE'S JOB rather than pack my already ordered groceries which is a service I PAY FOR. Sadly, I have HAD to ask them & I am clear in apologizing, speaking fast and thanking them profusely & forbidding them to SHOW me. "No, no...you have a job to do & I am super sorry I had to bug you at all as there is NO ONE I can find to help me!". Of course they are ALWAYS kind & gracious about it but if 20 people ask them the same question while they are picking groceries, the items they have are going to be melted, warm or worse, so it is NOT fair to them. I am well versed it is not their job. It IS the staff in the blue shirts job though, yet they can only wonder/guess/think about where something is. THAT is IF you can find anyone and IF they speak ENGLISH. No, I do NOT CARE where someone is from. I am a Nurse and have been for MANY YEARS and EVERYONE BLEEDS RED. I have made it MY PERSONAL mission to learn phrases in several languages that help ME with my job in order to help the patient. So YES, I DO expect to be able to UNDERSTAND what someone is saying when I ask a question. Not too much to ask for is it? Today was the tipping point for this VERY UNHAPPY & overdue review. My husband had to stop to get sandwich meat for his lunches. He stood at the deli counter for OVER 10 (TEN) MINUTES trying to "politely yell" for "help" by yelling "Hello, hello...is anyone working here?". Yelling that isn't polite sounding no matter how hard you try but he tried. I KNOW because I was on the phone with him. He was FAR more patient than I would be. NOT HAPPY. OVER TEN MINUTES for someone to come to the Deli to help him. He said that there was literally NO ONE from Tim Hortons all the way down that East wall that the Deli is on. NOT A SINGLE HUMAN to be found. AFTER TEN MINUTES, someone FINALLY came out of the back.REALLY? SERVICE? EMPLOYEES that actually KNOW the store. By the way, this asking that you have employees KNOW the store they work in, is BEFORE you started Reno's on the Deerfoot Meadows Location. So, no excuse with that detail. NOW, we don't BOTHER TRYING to find anyone because if they didn't KNOW BEFORE reno's they sure in the heck do NOT know NOW! Shape up. The COST of MY TIME is far far MORE VALUABLE than what I "save" with you so shopping at Co-op again is starting to look like a savings in money AND TIME. Money, they will match a price. TIME, THAT is a COMMODITY that even YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO BUY BACK, not FOR ANYONE or FROM ANYONE. TIME is the most PRECIOUS commodity we have and if you do NOT believe me, come visit me in ER and I will be more than happy to show you grieving families that would give ANYTHING for 5 more minutes with a loved one. TIME is a PRECIOUS thing and you seem to take it for granted that your customers don't care. WE DO!
