You'll get treatment you'll never forget. I went in on Friday to get my child's blood work done. I came early (5pm) as the numbing cream needed time. Walk-in was to start at 5:30pm.I was paged on my phone at 5:28 pm. I went in and went to the desk. I waited until I was acknowledged by the man in the dark green shirt. He was at the counter (no one at the desk). I explained I had been paged but needed some extra time for the numbing cream to work. He did not give any eye contact, shrugged his shoulders and was arrogant and passive aggressive in his replies. I politely asked for more time for the numbing cream to work. He shrugged his shoulders. He started getting red in the face, his body was shaking and he was shuffling papers. He got angrier and more agitated the more I asked questions, like "does the numbing cream still work if it has not been on the required time?" He said, "How do I know?" and "I don't know anything about numbing cream." Calmly, I told him I would return to the lobby where I was instructed to wait, and waited longer. No one came and got me for my bloodwork. A female patient leaving the office, came to get me. The staff and the other lady at the desk that the manager was with a patient, then that there was no manager. While I was in the lobby, the lady staff member came out with a lady not in scrubs. This might have been the manager. I took my children to the lobby to wait for our ride. I didn't see the man from the lab come down the elevator so he must have taken an other route. He sat in the lobby, texting on his phone. As he left, I told him his behaiour was unacceptable.' I have worked with problematic behaviour as a career, lol. He yelled back, "I am not working right now so I don't have to be nice to you" as he came close to us as he was exiting by the front doors. My daughter was frightened. Thanks to the two wonderful strangers who waited with us outside until my husband showed up. More photos to come & updates. If you need blood work done, I highly recommend you go in at 5:30 pm during walk-in especially if you have children and need numbing cream. You'll get treatment you'll never forget.

We came to the mall to use the playplace and were going to go shopping after the kids played and got rid of some energy but because of this we will never go this mall again. Also couldn't believe the people running the "customer service" station directly outside the closed off play area. The staff seemed to only care about their phones while we were trying to check in to the ridiculous app. Not sure who's brilliant idea this play area waiting app was but it's having the opposite effect that they were after I'm sure. Won't even go to or order from any of the restaurants attached to this mall, keep up the horrible service

There are fewer restaurants now, less variety, pricier too. My won ton noodle soup was $13, with 5 small won ton and lots of noodles similar to Ramen. #172 While I…read moregenerally loathe most outdoor shopping centres due to lack of pedestrian friendly infrastructure, I actually do not mind this one and I probably give it credit for more stores than it has. I always think the Real Canadian Superstore and Winners are a part of it but I believe that is Signal Hill Centre (across Richmond Road SW). No worries though, Westhills has a cinema, Petland, Rona, Marble Slab Creamery, at least two Starbucks that I know about, Safeway with its own gas station and Starbucks, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canada Diagnostic Centre, just to name some of the larger tenants. With lots of parking at Westhills, it is reasonably easy to park and walk to your favourite store or restaurant. The owners of the shopping centre seem to always participate in holiday decorations which gives it a festive feel. Why not five stars? For starters, it needs more variety of restaurants. With McDonald's, Subway, Moxie's Classic Grill, Edo Japan and others, we have overdosed on the fast food chain stores. Would love to see more local and smaller restaurants including a nice sushi restaurant. That being said, the Taco Bell became a Mucho Burrito so I am forced to make a run for the border elsewhere (I love Taco Bell; I just don't know why). Having local pub favourite National is a nice touch. Maybe they could merge Signal Hill Centre with Westhills and build an overhead walkway between them. The former needs a more pedestrian friendly layout as it is unsafe to walk in. This would add more and smaller retail chains as well as a Lowe's, Staples, and Petro Canada. Both are convenient to Calgary Transit routes 93 and 94 (and maybe others but so far, I have only to taken the two listed) as well as a few subdivisions and housing projects. It works in a pinch but can be busy at times.

Only downfall is that all the washrooms are on the fourth floor and with how the escalators are set up and small elevators, it can be a pain to get up there. There are many key stores in this mall that are worth shopping, the Futureshop, Bestbuy combo is great to check out electronics. For videogames both stores are joined by EB games. The Home Outfitters in here is well run and has alot of usefull stuff. It also has a winners. The mall suffers from a lack of people and this has caused it to lose some stores that hurt abit. The Sony Store relocated from here to Marketmall, it lost it's HMV, and a huge crushing blow was the collapse of Debanji's, a very hgih end food store they had for a while that nowhere else in Calgary compares to today. The lack of foot traffic in Northland Village Mall is nice for a shopper, but it killed off alot fo the retailers or made them move elsewhere. Still, for a stop at Best Buy, Futureshop, or some of the others stores it is great, until the lack of foot traffic causes them to leave too. The layout of the mall is decent, wide walkways, not as much natural light as one might want as it is older style design, reasonable food court with decent selections such as A7W, Taco Time, Subway, Arby's, Kernals, ect... It is a circular mall so you can walk around the circle, end up in the same spot you started, and not have to backtrack past the same stores.
