Due to covid government restrictions, sit in at the mall food court is not allowed. Take out orders only. So as we look around, people have ordered their take out and sitting at benches located through out the mall . This makes no sense at all? Oh well it is what it is. Ahhhh crossiron mills.... Who doesn't love this mall? This is an outlet mall similar to many that are in the states. Lots of people, lots of stores, lots of deals! This time we came to get some shoes and kids clothes on our way back to Edmonton. They have stores for everyone ranging from high end brands to low cost fast fashion. The Michael Kors store, the Coach store, Cabelas, Nike and Adidas and so many many more that always have a good deal and sales. The food court is pretty good too they have tons of selection. Right outside the food court doors is this outdoor tent with picnic tables and these sweet photo ops spots! Great for eating outdoors and social distancing. The mall is really clean too. read more

Very friendly staffs in all the shops! We brought Daisy (my French) into the mall in her stroller, and she was welcomed by all the shops we entered, the Manager at Saks Off Fifth & Coach were extremely friendly, not only did they helped us with our shopping they were both very concerned about how Daisy is doing since she had a stroke a few years back and is not too mobile, hence the stroller. Its very refreshing to meet pet friendly individuals in retail outlets! I will sure to come back for more visits with Daisy next time we are in town! read more

I love this mall it has absolutely everything you need under one roof although it also is so large it means a lot of walking but that way you also get exercise while you're buying all the things you need for Christmas...... I spent over $780 on lingerie in their incredible Victoria's Secret store, I wish I got the name of the cashier who help me she was amazing. This is the view of the gorgeous sunset that we looked at on our way Out of the mall. And this is how beautifully it's decorated for Christmas. The small has everything saying thank you so much... Also I highly recommend the new Filipino place that serves fried chicken and spaghetti. I know that sounds like a crazy combination but actually it's unbelievably delicious and financially ridiculously cheap. read more

On our way back to Edmonton from a visit at the Calgary Zoo, we passed by this outlet. Since I was on vacation, I didn't have any intention to shop, I decided to kill time by strolling at the mall while my company is spending their hard earned money in some goods they probably won't ever need but who knows? Apparently, this mall is one of the biggest one level shopping center in North America. That's means no need to hunt for escalators and elevators to reach from one place to another. This mall is huge so I pretty much had a lot of exercise that day considering we also visited the zoo earlier that day. Mall is very clean with lots of interesting decor mostly cowboy stuff you usually see during Calgary Stampede. One part of the mall has decors showcasing Canadian achievements in the Olympics. There are also nice artworks displayed here and there. I eventually got tired of walking so I grabbed ice coffee from my favorite coffee shop, Tim Horton's. read more

This is first outlet mall I have been to in Canada. They are still expanding. Their restaurants section is still building other than their food court. Compare to US, this outlet mall do not have the bargain as the mall in the US. But in Canadian level, this is very good mall. All stores are enclose in one big building. They do not have cinema. But they have one electronic Game Center - Silver City. The store is very limited. But this mall may be the biggest in Calgary. They are divided into six sections. Each section is interconnected. Easy strolling. Parking is easy. Not many people during weekdays. Not sure about weekend. At this point not much of restaurants choice until the new section is build out. They have two bars for your wait on the love one. read more

Crossiron is a great shopping centre. Lots of stores, a few exclusives such as Bass Pro shop and Brooks Brother factory and with Saks Fifth Avenue Off and Nike Factory coming soon in November 2015. Good choices of food but limited sit down restaurants but with Milestones coming in November will help out. Location is good being on Highway 2 (Deerfoot trail) One floor shopping in a huge circle is nice to get around. Will review again once new stores and restaurants open up. Highly recommend but avoid during long weekends and Christmas as its a gong show. read more

Really don't like this mall. Out if all the malls in the city, this one is probably the worst in all respects: First it is/was supposed to be an outlet and it is not at all outlet in any way. The shops are the same as other places and the products the same. Second, instead of cheating out and building one massive level, they should have built vertical so they wouldn't need such a huge land space. This is a very nice mall. It has been opened for at least four years now I think and I have never walked around here before. The other day I had to go to a baby shower in Airdrie so I thought okay I will make a day trip of going to Airdrie and stop at Cross Iron on my way into Airdrie at 11:00am. Wow! This mall is huge! It took me forever to walk around and see the whole thing. I definitely got my steps in today so I think I will just stick with south centre! Thanks! read more

Huge selection on everything you can possibly imagine... even better is the constant low prices and sales. My only complaint about this mall is that one entrance in the parking lot where everyone leaving has to turn right and then do a U turn just so they can go left. This mall is pretty good. Stopped in to check out the outlet shops only to discover there really isn't a lot of true outlet stores in the mall. Yes a few deals to be had but it was kind of hit or miss. But what I really liked about the mall were the awesome art installations located throughout the mall. Seriously you have to them out. To a cave man incapsulated in ice to a massive glowing glass fire complete with night sky there is a lot to see. I also loved how the floor tiling changes throughout the mall with sections of beautiful glossy hardwood aswell. The found court had a decent selection including a half dozen dine in options. All in all definitely worth your time to check out and conveniently located just off highway 2 and Stony Trail. read more

I remember back in the mid nineties, or maybe it was the late nineties. Big box store complexes were becoming all the rage. I thought to myself, "well no one will ever build a mall in Alberta again." Okay so that's clearly wrong. Cross Iron Mills is a really nice shopping mall just south of Calgary in Balzac. I really like the layout and the design in side, it's big and open. The food court is big, and has a good variety although I've never eaten at the food court. There aren't any big department stores like Sears or the Bay, but there is a giant Bass Pro Shop on the one corner. Its not my thing, but if you like hunting/fishing/outdoor wildlife stuff (or you know someone who does and want to buy a gift for them) its a good place to check. There are several outlet stores, like the Coach store. The first time I went there they had a lineup outside. Its usually busy, but if you like Coach they had good deals. The styles are usually last season or older, but they're lower than a regular Coach and there's usually an additional sale of 30-50% off. Only downside is the mall is always pretty busy, and its a little out of the way for me (considering I'm from Edmonton). But if I'm going down to Calgary I'll stop by Cross Iron Mills to look around. read more

Great mall with tons of options. They have a big food hall with many options from New York fries to sushi, ramen, thai, etc. The mall is shaped like a figure 8 so no worries about getting lost. Sales were pretty much on point with any other mall but I just love the variety of stores and it's a big mall without being overly confusing. Bathrooms were always kept clean. read more

Wow, this place is busy almost everyday. Parking is a hassle like 9 times out of 10, you'll have to scout for a parking spot or wait for someone to leave and then another car will compete for who saw it first or looking for a perfect fit to park. Getting inside this place is fine, lots of people spending money and walking everywhere. This place is a jackpot for outlets and is full of sales not like the ones you see at your regular mall. Another great thing about this place is the unique artwork or statues they placed all around the mall. They even have a babysitting place/playground to put your child in if you need space to shop. I think that's quite neat. Although I'd sometimes rather watch my own child if I had any. As for washrooms, i've only seen them available at the cafeteria area but it's always busy and seems to be maintained constantly with so many people in this mall. Recommended for ladies to shop and the guys to chill out wherever they can find a spot for them self unless he knows what he wants at a certain store. read more

Does everything look bigger in Calgary??? We have Vaughan Mills here in Toronto and the same group owns the CrossIron Mills. The concept is the same...make a huge indoor shopping mall in a round loop with a mix of mainstream and outlet stores. Don't know if CIM is bigger than VM, but it sure looks like it. They have re-done their Food Court and added stand alone restaurants and it's quite a sight to see. If you are in Alberta, there is no PST so you might want to do a bit of shopping - we did. Though it's a bit out of the way, it's a great place to spend a rainy afternoon. read more

Most stores have staff at entrances ensuring you sanitize your hands, wear masks and monitor the appropriate amount of customers shop. The more popular stores, such as Nike, have ropes to control the lines. I can't guarantee that patrons will adhere to protocols in common spaces. read more

Omg lots n lots n lots of shops. I thought it was supposed to be an outlet mall but they had a lot of stores that did not have one sale. But I did get a Guess purse for just $38.00 tax in. This mall was huge with everything from Royal Doulton to Guess to SportsChek. There is so a play area for kids. I recommend here for a fun stroll. read more

Be warned, a time warp exists at CrossIron Mills. Go in to buy a single item and you'll discover that somehow three hours have passed. I don't know how it works but it's real. Tips: It's closer to Calgary than you think. Once you're on the Deerfoot it's as quick to get here as pretty much any other exit. As long as the Deerfoot isn't going through it's usual rush hour chaos, that is. If you like malls, you'll dig this place more than I do. Three stars is a pretty solid rating for a mall in my mind. Every store here is so large, you could probably do all your shopping at any single one of them. Fo me, this makes it hard to pull the trigger. "These pants fit great and are inexpensive, but maaaaaaybe there's a pair at one of the other shops a 20 minute walk through the giganto-mall away that fits even better and is event cheaper!" I like the gigantic arcade and the awesome movie theatres. If they had some better restaurant options it would be a no-brainer for a movie date location. read more

Review #15 of Yelp's 30 Day Challenge 2012 I love this mall. There I said it. It's a 10 minute drive for me, loads of parking (I park by the Homesense & Indigo Entrance) and always look forward to getting some good exercise walking around while sipping either a coffee (Starbucks) or a tea (Teavana - formally Teaopia). Yes there is always a method to my parking madness. They have an interesting mix of outlet stores and regular stores...some of them quite large indeed. The food fair offers a decent variety of foods to choose from with an enormous sitting area. I like that La Prep has moved in, I just wish they were in the food court area and not so far away! I am further amazed by and want to point out how fabulous the architectural design of this mall is. Using Alberta for inspiration the sculptures & attractions are fascinating to look at (I love Art). The only confusing part of this mall (and why I am not giving it 5 stars) is why there are outlet stores since none of the prices within the outlet stores are outlet pricing. They are as expensive as any other store and as such should not be allowed to call themselves an outlet store. Plus Cross Iron identifies they have outlet stores but does not market itself as an outlet shopping mall. Very confusing indeed. We like this mall and we will continue to shop here. read more

Seriously, no other reviews? This megamall located just north of city limits is the be-all-end-all in outlet shopping for basically all of southern Alberta. People from as far away as Red Deer will regularly come in here to get some discount shopping done. If you planning to shop here during the Christmas season, you are in for a blood-boiling, claustrophobic clustercuss of a good time, from hour-long parking queue to crowdsurfing to second hour-long parking exit queue. Giant flagship stores like Bass Pro Shops, Winners and Toys R' Us; factory outlet branches of Gap, Banana, Coach, Levi's; various one-of-a-kind kiosks; gaudy interior design clearly meant to appeal to the rural population of the surrounding area rather than something sleek and fashionable (meaning that in a couple of years, this mall will look even more dated than the 80s retro disaster that is West Edmonton Mall) - yes, Crossiron is pure outdated kitsch a mere two years after its highly feted grand opening. If you love murals of horses and fields and chuckwagons; if you love mingling with the unwashed farm masses during peak season; if you love getting brutalized in a huge mall setting, it is pure hog heaven. If you prefer a more upscale shopping experience, I'd say stick inside city limits. read more

Cross Iron Mills... it's the place to take any visitor to the city. Why? Because they have stores like the Bass Pro Shop (I stared in awe the first time I was in there) and decorations like the caveman frozen in a plastic chunk of ice. I waited a long time for this mall to open up. Once upon a time, I only new it as the Balzac mall, since it's so far north it might as well be out of town. My first visit out this way I was excited to see what a potential outlet mall would be like. Much to my chagrin, there wasn't much for deals to be had. I'm told those often come once a store hits a certain volume of sales. Get shopping Calgary! I'd like more outlet pricing :p. I like that they've thought up things like a kid's play area and a spot for husbands and boyfriends to sit down and watch sports in the middle of the mall while their wives or girlfriends are busy shopping, I also like that the mall is split into different "neighbourhoods". Not exactly a common layout for a Calgary mall. I'll be watching with interest to see the rest of the mall develop. Anyone know if the racetrack is still in the plans? read more

Coming from Edmonton, this place inevitably reminds me of West Edmonton Mall. It has that collosal structure thing and themed areas going for it. Oddly though, it dispenses with the need to have crowds or many customers. Maybe it's packed during the weekends, but midday, midweek, there was no one there... it's very eerie being in such a large building when it's effectively empty. That being said, and I never thought I'd say it... West Edmonton Mall is much more upscale... things are shinier and newer here, but WEM now has full Lacoste, Boss, Tiffany's, Victoria Secrets, 7 for Mankind, L'occitane, Volcomm and True Religion boutiques for example. Crossirons Mills only matches it on True Religion. Though, honestly, how many pretentious douchebags can there be in one province who feel the need to spend $400 on a pair of jeans... jeans that only in a world that irony is dead can be trademarked with a likeness of the Buddha. Most of the higher end brand stores are "Factory Stores" here. Gone are the days of outlets being a sneaky way of getting mainline pieces inexpensively through factory overruns. The "outlet" retail business is so popular that these stores are usually stocked by generic manufacturers making lines specifically for "outlets" and licensing the brand name. That was certainly the case in the Brooks Brothers outlet and the Lacoste outlet. Mind you, I was in the "business" and probably your friends can't tell. In short, Crossiron Mills is big, though not as big as WEM, not nearly as entertaining or even alive (at least when I was there, midweek) and not quite so attractive in terms of brand availability, but I guess the land was cheap. read more

This mall is without a doubt my favourite. It has huge stores and the design of the mall itself is really beautiful. I don't live in Calgary, but when I visit my family, my cousin and I will often go shopping at this mall. I know something that her husband must appreciate is the ample seating that the mall has, while he is waiting for us to finish. It can get pretty busy, and I hate the loudness of it, but the same could be said of most successful malls. A definite bonus is that the corridors are really large, so it's never too crowded. read more

It got over hyped upon its opening and find that the selection of stores is just average. Nothing to loose your top about. I do like the fact that there is a wide assortment of private, non-chain stores and the Tim Hortons helps tremendously. What I hate about it is if you get lost looking for a store, it is a long walk to get to the right "neighbourhood" and I never seem to be able to find a sign that points out where you are or a help desk when you need one. The food court is great. It is huge and there is something for everyone. I also love that there are a couple of outlet stores but like another reviewer noted, just because it says outlet, doesn't mean that they have outlet prices. My kids love the arcade/theatre combo they recently opened up, but find you can never get a hold of anyone if you call in. Really can't stand the blaring music in the trendier stores, namely, Guess. If I wanted to go to a night club, I would do so, I don't need your tacky-ass rave music blaring down my spine before I even set foot in the store. Thanks. read more

"I'm going to the country sun shines down on me"- Bruce Cockburn It must have been a 25 minute drive from Calgary, through wheat fields, under the awesome blue sky stretching 180 degrees. Today was the day we would check out the new mall at Cross Iron Mills, but I didn't realize that we should have packed a picnic lunch too. Upon seeing its profile in the distance, it was far from being a lonely grain elevator! It was huge and was beautiful. Although hundreds of other folks had the same idea this weekend we did not have a problem finding parking for the car which is a really nice plus. This is g-normous mall, is oh so shiny inside, but what impressed me the most however was the interior design, were those the rib bones of a prehistoric dinosaur hovering over our heads, and was that the food court or a food park. It literally had the cleanest and shiniest of floors and the widest halls to manoeuvre on and in. I was most intrigued by the stores that were inside. Forever XXI, Bed Bath and Beyond, Tommy Hilfiger, BCBGMAXZARIA and tons more. The thing that may be the most attractive is the sheer novelty of it all, it's a nice thing to do, you know go for a drive and head to a mall, but the novelty may eventually wear off. I mean I like malls that don't take 30 minutes to get to; I like to go to a mall that is near to me, to get what I need and to return home to do other things. They didn't have that many exclusive stores, and I didn't really get my shop that on. I get the appeal of Cross Iron Mills. It's a huge, huge shopping complex with plenty of parking, play areas for kids, and even a Coach store. But I just don't see anything amazing beyond that. I live near Southgate in Edmonton and I've walked through the food court more times than I can count. Cross Iron Mills' food court is almost identical to Southgate's, except for one or two businesses. It's almost freaky. It also makes me wonder what the big deal is about Cross Iron. I have to give this place kudos for very creative and quite beautiful decoration all throughout the building. It's neat that it's split into "neighbourhoods," but not so neat that each neighbourhood is sponsored by a huge company! Skip the lines, skip the hectic parking lot, skip the screaming children and take a stroll through downtown or along 17th instead! read more

I do enjoy a visit to this mall, it is always spotlessly clean and has more outlet shops to choose from than anywhere I've seen. It's a BIG mall with all you could need and more. They have added restaurants to the mall which was well needed as the food court food is not the best but that's just me I'm not a fan of a food court that malls have. Really? No other reviews? Shocker! I remember all the hype about Cross Iron, that it was going to be HUGE with a race track and will be just as big as West Ed! (At least I think that's what they said). Well the place is kind of disappointing. The store selections is pretty decent I guess, and it's cool that there are so many outlets, but I often find myself disappointed by the selection in these stores. I remember one time I went to Fossil with my brother, I love Fossil watches and figured if I can get a second one at a discount, why not? There was only one watch that caught my eye, and it was full priced. So upsetting. I think the only store that would make me come to this mall is Joe Fresh. Beyond the store selection, I don't particularly like the design of the mall. Yes being an oval is better than being a straight line, but there is only one area where you can go from one side of the oval to the other. So if you plan to go to a few stores during your visit, and their all in completely different area, your essentially forced to do the whole circle with no short cuts, which you may not have time for. Generally speaking, I will probably only take the time to drive to Cross Iron maybe once a year, I don't see it as being any more worth my time. read more

For a Vancouverite, it's very impressive considering the massive size and relatively close proximity to DT (20min). Seattle Premium Outlets would be something similar. It's a combo outlet/mall, probably more of the latter, since it's indoor but the stores are just enormous outlet size! And the choice was impressive, esp. the Coach for Men. Probably not as many brand designer names like the Premium, but you won't be disappointed by the availability: Banana Republic H&M Levi's Victoria's Secret XXI Bath Beyond Guess all of the phone carriers and an amazing food court w/ nice earth-theme decor, no cheesiness here, though still the same kind of food...even a carasoul for the kids...
