But recently I walked by and saw a really nice party dress...perfect for the holiday season. I was in a rush though so I noted the dress and came back about a week later on a weekend. The dress was no longer on display but I found it easily enough on the rack. They had a few sizes left and thankfully one that looked like it would fit. No sooner did I have the dress in hand, did a sales woman offer to start a fitting room for me. A little pushy but after that she didn't bother me so I can't complain. I quickly glanced around the store. There was a lot going on and most of the styles I saw weren't my thing. I think they cater to a slightly older crowd (late 40's/50's +) (they did have a cruise wear section). They also have stuff that I'd consider to be a little more whimsical/unique in design which isn't my personal preference but I could picture some women I know who would love the clothes there. The dress fit perfectly (yay for in-change-room mirrors) and I made the purchase...at just a little over $100 it was a good deal on a party dress in my opinion. I'd recommend shopping at this store on the weekends as it always looks a bit busy during weekdays. Also, during the week they have live mannequins stationed at the door. They creep me out a little bit but others may not mind :)

In the last 2 weeks, I showed up on 2 separate occasions once at 6:15 and today at 5:45 both times store closed. Today (very upset) because the lights were on, 2 ladies working in the store and the doors were locked. I knocked and the moment the saw me, they went to the back room. I was trying to make an exchange which will now become a return and I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.

Danielle's is a great little consignment boutique on 17th ave, you can follow them in Instagram and…read moresee some of their new items as they come in and put them on hold if you're interested which I think is great since you don't always know what you'll find in a consignment shop. They get some really great items from Calgary's fashionable women, often new with tags so it's a great deal. I decided to go after hearing rave reviews on their styling service from a friend so I booked an appointment with Lee online. They called me during the week to check on what sort of things I was looking for and when I came in for the appointment they had pulled several different outfits to get a feel for what I liked and then a bunch of other items to start with. The outfits were really cute and I am not the most stylish person so found this really helpful. Lee continued to pull options and items until I feel like I had tried on most things in the store. I only purchased four items but I really like what I walked away with AND I didn't feel any pressure to buy more which is so refreshing. Overall an absolutely awesome experience and I would totally do it again since they constantly get new things you never know when they'll have new items that are perfect for you.

He is funny, stylish and has amazing fashion sense. If you need anything in the store and it is lacking it, he is very quick to take down your specs and contact you when they do. Fantastic service! Leo's all around is crazy sick, great window displays, and interior design, good area of designer jeans plus we are talking fashion by Betsey Johnson, Free People, Acne, Young Fabulous and Broke, just to name a few. This is a store with solid lines of both men's and women's fashion, but be on the lookout for Leo's accessories; Bling and Da Bomb. Great necklaces in silver with a simple initial hanging in lower case letters, wonderful belts and kick ass bags and purses. They are moving into Aussie fashion, it's the swagger sensation for the new season, and I find that their pieces although pricey are quite unique. Check this Leo out folks; his bark is as big as his bite.

This statement is simply not true, as more boutique style stores have opened in Calgary over the last two years or so than ever before in recent memory. Shops like Brooklyn, Henry, Bloke Clothing among others, as far as I know the only boutique style store that has closed because of the recession is Smyth and Kang. More to the point, Leo Boutique is great, has many brands and styles not often found in Canada such as Acne, but also featuring more common up and coming brands such as Nudie and Cheap Mondays and other great Swedish brands. Great service, the decor is also very simple but equally elegant. This is one of 17th ave's best
