Espy is mostly a women's clothing store, but if you're into denim, they have a wide selection on the men's side. I found store staff to be funky, friendly, fun, and helpful, offering as much personal space as I needed to contemplate any possible purchases. They also offer "closet intervention" services, which considering my casual (and sometimes baggy and color-bending) clothing choices, would most welcome. But only under Gayle's supervision. :)

I bought them last week using a groupon I'd purchased months ago. Always love going in there to see the new stuff as I'm not really a "fashion" guy but really appreciate their help. I'm not always sure what will look good on me based on how it looks on the rack. Megan and Adam are always really helpful and I end up with stuff that I really like. This past spring I called Megan to tell her I was heading to Paris and was having trouble finding a wool pea coat. She told me that they had just been in London and she put her boyfriend in a 7diamonds coat that looked great. She showed me the pictures on the website, ordered it in and I had it in my hands 3 days later. Now that's service. Espy definitely isn't the cheapest place in town but I'd gladly spend my money on quality things that I really like vs cheaping out on just ok ish stuff that I end up not wearing. I can usually expect to go in there looking for one thing but finding others too. Today I was just going to pick up the hemmed jeans but ended up leaving with a new pair of Steve Madden shoes. It was a quiet place, but that ment she just checked up on us a little more. We we're there for 2-3 and did even go through half the store. They have wonderful selection, and sizing. We did see some things that were XS-M, but mostly L-XL. (There were a few larger things.) The prices are such a deal! With was seems to be 1/2 -3/4 off the original price. The also have some hats, a lot of purses, and tons of shoes.

There was no up-sell and no sales pressure, just a genuine and knowledgeable effort to convert my requirements and preferences into exactly what I needed. It was a perfect mix of system, judgement, and tact. I really appreciated the way he coordinated the entire process from selection, alterations, pick-up, and the interface with shoes and belts which is a different department. A special mention to Thelis who helped me select the best-looking leather shoes I've ever owned. Near the end, the owner came out just to introduce himself. O'Connors is a case-study in how a business can successfully use superior service and quality to build loyalty. It doesn't always have to be about price. You just won't find what I received on Amazon.

Retrieved all my clothes recently when I couldn't get a balance on my account after several attempts. I was told yesterday, that even though those clothes/accessories had sold, they had "expired" long ago and therefore NO balance was owing to me. For the record, I extended the time twice (once they extended it themselves-noted on an email- as their system was down and they were transitioning to a new system). My clothes and accessories were featured prominently on their website, on their mannequins, in their window displays and modelled/featured many many times on instagram, and I could see when some sold - so I question that they were "expired" as obviously they were very much still sellable. Regardless, they sold my items recently or in the last 3 months (many designer - Kate Spade, Club Monaco, Aritzia, BCBG, etc.) and kept 100% of the proceeds - sending me a pittance apparently for items that sold prior to expiry . Do not consign with this new owner! If you currently do - I would pull my stuff from that store and demand a full accounting of the transactions. I will be filling a complaint with the BBB this week. I had to give it a 1 start in order to post this review - but this new owner does not deserve any.

Forever XXI is a mix between H & M and American Apparel. The clothes are designed for young, hip girls, and are supposedly sold at ridiculously cheap prices. I figured I should TRY to understand this store, so I recently went shopping at it and I now officially know that I have reason to not like it. The clothes are so ridiculously cheaply made it's not even funny. I bought a shirt for around $20, which really isn't all that cheap, and speaking of cheap, the belt loop hole fell off the second I took it out of the bag. I then tried it on, and noticed that the stitching is already coming undone!!! What a piece of crap. I didn't bother to take the shirt back because I didn't think it was worth me driving back to Balzac, but I did make a mental note to never shop at Forever XXI again.

This is the kind of place your stylish, arty, fashionable aunt would shop. The one who looks a little younger than she really is, who holds art exhibitions and skews a little eastern on the house decor. So they have tons of cool stuff, cut for more mature bodies and that veers to conservative with higher necklines and long sleeves. They've also got quite the collection of higher-end jeans. Anyways, as with all places like this, there is always something to find for us younger gals. Some of their pieces are ageless, timeless and always gorgeous.
