My daughter has had many, many, many doctors in the past, but Dr. Robinson really takes her time, and actually goes out of her way to help her patients. You never feel like she's in a rush, she takes her time to listen, she asks questions, she makes you feel that you and your concerns are important and that she really cares. She is the most caring, understanding, kind, professional doctor, I really can't say enough about her. If she ever changes locations I would travel to where ever she goes. Every opportunity I get to fill out the surveys that they send me I fill them out. I really hope that she is recognized for all that she does for her patients. Upon hearing I have two little kids, she said, "Oh, so who helps you with the children?" When I replied, "My husband - he's great and has a flexible job so he takes on a lot of the kid stuff." She replied (and this is pretty darn close to verbatim): "Oh yes, it used to be that women could stay home and take care of the children. But not anymore. That was better." [This was especially confusing to me since Dr. Dembo-Smeaton obviously works, so I'm not sure why her bias against working mothers?!?!) 2. I asked for a referral to pelvic floor therapy since after my second delivery I had had the common issues with leaking while sneezing/laughing. She said I shouldn't be running at all and I should stop lifting heavy weights (I do the Body Pump class at the Y - not exactly Olympic bodybuilding). I told her that these are things I love doing, and I want to get treatment so that I can go back to enjoying doing the things I love without worry about peeing my pants. She looked at me condescendingly and said, "Well the important thing is that you have two beautiful children." And I replied, "Of course I appreciate my kids, but I also want to not have pelvic floor issues, and I want to run and lift weights ..." and she just doubled down and said, "Well after children things change and the important thing is that you have your family." or something like that. I was completely aghast. Are women not allowed to have a life and hobbies and be active post-delivery?! I couldn't believe how she just blew off my desire to exercise with a simple command to stop running and just appreciate my kids. 3. I asked for an updated birth control prescription now that I had finished breastfeeding. She asked what forms I'd used in the past and I said the ring and the pill, then she immediately said, "OK I will get you Nuvaring." When I replied that I wanted the pill instead, she said, "But the Nuvaring is so much easier!" Not sure why she needed to argue with me over MY preferred method of bc. 4. We were discussing losing weight and she advised, "if you want to lose weight you really need to just focus on cardio." This is such outdated and WRONG advice - it's well established that weight training is healthy and good for weight loss and good for preserving bone density, among other benefits.

The level of patient care in this office is shockingly inadequate. I had booked an appointment over a month and half in advance, only to learn the day before that the doctor does not even work in that office on Tuesdays. After waiting well over a month for this appointment, I was informed only during my confirmation call that the doctor I was eager to see would not be available on the scheduled day. Despite this disappointment, I was willing to move forward. Unfortunately, the office manager enforces strict rules that patients are expected to follow, yet the office itself is chaotic and lacks empathy in addressing patients' needs and pain. I confirmed my appointment the day prior, both by text and phone call, and was assured that I would receive the necessary paperwork by 3 PM that day. However, when it did not arrive, I left a message that was not returned. My appointment was set for 3 PM the following day, and I arrived 30 minutes early to complete the paperwork, which was only sent to me an hour and four minutes before the appointment. If submitting this paperwork prior to the appointment is essential, why wait until an hour before to send it for an appointment booked over a month in advance? It is disheartening that the office seems to dictate how patients manage their time just to see a physician's assistant. Even with my early arrival and readiness to submit the forms promptly, I was denied my appointment. After discussing the situation with the office manager--who frankly should not be in a public-facing position--I was informed that my appointment would not be honored because I was only a half-hour early instead of an hour. I showed her the text messages and explained that the paperwork they promised the day before only arrived at 1:56 PM that day. It is clear that this office prioritizes its own inflexible guidelines over the concerns of patients. This experience has been one of the most disappointing I have ever encountered. If you have the option to seek care elsewhere, I strongly encourage you to do so. During my time in the waiting room, I met an elderly woman who expressed similar frustrations; she had driven from Marietta twice before without being seen. It seems the staff feels they can treat patients without accountability, which is deeply concerning for those in pain seeking medical help. At the conclusion of this encounter, the Office Manager made a point to deliver a sarcastic, sing-song "Have a nice day." I sincerely hope Dr. Mercado becomes aware of the poor treatment his patients are experiencing at the hands of his office staff.

Then, working with Allie has been a great help with my daughter. It's a fine line to tow with a teenager on how to befriend them but also challenge them without getting ousted.
