Please do not have your child's birthday party at this dump! Walking into the place I immediately saw how run down it was. Had I not already planned this, I would have walked out. The "manager" of birthday party met us at the check out, took my almost $500 for a party of 12. He explained things by mumbling, very quickly, walked us to our room, told us the pizza would be there at 1:30 and walked out. He brought in the pizza at 1:30 and we didn't see him again until it was time to tell us to leave. The pizza was like cardboard, and the drinks were warm. He said he would provide water, but didn't, we had to ask twice. The toilet in the girls room had obviously not been cleaned in a very long time, and the floor looked like it hadn't been clean in years. There were supposed to be employees helping at each play area. One was on his phone the entire time and seemed put out when we asked questions on how to play the game. There was one exception to this horrible ordeal; a very kind young man at the bumper cars went out of his way to make our autistic guest feel welcomed. I wish I would have gotten his name, he needs to own this place! read more

Place is a money grabber. Biggest waste of money you could think of. Spend $30 for a few credits. Ended up with 15 tickets. WOW!

I was intown for the weekend and took my niece and nephew here to entertain them for awhile. The place was clean and the staff was nice. The prices point was good, I think we all enjoyed the golf event the most. The only draw back about this location is it is small and the parking can be an issue if you go on a busy day. So fricken fun!! This is my absolutely favorite place to stop on a night where my friends and I wanna do something but can't figure out what. They have laser tag, glo golf, an arcade, bumper cars, and now they have escape rooms and a VR experience (both of which I still need to try). The staff is also always so awesome. Super helpful and friendly. They let you do your own thing (within reason) but are always there if you have any question. I highly recommend!! read more

I have been coming to Zap Zone Canton for nearly 15 years; never been disappointed. They have Laser Tag, Glo-Golf, Bumper Cars and a VR zone. They also have an arcade, which they've recently expanded and added even more games for you to play! Most of their arcade games now use cards which is really convenient because you don't have to worry about carrying a bunch of tokens around. Any tickets you win, automatically go on the card which is super convenient as well so you aren't carrying around a bunch of tickets. Once a month, Zap Zone offers unlimited Laser Tag from 10p-2am. During this time they do custom games and give away prizes. Best time to play is during the unlimited events. Of all the Zap Zones I've been to, Canton has the best staff hands down. Always so friendly and you can tell they love their jobs. read more

Please please please be aware of what you are paying for. My teens went there just to putt putt and ended up with some $25 "special". They didn't understand the fast talking person so they just said ok. I called when they got home and it was literally $8 per person to just putt putt. Be careful!!!! read more

This place has excellent games including a virtual reality section (VR games and a VR roller coaster experience). I would have considered this venue for a birthday party for my kids as their array of video games are great, they have laser tag and glow golf. Ultimately, their staff who were younger teens were impatient with my kids learning how to participate in virtual reality to the point where they both took the device off and asked to stop the experience early. They also seemed like it was a bother to get us prizes and when my kids thanked them they looked at them rudely and did not respond. TL;DR Fun venue, rude staff. read more

This was the first time that anybody in my group had went to an escape room and it was very fun. The set was as expected but the fun and interaction exceeded what we had expected l. John the facilitator was very good and explained everything very well. I definitely recommend this escape room. read more

My first time here was last Thursday and what a great time it was, even though it didn't last that long. I thought $8 was a little steep for how small the course is, but I then take in consideration the "glow in the dark" angle and that its indoors and I think, hmmmm, okay, I can feel this. Thursday had another group of golfers playing at 8 p.m., adults, which made me feel less like a prick, so that's good. They looked like they had a good time too, so that's good. They also had a very nice penny arcade inside with many fun games and prizes. I saw some rooms for parties......if any of my friends plan on throwing me a surprise B-Day party, this place has party rooms, HINT HINT. I also thought that it was cool that the vending machine had B-Day cake candles for only a buck (in case anyone throwing a B-Day rager forgot to bring them). This complex had a lot of cool things to partake in and I look forward to coming back. My highlight though was how nice and enthusiastic the man selling the golf passes was. I'm writing exclusively about the Escape Room run by Zap Zone and adjacent to the Zap Zone facility. The facility was in great condition with some larger checkers and connect 4 available while waiting. The staff were fantastic and took our cake and ice cream, mentioned our pizza was in the oven, and delivered these items within a great timeframe. Everyone ate and had some time to get ready for their time in the Pirate's Curse escape room. Staff were very helpful, explained all the details, and were very good at prepping everyone about the room and how things worked. They went above and beyond in providing me a way to watch the group in the room and were very friendly. Upon completion, we retrieved our cake and ice cream, were provided everything else we needed, and were given plenty of time to finish up. I couldn't say enough positive things about this while experience and I was extremely happy with everything. Thank you for everything John...this is definitely a place worth your time and money! I was very blown away by the customer service that was shown to me and my group for an event held at the escape room and zap zone in Canton. Special accommodations were made, kindness and courtesy was shown while booking the event and throughout the event. Zap Zone is great however Escape Room not so much. 6 of us went on a Sunday at 6:15. After waiting almost 20 min it was our turn. Once inside we were told the projector was broke and to listen to audio. It was hardly even audible and no one heard anything. When we asked for our third clue, the walkie talkie was silent. It took almost 10 min for anyone to respond. At the end of the hour, the attendant came in and couldn't explain what we missed. He said something was suppose to pop up on the projector but since it was broken, that never happened. We will definitely go back for laser tag but we will not come to the escape room again. read more

Came as a part of a school trip, and left extremely satisfied. The employees were great, in particular, Jake was especially accommodating and helpful. Though the venue is a bit small, the laser tag and escape zone are completely worth it. The escape zone is so intricate and cleverly planned, and the new updates to laser tag amplified the experience so much more. The food is a bit overpriced, with a single slice of pizza costing 4.99! I took my 2 nephews here, and despite the $7 fee to play 18 holes in 10 minutes, it's pretty sweet. Much better than any other indoor places I've been. I kept waiting to hear Jimi Hendrix over the loudspeaker singing, but instead I got static. If my nephews were a bit slower, I would have enjoyed the psychadelic art and my white shoes glowing in the dark. But alas, they are youngsters, with no attention span. I did enjoy that in the adjacent arcade they had Ms. Pac Man, which I played while they dumped their monies from Aunt Mary into the dumbest games one can like when you're 5. The one bonus here is they have about 4 ticket taking machines, so you don't have to stand in line to get your 100 tickets in, redeemable for a spider ring. read more

We have played lazer tag once or twice, but we stop in often for a round or two of skee ball. It would be nice if there were some more pinball and video arcade games. Too many of them are just coin-pusher or spin-for-tickets that reduce it to a slot machine training ground. read more

A group of us walked in to play laser tag, and decided to try out the the escape room. The activity was quite interactive and fun with our group age range being between 10 and 21. Although missing some of the pieces, the moderator was helpful when we needed a clue. The room was small, but for the 7 of us it was perfect. There were more cryptic clues than we needed, occasionally throwing us off course (but that could be so it was easier to adjust for larger groups). Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend going back again. read more

We went to Canton's (in Michigan, not sure why it shows up as Califonira) "Pirate Curse" escape room on Sunday (12/19/2021) evening. What a great time! Staff was very friendly and very responsive when we needed some nudges in the right direction a few times. Puzzles were good (not overly hard but still challenging). We started on time and facilities were clean too. I think if I had to make any suggestion, its that one of the keys was kind of tough to fit a door and could use a little TLC. We had to ask if that was the *right* key and they confirmed it was but the lock was a little sticky. Again, not a huge problem and they answered the question for us quickly and we were able to get it to work after wiggling it a bit more. We got out in just under 57 minutes which was pretty good for a group that included a bunch of high school teenagers led by two tired parents. Definitely would recommend to other people. As they have 3 other rooms, we may go back with our group to do several of the others. read more

Worst staff I've ever seen. My boys got a "Free game of Laser Tag" card from school for doing well on their report cards. I tried to take them today to use them (since they expired tomorrow) and they REFUSED to accept them. The manager came over and told me that they can't take them on Tuesdays because it's 1/2 of day. No where on the card nor posted in the business does it state this. The cards actually say "Sunday thru Friday" on them. I pointed out that Tuesday falls between Sunday and Friday and was told "there's nothing I can do". No other attempt to remedy the situation. She finally just walked away until we left. Horrible manager. This business will not get another CENT from us ever again. We were planning on having 2 birthday parties there but not now. Will never go back to the Canton Zap Zone again! read more

I was very disappointed with my daughter's party. While she had fun, it was very disorganized, and our party went over 1 hour due to bad timing and party hosts. The first strike was not hearing from the venue until the day before her party. I'm used to venues reaching out about a week prior to finalize details and billing. Half of my daughter's party left so they couldn't enjoy the full party because of how long the party went on. We were being called to the three activities way later than discussed at the beginning of the party. The party hosts are all young kids, and they were nice don't get me wrong, but they were so unprofessional. Our party room was moved at the last minute, to an even smaller room and it was super HOT in there. My dad asked for us to be moved to another room because the room we had was so tiny none of the adults could sit as their kids played. I was also over charged, I was given one receipt from my party host and misplaced it so I went to the front to pay and they added on $50 to my bill. By that time, I've been at zap zone for 3 1/2 hours for a 2 hour party and said forget it and paid. I will NEVER return to this location again. I was better off going to Taylor. I will make sure to tell all my friends and family to skip this location as well. read more

My son got free coupons. So right off the bat we are all excited. We are there first. No one else in the place. So excited about that too. Then..... We are told no worker. He is late. When he arrives, he does 30min worth of other stuff. We stand just waiting. Finally I go ask and he informs me some other person called to play laser tag and we HAVE to wait . I tell him that's not right. Who knows when these people will show! Finally he takes me kids back. Love the idea of this place. But do NOT love bad customer service! Disappointed! Recently my cousins and I went to Zap Zone for a birthday party. We had a blast the games kept us going for hours. Glo-golf was interesting; I had never gone before. The indoor go-karts were fun too. Best of all the pizza was great! We ordered from Mamas Pizza in Canton, just down the street; they delivered on time, the party specials and wings were great! Didn't get past the front desk!! We have frequented the Farmington location and had great experiences, so we thought we would try Canton with a coupon that we had received. We had the unfortunate experience of misunderstanding the restrictions on the coupon and Chuck, who was working the front desk today at 4pm treated me as though I was an idiot who had a completely inferior IQ level. His arrogance and condescension was so evident that even my kids said that he was "snooty" and reminded them of the restaurant host in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"!! We were so offended by his superior attitude that we just took our coupon back and walked out! If you live in the area and want a great family night, pass this location up and go the extra few minutes to get the Farmington location at Orchard Lake rd. and Grand River. It is much bigger, my kids feel like they have better games, and the people are much more welcoming and friendly. By the way, I own my business and would fire an employee who represented my company in this way! read more

we paid $48 for six people to play laser tag together. our one friend who paid for everyone got into the area and the gun nor vest didn't work. he was escorted back to starting point to get a new gun, however none of the three he tried on were functioning properly. we went to the front desk and asked if JUST HE could have a refund, since he didn't get to actually play the game. they refused and instead gave us a game card to play their crappy arcade games instead. do not recommend, not family friendly. we will not be returning to this location. read more

Let me start by saying prior to hosting my sons birthday party at the Canton Zap Zone I had only been to one other Zap Zone party in Taylor which was amazing. I choose the Canton location because I prefer the city of Canton. In retrospect I wish I had chosen Taylor. I called to reserve my son's party & was told I can have a party from 11:45am-1:45pm. Carly, the girl who took my reservation, told me to make sure my guests are here on time because their first game of laser tag would start promptly at 12pm. I explained that I only have 17 kids & they will have parents & one room will not be enough. Carly said I can reserve for 22 kids & get two rooms. She said I will be given bracelets & when the laser tag games are over I can turn in the unused for a refund. I asked how the games were run because I didn't want my party of 5 yr olds playing with a bunch of 10 yr olds. I'm told it doesn't matter & all parties scheduled at the same time play at the same time. I ask if we can switch times so that my party does not coincide with any other party. Nope, as long as we are there at the same time we play at the same time.They will not run 20 minute games separately, which makes absolutely no sense since they have 20-30 minutes between games in which they could run another game.She told me I could rent out the entire arena but that would be too costly (ignorant assumption on her part). It seems like the liability of having all these different age group children battling in an arena would be far more costly in the long run than running separate games based on general skill level/age...So I explain that if my children will be playing with kids much older I will have adults going in to help out. She said no problem. The day before the party I call to verify. I tell Carly I will be arriving at 11:30am to set up. She tells me no one is let in until 11:45am.What host arrives at the party the same time as her guests? I remind her that she is the one who told me my party starts at 11:45am sharp.I'm fully annoyed by her at this point. Day of the party I get there & wait outside with guests whom are already waiting. At the same time we're scrambling to get in, greet our guests, set up, verify the food order & purchase the coins (no arcade coins are included in the party package which is disappointing but acceptable). The party planners could have at least helped divide them up in little cups for the kids. The party rooms are NOT spacious. Even with the extra room I still didn't have enough space for my guests to sit. The girls who were Party Assistants were mediocre at best. They were efficient when I had to find them to ask for something but I shouldn't have had to ask. In their defense they're young & can't be expected to know what to do and I'm certain they didn't have proper training. They failed to refill pitchers unless asked, they didn't help serve the food (at the Taylor location they put on plastic gloves & pass out the pizza), they didn't clean up the party room between laser tag games so we could have cake after eating. Things I need were not readily available despite telling me they would be, i.e. serving spoons/tongs for the salad, extra plates/cups/napkins.When we were leaving some of the kids didn't have enough tickets to get the items they wanted from the "gift shop". We were told you can't purchase any of the items & you must have the correct number of tickets to get the prizes.That's fine if those are their rules but it was just a little disappointing to the kids.The prizes all 'cost' a ridiculous amount of tickets. My son wanted an iron man mask which is $7.99 at toys r us & it cost 2000 tickets.The party assistant asked me how many bracelets I had left over and I showed her the 5 unused bracelets. My husband paid & I realized the party planner forgot to remove the unused ones.I called& told the manager,Dana,about the mix-up & that my husband was returning.15 minutes later my husband comes out & tells me he argued with Dana because he didn't want to credit us back. Dana claimed that he looked on the printout & we had 22 people go into the arena.My husband told him of course we had more because we needed some adults to go in. When reserving we were told adults could go in with their kids or we would have NEVER planned a party here. Dana tells my husband that these adults must have worn vests.My husband has to explain to this guy that it's not our fault if adults were given vests.His staff is in the arena running the game and it's their job to make sure kids with wristbands are the only ones playing.He was completely rude & wanted nothing more than another dollar.Dana didn't care about customer service & is a true chiseler trying to weasel his way out of crediting us. Bottom line if you want to host a birthday party at Zap Zone & you're trying to find a location steer clear of the Canton location. The Taylor location has a much more attentive staff who are not worried about squeezing every last cent from you. read more

The Taylor location is far superior to this location in terms of staffing. I knew that the moment I walked in and had to wait 15 minutes to purchase tickets to play glo-golf as no one was anywhere near the front counter. I was with three other people and we played some arcade games and a game of golf which was entertaining, but the staff was so bad at customer service throughout the night. By the time we had finished our game and went to the front to turn in our tickets we were completely ignored by all three members of staff who were chatting and completing closing procedures on the store over an hour before the store closes. I had to ask a bearded man (whose name I did not catch) if we could turn in tickets, because at that point we just wanted to leave. He responded with a dismissive "Sure." and walked past me to continue vacuuming the store. Finally I called into the back and a staff member came out to allow us the privilege of getting a colorful rubber ball with the tickets we paid money to earn at the store. I have to say I prefer the Taylor zap zone to this one by far. While the location of the store isn't ideal in Taylor the staff is attentive every time I go in and doesn't casually stroll past a paying customer when asked a question. Two stars for the arcade games and golf. read more
