Wow, what a great escape room experience! I am a bit of an escape room enthusiast and alas this room stumped me at the end. I'm trying to pretend the website doesn't say "typically requires 50 mins to complete, 70 min time limit." Sob. I did The Library and it was fantastic. I've never seen a puzzle room designed in this way- no spoilers!- and the set up and material were unique and very high quality. The concept and world building were exceptional and I want to return for the next rooms that follow the storyline and are done with larger groups. The highlight of The Library is the target group size is 1-3 players. How cool is that?! Perfect for a date (if you're doing this as a first date you're either using this as the ultimate litmus test or ruining a perfectly fun experience for future romantic endeavors) or a great bonding time with your buddy. Maybe you're synchronized divers and need to really line your brains up again? It seems like it would work well for that purpose. Despite failing at the last part of the last thing I still think my husband and I have renewed mind melding. Other relevant details: easy street parking, price is reasonable, lobby is lovely and relaxing, room temp is a bit warm but I found it perfect, bathroom is spacious and very clean, our host was friendly and masked for safety, and the theme was ON POINT. Been here as part of my meetup and our host Maria booked the place for our group up to 3hrs which was great. She arranged some pop n pizza aa well. We divided in to 2 groups each consisting of 9 and after signing up our group entered the room and traversed solving the puzzles in each room and completed it in 58 min which is pretty good time coz everyone is trying it for the first time. Me and five friends did after one of our couples got married! We had so much fun as we progressed through the multiple rooms. We did the Aurora Collective challenge for six or more and it was so immersive and fun. We finished in about 41 minutes and it was so lovely seeing as half of the group had no experience with escapes. We chose the Library and loved the atmosphere and the way each puzzle led into the next one. As this was our first escape room, it was a bit hard for us. We finished half of the puzzles. We are experienced escape room people and we are so impressed with this experience! Patton and Finnick took great care of us on our journey. The designers have been thinking outside the box and advancing the escape room concept. A few highlights: 1. Took our picture at the beginning. Not sure why but I really liked it. 2. Instead of choosing a room based on your experience which can be problematic, they can adjust IN REAL TIME the 1 escape room there to your team's ability. 3. They got the story right. From the moment we met Patton, he was in character. 4. The puzzles were unique and. may I emphasize here, WELL DONE. 5. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. The puzzles and challenges are perfectly balanced to be challenging but not overtly confusing. The escape room offers so many "aha!" moments that you can't help but leave with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. The hosts are particularly welcoming and kind. I had accidentally booked the wrong time and they were able to accommodate my group after we had arrived and realized my mistake by getting me a different time slot for the night, apparently someone else had cancelled and after going through the room I feel bad for them because they missed out. The details throughout the rooms and in the welcoming area are all well thought out and polished. We had done an escape room a few months back while on vacation and our 7 year old was dying to do another for his birthday. Even though Decode is designed for adults they did everything they could to ratchet down the difficulty for these kids. It was still super difficult for them (and many of the parents too) but the staff was incredibly supportive and helpful. I would 100% recommend Decode for a group of adults. We survived with our 8 year olds and had a great time, but it wasn't the perfect fit for kids. read more

This is by far one of the best escape rooms I've been to. I been to at least 10. They have lots of different puzzles and I love how they stay in character. We walked in and asked if they were available and they were very friendly. They booked us right there. The lobby was nice and has a pool table and games to play while you wait. The room decor was great and fit Utah the theme. The challenges were not to easy but not too difficult and everything flowed together nicely. The puzzles were creative and challenging, the theme was magical, and the technology and intricacy was impressive. My family and I's favorite activity to do when we all get together sporadically throughout the year (in different cities) is escape room-ing! Thus, we've seen escape rooms of all quality. We have been to almost all of the Denver escape rooms and others in SoCal, but this escape room was by FAR the most high-tech and engaging room we have done! It was challenging but doable and there was never a time we were amazed by the interactive details of the rooms! Three friends and I just took on this Escape Room and we had a blast! All first timers, we weren't exactly sure what to expect. They keep the details pretty vague until you begin, but that adds to the experience. The variety of puzzles were definitely challenging, but the four of us beat the room in 55 minutes. As a escape room fanatic who's been to at least 10 in a span of 5 months, this was one of my favorites (the other one in Toronto). Best one in the metro Detroit area, no doubt. The adaptive challenge allowed me to not be frustrated as often as the other ones - also Finnick (clue giver) helped us out really well to keep us stay on track. Unlike other cheap escape rooms this one did not have ANY locks but rather super technology involved to open the next puzzles. Some math and common sense problems so brush off your algebra 1 skills before you go! The staff were very friendly and nice. The rooms were super clean and organized well. No malfunctions / misplacement of puzzles which happen a lot with escape rooms with 8-10 different rooms. They watch you and help you out so that's another huge plus! I hope this place gets more people and reviews!!! I'm definitely going to Ann Arbor and Detroit to go to other Decode escape rooms. read more

This is the best escape room I've ever been to. Every puzzle was challenging but not impossible. Very techno -- which I love. They are constantly changing it up. If you have not done the Minerva escape rooms @ Decode Detroit you need to stop reading now and go do it! Our group has done roughly 50 escape rooms and Minerva is in the top 3. The Decode Ypsilanti Aurora Society room was one we were eagerly awaiting to open and it did not disappoint. It was very challenging and fun to do. I highly recommend getting a group together and doing this room. We can't wait for the other rooms to open. read more
