Such a relaxing hidden gem! Food is so delicious, staff is so kind and warming. Can't wait to try different things on the menu!

    I can't, I can't, I can't.... I can't Zand losing you,

Zand in the place where you live Now face UT Think about Persian food, wonder why you haven't been before Now Zand in the place where you work Now face west, think about the place where you live (probably Texas if you're here) Wonder why you haven't been before One of the greatest little home-style places to eat in Texas, and one of the best Persian meals anywhere. Not to be confused with Los Manos (Hands Persian Kebabs), pilots arriving at their destination (Lands Persian Kebabs), or racist anthem singers (boo the athlete that never Stands Persian Kebabs). If Persian kebabs are what you want then Persian kebabs are what you will get. Especially when you come to College Station, because there are two great Persian Kebab shops in town - one of them in College Station itself, the other one is even more homemade and even more delicious, in fact, I'd say it's my #1 place to eat in the whole region. It honestly feels like I'm going to visit one of my Persian relatives, like a grandmother or an Uncle or something. It's just absolutely amazing stuff. They deserve all the credit in the world for the spectacular home cooked meals that they're making. They're some of the friendliest people I've found in Texas, and treated me like family the whole time. Even moreso than my own family does, usually. Their decor is lovely, authentic, homely, cosy, small, perfect. And best of all - the food is second to none. I highly recommend the Kobedeh (Kofte) Kebab, which is delicious minced kebab, but no matter what you order from this wonderful and great value Persian menu, you will probably be utterly blown away by your heavenly meal, as Barbie and I were on each occasion we've visited here. You may think that there's nothing in the Middle East but oil and Zand... but you'd be wrong. There's a lot more. And there's also kebabs. And Zands is where you want to get them from. You know parents are the same No matter time nor place They don't understand that us kids Are going to make some mistakes So to you, all the kids all across the land There's no need to argue Parents just don't understand

Wow this place is incredible. A true hole in wall. I don't think I've ever had food this deeply spiced/marinated. The rice and kebabs were so fragrant and delicious! Get the lamb!!

That was excruciating! Anyway, their menu is short and simple. Two types of Shawarmas (chicken and beef/lamb) and two types of Burritos, at very reasonable prices. The staff is extremely friendly and the best part is, of course, the food. The meat is always juicy fresh and the sauce greatly complements the taste. I am so happy to have two of the best food trucks in town, located so close to my workplace. They are usually busy throughout the day and run out early. So it's better to call in and check before paying a late evening visit. PS: The remaining star is to motivate them to increase their portion a little bit. Such good food should not leave you craving for more due to the portion. (I know I am nitpicking here, and let this in no way discourage you, to try them out.)

There wasn't even the slightest hint of middle eastern flavor, it was something you'd get from taco bell or KFC. Horribly disappointed. My partner ordered the lamb platter. The lamb is very processed and no way to tell if it's lamb or well-seasoned tofu. All on a huge bed of rice with basically the toppings you'd get on a whopper. Definitely nothing special, and certainly not worth going back for. I was so looking forward to more actual Middle Eastern food options in College Station, but I guess I'll stick to Shiraz.

The meat items were honestly, all a but bland, but with the help of some good ole salt, it was pretty delicious. The desserts were ok, pretty sweet for my taste. The staff are friendly and fast. I had heard great things about the cafe at this new location, and had even tried their former location on Hillcroft a couple years ago as part of TooGoodToGo. While the concept is casual, the restaurant itself is very polished and feels like an upscale cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as a huge patio outdoors. We opted to sit on the patio on a (rare) nice Houston day. The tables were spacious and the patio seating was very comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabob and Chicken Kabob specialty platters. These platters come with your choice of two sides - we went for the Fried Cauliflower, Tabouli Salad, Hummus, and Muhammara. The meats were so good and hit the spot. The Kofta Kabob had a complexity of flavor to it; so many spices that blended together really well. I will say that the post-meal burps of these spices were...smellier than usual. The Chicken Kabob was also flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it from the grill. I liked the slight crunch provided by the char along the edges. If I knew how to make chicken like this, it would be my daily meal prep! The Fried Cauliflower had a nice sear to it with lots of flavor. The Tabouli Salad and Hummus were comparable to those I've had at other Mediterranean places. The Muhammara was my favorite of the sides! It is a dip like hummus but also incorporates tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions, among other spices; there was so much flavor to it and I could snack on this all day. The included pita bread was large, fluffy, and piping hot - perfect for dipping between the two side dips we got. Service was quick and friendly. The employee taking our order behind the counter was friendly and gave us the recommendation for the Muhammara - great rec. When our food was brought out and we had questions on some of the ingredients, the staff was very knowledgeable and knew right away what everything was.

Upon delivery to our table (you order at counter) I was pleased to see the generous portion sizes then as we dug in, the flavors were yum! Even though there with many people there, there was plenty of seating and a nice sized patio we should have sat and enjoyed the cool breeze as it's on the East side of the restaurant. I don't think beer/wine or available so it's probably BYOB, didn't ask. The sweets looked really good. Abddallah's will certainly be one of our regular dining spots from now on. I decided to order a mini Persian feast: the beef koobideh with rice, doogh yogurt drink, and a saffron ice cream for dessert. This was my first time trying beef koobideh, and unfortunately, this just didn't seem to be very good. The meat itself was okay, decently cooked, and topped with quite a lot of some spice that I can't quite put my finger on. It was okay. The rice though, that is what really disappointed me. Persian rice is usually amazing, but this really didn't seem traditional and it had a strange taste to it. It also came with onion and a grilled tomato, both solid additions. Good portion though. The doogh yogurt drink wasn't homemade like I had hoped, but in all honesty, it still really hit the spot on a hot Austin day. Reasonable price. The saffron rice was also fairly disappointing. Large white chunks (clotted cream maybe? But they were pretty tasteless), gritty texture, not much flavor. Just not really worth it. All in all, a bit of a disappointing dinner in Austin. I'll have to look for a different Persian spot next time I'm in the area.
