    Chicken shawarma bowl. Yum!
    Ryan C.

Gave this place a shot and I gotta say it was very pleasant! The food was on par hailing from some yummy Middle East cuisine. I got the chicken wrap shawarma and whatever came on it, which was really good! My wife got the same, but in a bowl. She really liked it too. The service was friendly, helping us newcomers try and decide. The inside is very clean and well-lit. Great place for a quick lunch. The only issues we had was parking. I had to park at the back of Starbucks and my wife had to wait to park in front of Wild Pita. There was so much traffic from everything around this restaurant, backed up at the exits, especially. But that is a minor worry when the food is this good.

brand new place! stumbled upon here and had an excellent experience. staff were friendly & helpful, food was fresh and in good portions, prices are reasonable, and everything was incredibly tasty! seating is also quite clean and uniquely layed out with two large tables, a few booths, and outdoor seating available. notably, i really appreciate the variety of sides that they offer for free. i wasn't quite sure if the pita comes with each order (i got 2 pieces, my girlfriend didn't get any), but that's not a problem. we just shared the two and i found the pita to be really nicely soft. notably, when eating at establishments like halal guys, their pita tends to harden quickly but this pita remained fresh and tasty throughout the meal! i really enjoyed the flavors and options here, from sides like potatoes and cucumber tomato salads to tahini, harissa, and (free) hummus, you've got everything you need to make a tasty custom bowl here for a great price. also, i got a split of their saffron rice and quinoa and really enjoyed the flexibility they have with their customizations. their saffron rice had great texture and taste and remained warm and fresh while eating it, which i really enjoyed - definitely would recommend it as a base. thoroughly enjoyed my time here and i will be back! i think naturally, you would compare this to cava given the somewhat similar format, and i can confidently say this beats cava on all fronts for me, price, taste, and options wise. my bowl came out warmer, meat portions were better, and the overall experience was very solid. overall: 10/10 taste: 10/10 price: 10/10* * i purchased a chicken bowl, which to my understanding is a no-extra cost meat option -- so i'll return and give the steak and other premium meat options a try to evaluate those as well :) falafel was also a no additional cost meat option, which was nice to see! overall, really pleased to recommend dining here! will definitely return and update this as i try new menu items & combinations. my girlfriend also enjoyed dining here and liked their juice/refreshing fruit drink options!

It was alright. I visited in the afternoon on a slow day, service was good however portions were very small for the price. Food quality was disappointing as the rice is my bowl was hard, indicating it to be either old or undercooked. Chicken was dry and if you want double of one topping it's +1 (which I was fine with paying!). Hummus/dips were pretty good! Overall just not as good as anticipated, I would definitely prefer cava or nick the Greek due to portion sizing and overall quality.

Steak wrap, side of fries with dipping sauce! Great flavor!!

Possible the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. The service and ambience were excellent. I would recommend to anyone in the area.

Tastes a lot better if you eat it in the dark. Similar appeal to school lunch. Not a viable replacement for Cava so don't get your hopes up.

The loaded fries were good and the portions are huge! Easy to grab, also, as a takeout order.

We were BLOWN AWAY by the number of college students, dressed in their Sunday's best, openly praying over their food before enjoying some awesome chicken. It was SO NICE TO SEE! We ordered a family meal (20 pieces), 2 sides of fries and a chicken sandwich meal. We paid around $40. Great value! The food came out quick and arrived hot and fresh. I had a slight "issue" where I thought my chicken wasn't fully cooked and the manager reassured me that it was just breading but happily remade my sandwich to give me peace of mind. I REALLY appreciated that. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, literally leaving "not a fry left behind." The size of my chicken on the sandwich was HUGE- had to be hanging off the roll by 2" on each side! Staff were phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Love the laid back decor. Plenty of seating inside and some tables outdoors as well. Definitely recommend!

The Cookshack has a different vibe and feels more like a lunch or dinner spot, while Mess is the perfect breakfast place. Alright, who am I reviewing again? Right. The Cookshack has some great options, and my wife and I went for the Chicken & Waffles. I chose the hottest seasoning they had--pretty sure it was ghost pepper--and yeah, it was spicy but didn't make me miserable. There was a lot of food, and it definitely filled us up. My wife got mac n cheese with hers and really enjoyed every bite. The cashier was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is great for a lunch or dinner date. Plus, they have large booths, which we really appreciate.

If you worship at the Altar of Sourdough, I have found the Gates of Bread Heaven…read more I have sourdough across this Land from Florida to California and THIS is the best flavored sourdough I have ever had in my decades of eating. The crust has a chew to it that is firm but gives way soon enough after biting. What it gives way to is a crumb that is soft, textured and smells like a double dose of sourdough yeast. The starter is at least 25 years old and boy howdy, it really packs a punch. So much so, I asked an employee there if they sold starter. I would have bought some to use and grow at home. Enough about their star item ... let's go over the lunch I enjoyed there yesterday (15May26, got a free cookie on their birthday). I had their Crawfish Mac and Cheese in a bread bowl. The pasta was curly and cooked al-dente, as any pasta should be. The pieces of crawfish had a slight, very slight dusting of bread crumbs on them that added a nice texture to the forkful of pasta and creamy cheesiness that is a hallmark of mac n cheese. Needless to say, I managed to finish the contents of the bowl (the plug of bread removed is also served) and about half of the wonderful bread bowl before forcing myself to just stop. The remains were dutifully doggie bagged and brought with me as a snack to be enjoyed on the drive home. I will be in College Station many times over the next four years and when there, Blue Baker is definitely on my list of places to get great bread and a good lunch. There are three in Aggieland, so try them all if you are nearby. Ciao, Darrell
