When my food arrived, I cut the sandwich in half and was honestly surprised by what I saw. The piece of fish was so small that it covered only approximately half of the bun. I asked the bartender whether the portion was really 4 ounces, and she confirmed that it was. I explained that the portion seemed unusually small for a sandwich and, in my opinion, would have been more appropriate for a slider. To her credit, she checked with the manager, who also confirmed that 4 ounces was the lunch portion for the Mahi sandwich. My concern is not that I expected an oversized portion. It is that the portion of fish was so small that I essentially received a bun sandwich rather than a Mahi sandwich. In fact, I normally eat only half of a sandwich bun, yet in this case, the full sandwich contained so little fish that the fish itself barely covered half of the bun. I understand that restaurants have portion standards and that the 4-ounce portion may technically be correct. However, there is a significant difference between meeting a stated portion weight and providing a sandwich that is reasonably proportioned to its bun. I was genuinely disappointed because I expected a Mahi sandwich and instead felt that I had essentially paid for a bun with a very small piece of fish inside. I wanted to bring this to your attention because, from a customer's perspective, the presentation and proportion of the sandwich were extremely disappointing. Just sad.
