The only good things about this restaurant were the waterfront view and our waiter, Juan, who was great. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Out of the 5 or 6 dishes we ordered, only the paella was okay. I also ordered the whole red snapper and had to send it back. They ruined it with an unnecessary sauce that could have easily been served on the side for dipping instead of being poured all over the fish. The charred octopus was not good at all, and the BBQ pork was undercooked and not tender. It's an excellent location, but the food did not live up to it. Definitely not coming back.

Beautiful location with a great view and really nice atmosphere. The service was excellent, Juan took great care of us and was very attentive throughout. Drinks were good and the food was fine overall. One dish wasn't our favorite and the timing was a bit staggered, but we still had a really nice experience. Great spot to enjoy the scenery and a relaxed meal.

The last time that I was here was in the 1980s and it was called Bimini Boatyard which has since shortened its name to just Boatyard. Sat on the outside deck under a massive tiki hut overlooking the water and overpriced yachts. It was a weekend and no happy hour but prices were reasonable for a resort style atmosphere. The three bartenders were non-stop making cocktails and it was fun watching their mixology expertise. Ordered a simple rum & coke with a fish dip with sliced carrots and hot peppers. The veggies were crisp but the fish needed a light sprinkle of salt. The meal was merely a snack. Took some great pics with my wife at the end of the dock near the water. Great 1970's classic rock n' roll was playing throughout the visit. The gender assigned bathroom had a nautical theme similar to the rest of the establishment. Three sparkling white porcelain urinal bowls were affixed against a brick back drop with withered wooden style flooring. Basketball games were playing on the wall monitors. Not a fan of the attendant standing behind me ready to hand me a towel for a tip and not many people carry cash anymore so it was awkward but appreciate the cleanliness of the room. Fun time with the wife at this iconic Fort Lauderdale waterfront bar and will return for the views.

Boatyard is a Fort Lauderdale classic, and for good reason. The spacious, pretty interior makes for a nice lunch, and the outdoor, waterside seating is a perfect dinner view. Their happy hour is nice too, offering a good selection of plates that range from $9 to more. Plus, the happy hour time is great for folks that finish work a little later than 5 as it is from 4-7pm. On this particular day, we got the tuna tacos (2 for $10), the calamari ($9), and the snow crab claws ($11). The tuna tacos are a must get: they are so refreshing and the sauce is delicious. The calamari is nicely breaded and comes with a lot. And finally, the snow crab claws were fresh and a quick way to feel fancy. Overall, Boatyard will leave you coming back for more.

Boatyard has an amazing happy hour! The high seas was very refreshing and the grilled artichokes were absolutely delicious and had such a nice oak grilled flavor. They have a great wine selection for happy hour and truly the vibes are so fun. Each Thursday is ladies night from 7-10 and the last Thursday of every night they bring a guy out on the jet pack on the intercoastal and do lights and sparklers to a DJ. Such a fun experience! Highly recommend!

Boatyard is a solid spot in Fort Lauderdale, but I'd definitely recommend making a reservation--even during the week. We came in with a party of 11, and it was clear they stay pretty busy. Service was good across the board, especially considering the size of our group. The staff kept things moving and handled everything well. The food overall was very good. One steak came out a bit overcooked, but it still had good flavor. The standout for me was the fire-grilled swordfish--it was recommended, and it absolutely delivered. Really well prepared and worth ordering. We also tried the oysters and calamari, both of which were solid. No complaints there. The restaurant itself is clean, and a nice touch was the restroom attendant--everything was spotless and well maintained, which you don't always see anymore. Pricing is a little on the high side for what it is, but that seems to be the norm in Fort Lauderdale these days. Overall: Good food, solid service, and a place I'd come back to--just plan ahead and book a reservation.

Great service, fresh food, and a cool vibe to start out vacation out right. Definitely recommend the captains tower.

Can you say FUN TIMES? So many years ago this was my nightly place with my girls but came here with my hubby to sit out in the tiki hut on the water. Took the hubby on the dock to take some pics. Had an aperol spritz with a fish dip - veggies were nice but the fish was not salty enough but good portions. Service was fast but no discussion really from the bartender. The restaurant resembled a shipyard kinda like an upgraded Quarterdeck .

If you're looking for a great seafood, this is your place. Taste like it just jumped out of the ocean onto my plate. The presentation of each entrée was very impressive. The service was exceptional.

I wish I could rate Boatyard a zero. The service was shockingly slow. We waited 25 minutes at the bar before anyone even acknowledged us. The bar back was super friendly but couldn't take our order, which wasn't his fault. When the bartender finally appeared, she proceeded to serve three groups who arrived after us. After forgetting our order, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. The drinks are already overpriced at $18, but the terrible service made it even worse. We had a private room reserved, but the food server acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there. Overall, it was an expensive tab for a really cheap experience. I won't be back.

We stayed in Ft Lauderdale as the beginning of our cruise vacation. We like to find the best dining and Boatyard stood out. I was drawn to the menu. Unfortunately the things I really wanted were sold out. (This is a common theme we've experienced in Ft Lauderdale though). It took a while to finally get a server. I ordered the caviar olive martini. It was fabulous! Highly recommend this martini! I don't remember what entree I wanted at first, but several things were sold out. What we did have was good though. See photos. I really wanted to try their key lime pie dessert but that too was sold out. Our server was sweet and boxed me a piece of their catering key lime pie slice but it was very average. I will definitely give this another try! They had been very busy, service was slow and several menu items sold out. But I still give them a high 4 stars because the food and drinks we did have were excellent! It was just an unexpected extra busy night for them. I can see me giving this place 5 stars easily.

Everything came out piping hot, quickly, and you can tell the food and drinks are really thoughtfully crafted. What stood out most, though, was the customer service. The three main staff members Drew, Mel, and Darian (I think?) were incredible. Every single one of them went above and beyond for every guest the entire time. When we arrived, there were just a couple tables outside, but once it started raining, they seamlessly accommodated everyone inside without missing a beat. The vibe is such a cool mix, neighborhood spot meets speakeasy meets tiki with a slightly elevated feel, but still super comfortable. Everyone in the place seemed to know each other or quickly became friends. The music was great, and by 7:30 the live entertainment started, he was funny, engaging, and talented. We got there just in time to catch the tail end of happy hour for our first drink, and from there it just kept getting better. Drew, the bartender, even went out of his way to make me a specialty drink I had seen on Yelp that's no longer on the menu, such a thoughtful touch. By 7:30 on a Wednesday, the place was packed, which says everything. Exceptional service, amazing food, great drinks, and an all around fun, welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back.

The bar and restaurant itself has a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I ordered the tuna appetizer, but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. To their credit, the staff handled it very professionally and took it back without any issue, which I appreciated. The rest of the table had a much better experience with their meals. The steak and salads especially got good reviews from everyone and looked very well prepared. Even though my dish missed the mark, the service and atmosphere were solid enough that I'd still consider giving eTwic another try in the future. Sometimes one item just doesn't hit, and there were definitely enough positives about the restaurant to make me curious to come back and try something different next time. I know that one friend at the table really enjoys this place so I must believe that she has good taste!

It's very busy and loud there, though, if you are eating indoors at the bar like I was. The bartenders and barbacks are very busy. The restaurant is known for something called "Scoobies" which per Google Gemini are "crab claws (traditionally blue crab or snow crab) that have been partially de-shelled--leaving just the "pincher" as a handle--and sautéed in a rich sauce of garlic, butter, and olive oil with crushed red pepper and scallions." I didn't get the Scoobies because I was apprehensive about how difficult they would be to eat. My dishes were fried oysters, fish tacos, and coconut shrimp platter. They were all fine, but unremarkable. The platter comes with fries and cole slaw as listed, but when I said to the bartender that I didn't need cole slaw, just extra fries, he offered/clarified that I could substitute another side instead, so I went with broccoli. I did notice that there were many flies flying around when my shrimp platter came out. One of the other bartenders put out a plate of hot sauce to repel the flies, which helped. The place is famous and sells its own merchandise like shirts and hats. It is not located near other restaurants, and you'll have to walk fifteen minutes or get an Uber if you are discouraged by the waiting time.
