Had the most beautiful night at the Boatyard! My best friend and I are in town for a concert tomorrow evening, but could not leave Ft. Lauderdale without checking out a local upscale restaurant. We headed over to the Boatyard, and had such a great evening! We had a reservation for 7:45, but came a little earlier, and were able to get sat around 7:20! We originally requested patio seating due to the beautiful view of the water, but due to South Florida weather, we decided a seat indoors would ultimately be best. Our server Juan provided us with great service! He was very kind, and made sure the dirty martini i ordered, was in fact FILTHY! We ordered the parmesan fries and Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, and they came out hot and fresh. Our party of four also shared the ceviche which was incredibly flavorful and decorated to perfection!! The highlight of the night was my center cut filet cooked medium, with the most PERFECT chimichurri sauce. My family makes fresh chimichurri, so it's safe to say I am not always easily impressed, but this was one of the best ones I've ever tried!! We left the restaurant full and satisfied. Because the weather cleared up nicely, we were able to get some nice pictures outside by the water! 10/10 night! Pro tip: Valet parking is only $10, and parking was so difficult to find on our own. Ft. Lauderdale~ This cool upscale restaurant was located just down the street from our hotel. We went early because we knew it was going to be very busy and we wanted to sit in the bar. Food was decent but a little bit too sweet for both our entrée and the appetizer tacos. A lot of sweet sauces that we definitely didn't enjoy. The appetizer was fresh tuna in cute little taco shells. We tried the clam chowder and it was out of this world delicious!!! I am a clam chowder snob so I know!! We shared an entrée. Shoyu glazed Sea Bass. Way overly sweet. I actually didn't even finish this plate. My whiskey Creek cocktail was overly sweet as well. The next one I had, I asked her to ease up on the simple syrup. Much better the second time around. We came for a friends birthday. I really wanted to sit outside but it was a 30min wait and we were starving. Parking is very easy, our waiter was super nice and helpful with recommending things. We got the seafood tower that was very filling. I wanted to try so many things on the menu but couldn't order any more, so I'll have to go back! Matty helped us during lunch hours and was super attentive in making sure we had everything we needed. The food came out in a timely manor and was so fresh! I couldn't resist ordering two servings of the tuna tacos which were a highlight for me. My friend opted for two orders of oysters and a shrimp cocktail. We couldn't pass up the truffle fries they were a must have! I paired my meal with a lovely crisp glass of wine, which complemented the flavors perfectly. The bartender was done to earth and accommodating. The overall atmosphere was vibrant and enjoyable. However, I did have one minor concern. The restaurant is dog friendly and while I appreciate that for the dog lovers it did lead to a lingering smell of dogs after one group left. It was bit off putting for us and we decided to leave early and get more drinks elsewhere. I'm becoming less fond of pets in dining spaces. Nonetheless, the experience was mostly positive and the delicious food certainly made up for it before the smell took over. read more

Wife and I went to this place on Thursday night and oh what a scene it was. first of all we decided to eat in the bar which made it a lot of fun. Then it turned into a pick up joint, which was so much fun to watch. so if you're looking for a guy or a gal, this might be a great place to go on a Thursday night. The outfits are amazing. As for the food, wife had the seafood ceviche and she thought it was fantastic. She loved every bit of it she said the shrimp was her favorite. I had the grouper and I asked them to sub in the rice which they did happily for the potatoes and that was a delicious meal as well. We chose Boatyard in Fort Lauderdale to celebrate my cousin's graduation, and what a choice she made! From start to finish, this place delivered on every level. We opted to sit outside, since it is waterfront and even though it was a hot summer day, it was surprisingly manageable since our covered table made all the difference while we enjoyed the stunning waterfront views. We kicked things off with cocktails, and some wine and the Sun Kissed Cocktail was an excellent choice. Not only was it delicious and refreshing, but the presentation was absolutely stunning . a real rose embedded inside an ice cube. It was almost too beautiful to drink... almost. For appetizers, we went with the Tropical Ceviche and the Tuna Tacos, and both were incredible. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and I loved the mango touch that both dishes shared as it added the perfect tropical sweetness. Then came the entrees, we shared the Shoyu Glazed Sea Bass served with a rice pilaf, edamame purée, bok choy, and shiitake mushrooms, this fish was literally melt-in-your-mouth perfection. We also shared the Lobster Diavolo Pasta which was equally impressive and packed with generous chunks of lobster throughout the pasta, plus a whole small lobster to crack into. And then there were the side of Brussels Sprouts ... honestly, I never thought I'd be raving about a side dish, but here we are. Served shredded rather than whole, and tossed in the most incredible sauce, these were hands down some of the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had in my life. A must-order. My husband and I returned here at the recommendation of our daughter and son-in-law. Our previous experience was great as far as we can remember this experience not so much. Our food was tasty. I had Bronzino and it was very good. My husband had New York strip both meals were very good. Unfortunately our service was not so good. Our server was not very attentive. We reserved our group in advance, and received a call two hours before with the "rules" for a party of 5 or more. Most of it was expected, but it is also what causes a 3 star review. To start our experience, we arrived early and asked for outdoor seating, which was available. Our waiter came by and I asked for water for everyone along with a starter. Our waiter brought water, but only filled the four glasses on the table and quickly took off, leaving me (in the middle with no glass or setup), with nothing to drink. The app was also delivered and the server took off quickly before I had a chance to ask for anything. The starter was a finger food that was sticky, so I could not start without a plate and napkin. We ordered drinks too, most of which were DELICIOUS - I'm thinking of you, Golden Old Fashioned and Sandbar Spritz! The Island Hopper, not so much. Couldn't put our finger on it, but just not right for either of those who ordered, nor any of the others who tasted it. For apps we had the Bimini Bread, which is always outstanding, and the Kingfish Spread, which was also delicious. Once the fish spread was delivered however, we began to attract a lot of flies. We watched as another table had fans delivered to keep flies away. We ordered our entrees, including Paella and Chop Salads. By now the flies were quite bothersome, so we asked for help, and the server finally brought one fan over. When it was dessert time, despite having made notice in the reservation, it was quite obvious that our server had no idea we were celebrating. I had to specifically ask for dessert menus, and he never offered a dessert. We had the Key Lime Baked Alaska - just ok, and the Butterscotch Bread Pudding. Also just ok. The service on this night was sorely lacking and led to a negative experience. It's interesting that for a party of 5 or more, there is a mandatory 18% service charge. I haven't tipped less than 20% since Covid. Had they NOT included the mandatory tip, I still would have tipped 20%, but honestly, I think our server deserved considerably less (we are talking about a bill over $400.). Boatyard was always my Ft Lauderdale go-to, but I think we will branch out to some other restaurants after this experience. Very disappointing for the price paid to have such poor service. read more

We're locals and have been coming here on and off for almost two decades, including hosting numerous company events here. The menu hasn't changed much, but the food has always been consistent and generally good. Recently, my husband and I decided to try brunch again after several years. Our research showed that the bottomless mimosas could be upgraded to Moët for an additional $40 per person, which was one of the reasons we chose to go. Unfortunately, we were told this was no longer offered. Our server even took my phone, with the information clearly displayed, to the manager, who declined to honor it. Yelp reviews suggest we aren't the only guests who have encountered this. Promotions change, that's understandable. What was disappointing was the response. My philosophy in customer service has always been: if a customer presents reasonable evidence of an advertised offer, honor it, then correct the information going forward. Between my friends and I, Boatyard is our favorite destination on Friday nights, and also Thursday nights since it is ladies night. Especially when there is a big group, I can't think of any other place that can accommodate a large crowd without breaking a sweat. First, the view is amazing, you can walk on the dock, and if yoy go at the right time, take a photo right before sunset. The drinks are always good, and the bartenders are very efficient and hardworking. There is an inside area and an outside area, depending on how you feel about the weather. The last time that I was here was in the 1980s and it was called Bimini Boatyard which has since shortened its name to just Boatyard. Sat on the outside deck under a massive tiki hut overlooking the water and overpriced yachts. It was a weekend and no happy hour but prices were reasonable for a resort style atmosphere. The three bartenders were non-stop making cocktails and it was fun watching their mixology expertise. Ordered a simple rum & coke with a fish dip with sliced carrots and hot peppers. The veggies were crisp but the fish needed a light sprinkle of salt. The meal was merely a snack. Took some great pics with my wife at the end of the dock near the water. Great 1970's classic rock n' roll was playing throughout the visit. The gender assigned bathroom had a nautical theme similar to the rest of the establishment. Three sparkling white porcelain urinal bowls were affixed against a brick back drop with withered wooden style flooring. Basketball games were playing on the wall monitors. Not a fan of the attendant standing behind me ready to hand me a towel for a tip and not many people carry cash anymore so it was awkward but appreciate the cleanliness of the room. Out of the 5 or 6 dishes we ordered, only the paella was okay. I also ordered the whole red snapper and had to send it back. They ruined it with an unnecessary sauce that could have easily been served on the side for dipping instead of being poured all over the fish. Boatyard has an amazing happy hour! The high seas was very refreshing and the grilled artichokes were absolutely delicious and had such a nice oak grilled flavor. They have a great wine selection for happy hour and truly the vibes are so fun. Each Thursday is ladies night from 7-10 and the last Thursday of every night they bring a guy out on the jet pack on the intercoastal and do lights and sparklers to a DJ. Such a fun experience! One steak came out a bit overcooked, but it still had good flavor. The standout for me was the fire-grilled swordfish--it was recommended, and it absolutely delivered. Really well prepared and worth ordering. We also tried the oysters and calamari, both of which were solid. No complaints there. The restaurant itself is clean, and a nice touch was the restroom attendant--everything was spotless and well maintained, which you don't always see anymore. Pricing is a little on the high side for what it is, but that seems to be the norm in Fort Lauderdale these days. I took my man to brunch for his birthday on Sunday August 2nd to Boatyard. Plenty of parking spots in the lot, they do offer valet as well, and entering the building there are some stairs. Once, inside of Boatyard restaurant the ambiance of the restaurant very beachy, the beach decor, the smells like your on a beach, the women restroom is spacious, and it was very clean when I was there. I decided to have brunch outside on their patio under an umbrella. Going down to the patio there are few stairs, and on the weekends a live DJ spinning the hottest jams. The table we sat at was very spacious for two guest. I ordered the bottomless mimosas which is a 2hr limit according to the website. The service from the Server Flor C was okay especially when I ordered the bottomless mimosas she could have informed us the orange juice is very pulpy. For, our brunch I ordered lobster roll came out cold, I didn't like the lobster roll taste nor the lettuce already in it, and when I was ordering the lobster roll the Server did informed me it's served cold. My man ordered the steak and eggs - petite NY steak, truffle scrambled eggs, croissant toast, and hollandaise sauce. He loved his meal especially his tender delicious steak. When the Server Flor C came back to check on us I informed to her that the OJ is too pulpy exchange the orange juice for pineapple. The pineapple option was much better. While having brunch outside I did see a pelican, my first time seeing a pelican in real life that was really cool. I wish I could rate Boatyard a zero. The service was shockingly slow. We waited 25 minutes at the bar before anyone even acknowledged us. The bar back was super friendly but couldn't take our order, which wasn't his fault. When the bartender finally appeared, she proceeded to serve three groups who arrived after us. After forgetting our order, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. The drinks are already overpriced at $18, but the terrible service made it even worse. We had a private room reserved, but the food server acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there. Overall, it was an expensive tab for a really cheap experience. I won't be back. read more

Their happy hour is nice too, offering a good selection of plates that range from $9 to more. Plus, the happy hour time is great for folks that finish work a little later than 5 as it is from 4-7pm. On this particular day, we got the tuna tacos (2 for $10), the calamari ($9), and the snow crab claws ($11). The tuna tacos are a must get: they are so refreshing and the sauce is delicious. The calamari is nicely breaded and comes with a lot. And finally, the snow crab claws were fresh and a quick way to feel fancy. Overall, Boatyard will leave you coming back for more. read more

Just gonna make this brief as the shit-show that transpired yesterday was something no diner should experience. let alone father on fathers day. Kids gave me a choice of these two restaurants, sadly I chose the Boatyard. Reservation at 1:30, we arrived, seated, had appetizers on the table in 25 minutes. Everything went to shit afterwards. Almost 2.5 hours later dinner arrived. While the food was good, our time is valuable. We figured 1.5 hours for dinner which left enough time for us to do other things for Fathers day. We left the Restaurant at almost 5:00 PM. We were told that an error in electronics was the culprit. Sadly John the manager didn't realize we were sitting by the kitchen and could see the food coming and going. Somebody was lying about what was going on . . . After complaining, our meal was comped.
