We're locals and have been coming here on and off for more than 20 years, including hosting numerous company events here. The menu hasn't changed much, but the food has always been consistent and generally good. Recently, my husband and I decided to try brunch again after several years. Our research showed that the bottomless mimosas could be upgraded to Moët for an additional $40 per person, which was one of the reasons we chose to come. Unfortunately, we were told this was no longer offered. Our server even took my phone, with the information clearly displayed, to the manager, who declined to honor it. Yelp reviews suggest we aren't the only guests who have encountered this. Promotions change, that's understandable. What was disappointing was the response. My philosophy in customer service has always been: if a customer presents reasonable evidence of an advertised offer, honor it, then correct the information going forward. Came here for lunch to visit my mom's friend from New York. I had an amazing time. First off the service was impeccable... Matty helped us during lunch hours and was super attentive in making sure we had everything we needed. The food came out in a timely manor and was so fresh! The ceviche did have a little spice to it so be careful! I also got the Greek salad and muscles.... I wish the Greek salad had more it seemed a little small but it was still very pleasant. We had a wonderful dining experience here! The outdoor seating is absolute perfection--shaded trees lined with lights overlooking a scenic waterway filled with boats. My husband and I returned here at the recommendation of our daughter and son-in-law. Our previous experience was great as far as we can remember this experience not so much. Our food was tasty. I had Bronzino and it was very good. My husband had New York strip both meals were very good. Unfortunately our service was not so good. Our server was not very attentive. She had an assistant to pay attention to the tables around us, but not to us. We were highly disappointed. I stopped by Boatyard with a few friends to enjoy their happy hour menu and I must say, the food was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't resist ordering two servings of the tuna tacos which were a highlight for me. My friend opted for two orders of oysters and a shrimp cocktail. We couldn't pass up the truffle fries they were a must have! I paired my meal with a lovely crisp glass of wine, which complemented the flavors perfectly. The bartender was done to earth and accommodating. The overall atmosphere was vibrant and enjoyable. However, I did have one minor concern. The restaurant is dog friendly and while I appreciate that for the dog lovers it did lead to a lingering smell of dogs after one group left. It was bit off putting for us and we decided to leave early and get more drinks elsewhere. I'm becoming less fond of pets in dining spaces. We opted to sit outside, since it is waterfront and even though it was a hot summer day, it was surprisingly manageable since our covered table made all the difference while we enjoyed the stunning waterfront views. We kicked things off with cocktails, and some wine and the Sun Kissed Cocktail was an excellent choice. Not only was it delicious and refreshing, but the presentation was absolutely stunning . a real rose embedded inside an ice cube. It was almost too beautiful to drink... almost. For appetizers, we went with the Tropical Ceviche and the Tuna Tacos, and both were incredible. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and I loved the mango touch that both dishes shared as it added the perfect tropical sweetness. Then came the entrees, we shared the Shoyu Glazed Sea Bass served with a rice pilaf, edamame purée, bok choy, and shiitake mushrooms, this fish was literally melt-in-your-mouth perfection. We also shared the Lobster Diavolo Pasta which was equally impressive and packed with generous chunks of lobster throughout the pasta, plus a whole small lobster to crack into. And then there were the side of Brussels Sprouts ... honestly, I never thought I'd be raving about a side dish, but here we are. We reserved our group in advance, and received a call two hours before with the "rules" for a party of 5 or more. Most of it was expected, but it is also what causes a 3 star review. To start our experience, we arrived early and asked for outdoor seating, which was available. Our waiter came by and I asked for water for everyone along with a starter. Our waiter brought water, but only filled the four glasses on the table and quickly took off, leaving me (in the middle with no glass or setup), with nothing to drink. The app was also delivered and the server took off quickly before I had a chance to ask for anything. The starter was a finger food that was sticky, so I could not start without a plate and napkin. We ordered drinks too, most of which were DELICIOUS - I'm thinking of you, Golden Old Fashioned and Sandbar Spritz! The Island Hopper, not so much. Couldn't put our finger on it, but just not right for either of those who ordered, nor any of the others who tasted it. For apps we had the Bimini Bread, which is always outstanding, and the Kingfish Spread, which was also delicious. Once the fish spread was delivered however, we began to attract a lot of flies. We watched as another table had fans delivered to keep flies away. We ordered our entrees, including Paella and Chop Salads. By now the flies were quite bothersome, so we asked for help, and the server finally brought one fan over. When it was dessert time, despite having made notice in the reservation, it was quite obvious that our server had no idea we were celebrating. I had to specifically ask for dessert menus, and he never offered a dessert. We had the Key Lime Baked Alaska - just ok, and the Butterscotch Bread Pudding. Also just ok. The service on this night was sorely lacking and led to a negative experience. It's interesting that for a party of 5 or more, there is a mandatory 18% service charge. I haven't tipped less than 20% since Covid. Had they NOT included the mandatory tip, I still would have tipped 20%, but honestly, I think our server deserved considerably less (we are talking about a bill over $400.). Between my friends and I, Boatyard is our favorite destination on Friday nights, and also Thursday nights since it is ladies night. Especially when there is a big group, I can't think of any other place that can accommodate a large crowd without breaking a sweat. First, the view is amazing, you can walk on the dock, and if yoy go at the right time, take a photo right before sunset. The last time that I was here was in the 1980s and it was called Bimini Boatyard which has since shortened its name to just Boatyard. Sat on the outside deck under a massive tiki hut overlooking the water and overpriced yachts. It was a weekend and no happy hour but prices were reasonable for a resort style atmosphere. The three bartenders were non-stop making cocktails and it was fun watching their mixology expertise. Ordered a simple rum & coke with a fish dip with sliced carrots and hot peppers. The veggies were crisp but the fish needed a light sprinkle of salt. The meal was merely a snack. Took some great pics with my wife at the end of the dock near the water. Great 1970's classic rock n' roll was playing throughout the visit. The gender assigned bathroom had a nautical theme similar to the rest of the establishment. Three sparkling white porcelain urinal bowls were affixed against a brick back drop with withered wooden style flooring. Basketball games were playing on the wall monitors. Not a fan of the attendant standing behind me ready to hand me a towel for a tip and not many people carry cash anymore so it was awkward but appreciate the cleanliness of the room. The only good things about this restaurant were the waterfront view and our waiter, Juan, who was great. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Out of the 5 or 6 dishes we ordered, only the paella was okay. I also ordered the whole red snapper and had to send it back. They ruined it with an unnecessary sauce that could have easily been served on the side for dipping instead of being poured all over the fish. Boatyard has an amazing happy hour! The high seas was very refreshing and the grilled artichokes were absolutely delicious and had such a nice oak grilled flavor. They have a great wine selection for happy hour and truly the vibes are so fun. Each Thursday is ladies night from 7-10 and the last Thursday of every night they bring a guy out on the jet pack on the intercoastal and do lights and sparklers to a DJ. Such a fun experience! Almost 2.5 hours later dinner arrived. While the food was good, our time is valuable. We figured 1.5 hours for dinner which left enough time for us to do other things for Fathers day. We left the Restaurant at almost 5:00 PM. We were told that an error in electronics was the culprit. Sadly John the manager didn't realize we were sitting by the kitchen and could see the food coming and going. Somebody was lying about what was going on . . . After complaining, our meal was comped. While we appreciate that, we can never get back the time and what was planned afterwards. Just left a bad taste in our mouths, especially this dads! read more

It rained a bit and even though it stopped they closed the patio :( We sat in the back room which had a lot of windows though so it was still a nice view of the sunset and water. Our server (Daniel? Can't remember unfortunately) was great - he took photos of us when we asked, using our phone and our instax Polaroid which was so sweet, even pulled a sharpie out of his pocket so i could write the place and date on them. i love the way the staff work together as a team, one person might take your order, someone else delivers the food/checks in on you, etc. - we never had to wait long when we needed something. I ordered the full snapper it was so good, perfectly golden crispy on the outside and tender meat on the inside. I would have loved the option to pair it with something besides rice but the dill rice itself was really good. Mostly the sides are à la carte. The bolognese was also delicious, as was the swordfish. The bread is also sweet and delicious, used to be free, now it's $8 for a tiny loaf. Overpriced for some bread. The full snapper was $59, most entrees are 40-50. It's tucked away by the river next to an actual boatyard. So I'm in Fort Lauderdale for a couple of days for business, staying at the Renaissance Hotel. The first night for dinner was Finnegan's, the second... hmmm...what to do. Check out my friends at Yelp, and learn the Boatyard is highly rated. Better yet, it's about a two minute walk from the hotel. You can't beat that. I get there around 5 PM and sit at the bar. It's a beautiful place. On the water, very open, good Florida vibe. The bartenders were absolutely fantastic, introduced themselves, remembered my name, great service. And the Boatyard also has a top-notch happy hour menu with drink specials, and food specials too. So I am all in. Four oysters for 10 bucks? Check. Delicious. I did tell the bartender that the oyster shuckers need to thoroughly cut the oyster from the shell, small detail but I'm a princess. Also... tacos? Check. Delicious. For an entrée I ordered the paella. The bartender recommended it, and it was really good. Lots of seafood, the rice is buttery, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant has nice wood floors, high ceilings and lots of light. The service was very fast, friendly and helpful. We loved the cocktails like the Whiskey Creek. Delicious! The food was very good. We highly recommend the good variety of fresh oysters. The Bimini bread is famous and has a coconut cream center. Yum. My family and I had a fantastic dinner beside the water tonight. Parking is abundant and plentiful in the shared public lot. The restaurant is beautiful and big. We were seated quickly after arriving. We did have reservations. We opted to sit by the water on the patio. Shortly after sitting Shamar greeted us. While we browsed the menu he brought us water. Everything we had was delicious and well paced. I enjoyed the Minty Melon and my husband had the Whiskey Creek. Both were tasty. For starters we shared the large Caesar salad and clam chowder. The salad was beautiful with prosciutto, Kalamata olives and cherry tomatoes. The chowder was delicious and very unique. It had a lemony flavor which I really enjoyed. We shared the shrimp cocktail next- the shrimp were HUGE- chilled and just delicious meaty goodness! For entrees we shared the Grouper Picatta and the shoyu glazed sea bass.
