This place is beautiful. I came in for happy hour and was blown away the moment I walked in. We got oysters and calamari and both were 10/10. I loved the house made hot sauce that came with the oysters and the calamari is some of the best I've had. The bartender was super knowledgeable about the restaurant and answered all our questions and even told us about their sister restaurants (Talulah). Happy hour here is 4-6 Monday - Friday and features $2 oysters and that calamari I can't get enough of.

This restaurant is beautiful, but the food and drinks are touch and go. The Bernadette cocktail was delicious, but the second glass I ordered tasted completely different. I think the first drink the bartender must not have added the Serrano as it wasn't spicy. The inconsistency was a bummer, because I really enjoyed the first drink. Our group had apps, salads, entrees, sides and desserts. The standout apps were the whipped ricotta and shrimp although the portion of the ricotta was very small. The shrimp are huge! The calamari was not good and over breaded. The scallops were good and presented nicely - the dehydrated spinach was delicious. We dined in the private room. 18 people. Service was ok. Plates could've been cleared sooner before the next entrees were served. The table needed salt and pepper especially for the salad to balance the huge chunks of salty feta.

First of all the vibe here is so beautiful. Looks classy, pretty, and aesthetic. Lots of picture spots in this restaurant. Our server was sweet and was attentive to my questions. I got the full monte cocktail which tasted good at first but it was a little too sweet but I picked one of the cocktails that the server did not suggest. The lobster ravioli was actually really delicious. I loved the tangy sauce and the lobster and the filling , has a fusion vibe for sure. I didn't order The broccolini myself but I tried it, and I was surprised bc it tasted really good for a vegetable dish. The fries were also good. I would come again.

The view from the inside was pretty. Loved the low light ambience. Service was great as well. They were very attentive. The food was great as well. Portions looked small, but they were the perfect size.

We had a very good meal here. The menu is sort of Mediterranean/Middle Easter fusion, with dishes from various countries, from France to Armenia. We started with sharing lamb and beef arayes, which we loved. It is lamb and beef cooked together and wrapped in pita bread, served with yogurt. For mains, my wife had the Duck Confit, while I had Caccio e Pepe. The duck was fantastic and I would highly recommend it. The caccio was kind of mid but I enjoyed it. We shared the carrot cake for dessert and it was very spicy and really good. Te service was efficient. The ambience is modern, spare, upscale and innovative. If you are in the area, you should go

First time here for Valentine's dinner with my love and it was fantastic. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Hubby had lamb chops and they melted in your mouth. The Branzino fish was served crispy skin up and tender filet. The pairing complemented each dish. The flavors were fresh and the ambiance was perfect. Will be back!

Came here for an Easter brunch and it was lovely. Definitely a popular place. Sleek and modern ambiance, great service.

From the ambiance to the menu and finally the service, this new restaurant in downtown Birmingam has it dialed in. We received a warm greeting by the hostess, she noticed that we preferred to sit away from the kitchen and offered to move us. The waitress was very knowledgeable and was able to eloquently describe the menu and specials. I thought the Burrata was very fresh. I would have preferred to have fresh veggies but the Brussels sprouts were delicious. The Wagu meatballs served with toasted bread are the stars here. My friends fish was well made and well seasoned. We did not love our dessert and the manager noticed that. He asked us questions, sent us another dessert to try and seemed genuinely interested in feedback. He says they are trying a new in house pastry chef, so I look forward to trying their new and improved creations soon. He even subtracted dessert from our bill which was unnecessary but pleasant.

I looked at restaurant recommendations when I knew that I was going to spend a night in Troy, MI. The only restaurant that was close to where I was heading and got a write up online when I search was ZANA. The town is Birmingham. I was impressed with the town center, and ZANA was right in the middle of the busy area. It was a slow night, I suppose as the restaurant was at about 10% capacity. As I settled in, I noticed how quickly my service person arrived. Great coordination. The appetizer I ordered was the burrata salad. It had walnuts, crispy Brussels sprouts, red grapes, and prosciutto wrapped burrata. Great description but the actual execution left something to be desired. Overall, it was too bitter because there were too much of the fried, crispy Brussels sprouts. The burrata itself was too dense for this particular combination. It would benefit from a fresher, more runny burrata. The balance the color, it could use some other fruit to introduce citrus, sweet flavor. For the entree, I chose the filet mignon as the other steak option was a surprising $110 for an aged steak. The temperature was perfect, the filet was tensor. I liked it. It could use less salt though to let the wonderful beef flavor to come out. The surprise of ZANA was the price point. It was no less than a top restaurant in New York City. I was just in Orlando. I could have the same meal at about 25% less! I wouldn't have imagined it for Birmingham, MI.

Update: I dined here recently for my birthday on a Saturday night, and from the moment we stepped in, had an uncomfortable experience. The hostess was not welcoming and reminded us several times that we have limited time to dine, despite the fact that we arrived early for our reservation. Once seated we placed our appetizer order immediately and were served fairly quickly. We then placed our entree order and waited close to an hour for two dishes. Patrons around us that were seated after my party received their food well before us. Ultimately we decided to take our entrees to go given that we had been reminded repeatedly that we had limited time to dine. I had looked forward to celebrating here given how good my first experience was, however I don't think I can recommend this for a Saturday night dinner or special occasion.

Celebrated my husband's 40th bday yesterday in one of the private rooms and had such an amazing time. Highly recommend hiring an event designer to setup the table like I did, which made it extra special! Wanted to give a shout out to our server Dustin, who was extremely attentive and brought really great energy to our table! The food was phenomenal!!! We ordered multiple plates of the steak tartare, calamari and harissa shrimp. The lamb chops and tomahawk were fire and one of the best steaks we've had in a while! The ambiance and service was excellent, the DJ was awesome and had everyone on their feet. It was such a good time. Highly recommend this restaurant to host your private parties. Our guests had a memorable night. We will definitely be back again! Thank you Donika, Lenore and team!

The service was great everyone was very warm, punctual and pleasant. Our food was a perfect 10/10. I also really appreciated the complimentary Easter photo set. The ambiance was very nice! Overall, a wonderful experience and we will be back.

How is the noise level ? Lately M most of the "fine" restaurants I've been too are a loud as a rock concert . I've walked out and taken my food to go.

While the interior and aesthetics are quite lovely, on busy bar nights (friday, saturday typically) it can get pretty boisterous between 8-11. It wasnt a complete deal breaker, but it wasnt ideal. Theyve installed some acoustic paneling to help… Read more

Our server Scott was a sweetheart and the food came out pretty quickly. He even made me a mocktail that wasn't on the menu with grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and soda. My favorite item was the filet tips- the quality of meat was so good and it was seasoned well. It came with some goat cheese, peppers and arugula. I will say that it was a rather small portion of food though- maybe 6-8 bites of meat. The lamb lollipops were good with the balsamic drizzle but I preferred the filet tips since they were leaner. We also got the beet salad, the vinaigrette was good but otherwise the salad was just ok. Edamame was standard. Veggie/hummus tray was fresh. Lettuce wraps were good but had a bit of a kick. Clearly they are hoping you order something when it's not HH, as the regular food / prices are about as high as I've seen for what they offer. Not sure we'll be back.

I inquired about a drink another guest had, and the server said it was a mocktail that had white peach, strawberry, and coconut. I was disappointed because I have a coconut allergy, but the server immediately offered to bring me one without coconut. Appetizers were set on the banquet tables, and we could help ourselves. The shrimp were MASSIVE and they also had raw oysters served with them. They offered multiple sauces on the side for them. They also had dishes with cured meats, cubed cheese, and grape on the table. The dinner was served buffet style. All of the food was hot in the serving dishes. I was able to sample each of the offerings: Mediterranean crunch salad, sweet and spicy calamari, roasted vegetables, roasted potatoes, vodka rigatoni, Alfredo rigatoni, grilled chicken, salmon, and filet mignon. I am not personally a big fan of pasta or red sauce, but the spicy vodka rigatoni was AMAZING. the Alfredo rigatoni and roasted potatoes were also great. I do think that the roasted vegetables would have benefited from some seasonings, and the salmon could have used a sauce or additional seasonings. The grilled chicken was personallyt favorite protein. The filet mignon did have some pink in the middle, but it was still a bit on the dry side. During dessert they brought out trays of mini desserts to each table. At this time the server who had taken my drink order hours early came to my table and brought me a giant portion of mango sorbet. He told me that he didn't know if I could eat any of the desserts, so he verified that the mango sorbet did not have any coconut in it and brought some for me. It was so nice!!! He remembered a comment I had made hours earlier, and unprompted brought my own allergy free dessert. I wish I had gotten his name! It really made my night. I will definitely be back in the future! The lighting was intimate , the service was spectacular, and the spicy rigatoni was great.

I ordered the 220 burger that came with fries. Price was about $20 which I was totally fine with. The food was very good. Lots of flavor on the burger. The various toppings worked quite well. My one knock would be the bun; it wasn't toasted so the burger lacked some structural integrity. That and the onion jam which seemed more like cooked onions than an actual jam. Overall, an A rating for a burger (2nd best tier). The fries were plentiful and had nice crisp. A little more salt could have boosted them even higher, but I was pleased with them. Overall, really solid burger and fries.

It's always a busy time for establishments, especially when it comes to holidays, but we repeatedly kept getting seated and "unseated" (the hostess would seat us, but then take us back to common area as the tables were either dirty or not ready). I didn't personally care about this, but I definitely noticed my party getting a bit frustrated by the experience as it happened about 4 times before we officially got seated, which also exceeded our initial reservation time. The service itself was okay. I wish they would've come around a bit more as we were out of water while eating our meal, but I know it was super busy that day!! I ended up getting the soft shell crab sandwich and it was pretty good! I think it would be even tastier with more sauce on the bun, but overall a nice pick. I also tried the lobster bisque; it had a nice texture with the little lobster bits, but found it overly salty. Hush puppies were a nice, crispy texture and I loved the sweet butter with it! One thing I absolutely loved about this experience was the mother's day flower pop-up stand! The cutest way to walk in and support another local business.
