I came here as the smell of the carnitas drew me in and I was in the area. I got a few pieces to sample (3) total and a small salsa. There was a warmer with different items and food behind the counter. I didn't see any prices for the carnitas on their board or on the warmer. I had to ask the person there how it worded. You pick your own pieces....it came out to $30 for 1 piece of carnitas, 1 (accidentally got pig tongue) which was gross because it had a strong funky smell, and 1- small piece of buche. The buche and carnitas were okay. My thing is there were no prices on how much the pound was. I think they need to clearly mark you self serve and the prices for everything . Especially because they only had 1 employee doing it all it seemed. read more

We ordered a mere six items (a taco, a gordita, and for sopes) and got charged $37 -- about $10 more than expected. The food itself was adequate and a good portion but not special in any way. That, combined with the fact that we felt like they took advantage of us, made this an unsatisfying experience overall. Dishonesty at it's best!!! My husband and I went on a Friday afternoon to try this place for the first time. The place was empty so we ate there. We ordered 2 burritos, 2 cans of Coke, a large guacamole, 1 pkg tortillas, 1 small piece of carnitas (size of my palm) to see how they compare to my regular spot :-) and 1 small piece of chicharon. The chef/cashier charged us $58.00. I asked to see the receipt, and he said he was out of paper. I advised him that he overcharged us and he told me he couldn't do anything about it because the boss wasn't there. Now it makes sense why he told us to pay when we were done eating. We have been going here religiously. Today we stopped by because they had been closed for a while, and we wanted our carnitas fix. Upon entering there was a weird smell, first thing that threw me off. My husband really wanted riñones and tripas, so he got them, I grabbed a small piece of chicharrón. When we got home to eat, the chicharrón was stale, and the riñones smelled HORRIBLE they were rotten(spoiled).My husband called the place and have yet to hear back from them. First of all the lady was taking a long time but understandable when it's just one lady so I closed my carnitas in it's foil and was like oh let me set it on the scale playing around it was on $12.99 the lb and total amount said $3.68 we really didn't have to much literally like 2 small pieces and when she waited it she waited it with the tray and it was like $13 something and she took it off real quick and than starting moving numbers on the scale Segun Ella lol and still put it at $12.99 the same it was and took off the tray and ended up being $11.04 so from $3.68 it went up to $11.04? First time there I was clueless in what to do - I stand in line and cashier just stares without "welcoming me" or even offering to help. I had no idea you grab yourself ... I grabbed about 1 1/2 and I get home to warm up - when I took out the carnitas and chicharrón it had a weird smell. They either cooked in old oil or they were stale (rancias). We ate them for breakfast but I wasn't convinced so I ate 1/2 a taco. That night we were sick up until the next day (chorro lol) After we got sick my husband who previously worked in a meat market ... said "they were old and not good" but didn't want to tell me since he saw my effort in getting him some food. The only nice thing was when I crossed over to the bread section not sure if he was the owner but he was nice and mentioned the breads and the types of bolillos they had. Sorry but never again will I visit this establishment. The good reviews it has to be friends or family there us absolutely no way these cold, old, stale carnitas would even get three stars. Food is OK, I saw many reviews saying this was the best place in town for carnitas however I find them same as other places, I saw on their Facebook page that they also have "cueritos" but couldn't find any on my torta or taco that I ordered (I specifically asked to include cueritos). The also have chicharrón and other kind of tacos (asada for example), I saw that they sell chicharrón prensado and the plus is that in same spot you have a panadería. read more

This place is a constant disappointment. I tend to come back with the hopes that the troubles I experience are rare and isolated. But no, that is not the case. The service is lousy. The food is even worse. Wait I take that back, if you want carnitas, they can make you a good taco or simply buy it by the lb. However, there attempts to add to the menu is a complete failure. They have this picture right when you walk up to the counter for carne asada fries w/ guacamole and cheese. What I ultimately got, was a joke. I asked if the asada nacho comes w/ beans and she said no. OK, so I ordered a SIDE of beans. Instead she had them add the whole unfriend beans to the nachos. I asked why were whole beans. The response..."because these are the types of beans used on nachos". No! Not true. Anyways the remakes came out worse. See pics. The fries and meat tasted old and reheated! I was suppose to have cheese and guacamole. Neither were included. I called and was told that I could come back early the next day if I wanted to speak w/ management. Im pleased to be first review, i drove by in morning, i got tenden on by a real nice and friendly cashier, when i asked her about getting a taste of carnitas, she went above and beyond, she gave me a tour and. I GOT TO TASTE all of it. DELICIOUS carnitas, bomb buche and the cueritos my god the cueritos... plus The staff is cool, got to meet Don Carlos (the man behind the carnitas), and the friendly cashier (didn't get her name) theres good music playing, the place is super clean in and out. After searching Yelp for who has the best carnitas in the South Bay, it was clear that Zamora Bros was the place to try. They close at 8pm, we got there around 7:15pm. All the dining room chairs were put up, not sure if they were open, cleaning night, or just cleaning up early. But, we went in and were warmly welcomed. We ordered a variety of tacos,, carnitas, chicharrones, el pastor, and asada to go. Also got a couple kinds of chicharrones on the side. Carnitas did not disappoint! So flavorful and tender. What surprised me was their chicharrones tacos. These had the perfect ratio of crunch from the skin, meat, and a little fat all mixed into a taco. The pastor was a little on the spicy side, but still very good. The asada was okay, nothing special about that one, but this place's specialty is all about the pork. We will most definitely be back when the carnitas cravings hit us. read more

Be careful when you pay at this restaurant because they charged me twice ($51) for my order. It's been like 3 months and they have not returned my money. I am probably going to have to place a claim on my credit card to have them retrieve my money. The customer service has been rude now that they don't want to return my money. They are treating me like I am the thief. They are interrogating me and making remarks as if they think I am lying. Been looking for legit carnitas place for quite sometime, used to go to el Tio on Long Beach blvd, but they close at random hours. Finally decided to give this place a try and to be honest I'm glad I did. Fresh chicharrones nice and crunchy, the carnitas tender, costillas plenty to go around, trompa, buche etc freshly cooked. I like that you can choose your own product before either eating on location or taking your order to go. Bought the 2lb set it's allot of food can easily feed six people no problem, beans and rice tasted really good the salsas great flavor, you can ask to sample any salsa to choose your favorite.
