I've gone back and forth for months about leaving this review, but the experience has continued to bother me, so I feel like it's important to share. I stopped at Zack's on a Friday evening to get a slice of pizza for my son. We had been running around all day, had already gotten home, and I realized we had promised him pizza, so I came back out specifically to grab him a slice. I chose Zack's because it's close to my home. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. There was no greeting or acknowledgment. There were a few other customers inside, including a family with a child. While looking at the pizza on display, I noticed that the slices looked dry and as though they had been sitting for a while. I also noticed the man behind the counter going between reheating/handling the pizzas and wiping down the counter, which made me uncomfortable from a food-handling standpoint. I was tired and decided to order a slice anyway. After I had already paid, I simply asked if the pizza was fresh. His reaction completely caught me off guard. Instead of just answering my question, he immediately became loud, defensive and started yelling about how he reheats the pizzas every 20 minutes and that if I didn't want it, I could get my money back. I had not raised my voice, insulted him, complained about the price or demanded anything. I literally just asked whether the pizza was fresh. Even the young woman working the register appeared embarrassed by his reaction and tried to calm him down. At that point, I absolutely did want my money back. I got my refund and left without the pizza. What has bothered me all these months isn't even the pizza. It's how unnecessarily hostile the interaction became over such a simple question. As a woman of color, I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. I'm not going to claim that I know what was in anyone's heart or what motivated the way I was treated, but I do know how I was spoken to and how that interaction made me feel. What made the experience sit with me even more was later reading other reviews describing negative or aggressive interactions with the current ownership/staff. It made me realize that I shouldn't just brush my own experience off. Customers should be able to ask a basic question about the food they are purchasing without being yelled at or told to take their money back. Basic courtesy costs nothing. I live nearby and would have gladly supported a neighborhood business regularly had my experience been different. Unfortunately, after the way I was treated, I will not return. read more

Solid pizza! I believe they call it Italian style or New York style pizza? It has large foldable slices with a thin, chewy crust. Either way, it's hard to find this style of pizza executed well around here as most places tend to serve bar style or greek pizza. My husband and I ordered a large half cheese/half pepperoni pizza and ate the whole thing! We also got an order of the "spicy cajun fries basket." It was a huge order as they came in a small pizza box but they were great and piping hot when we picked them up. We will likely order from here again :) read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Zach's Pizza. My order was marked ready at 8:56 PM, and I arrived around 9:12 PM. I was not aware of their closing time, but when I got there, the store was already closed and my food had been left outside on the ground. I never received a call or any notification to let me know they were closing or to check if I was on my way. Leaving food unattended on the floor is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food safety and customer service. If timing was an issue, the order should not have been accepted so close to closing, or I should have been contacted. I paid for this order but was unable to properly receive it. read more

I never leave reviews ever, but I saw a ton of hype on FB, so I brought the family in... Greek salad with chicken, cheese pizza, wings and Cajun fries.... Excellent!!! Talk to the guys running the place, said everything is made fresh in the morning and it showed. And on top of that all under $50 bucks..... Where to get the best pizza? I live in North Randolph and work in Boston. So I don't get down here as often as I should. The owner reminded me of it tonight, when I picked up a sausage and mushroom pizza. Where have you been he asked? I had been a regular as I kid, but the truth is anyone who has sat on North Main Street in traffic knows that driving across town is tough for pizza. And there was 2016-17, recently when I had cancer and didn't really leave my house, except for doctors appointments, but I digress. Anyway, there is a lot of discussion of who has the best pizza. Some suggest it is some pub, and there is a time and place for greasy burnt pizza. Others may suggest a place across town, with their 400 menu items. You can't judge a place because of what they don't have or don't offer. Zack's is an old school classic Italian pizza. They have limited toppings because probably they focus on fresh ingredients. My pizza tonight: the mushroom and sausage is fresh and full of flavor. The pizza sauce well balanced with cheese that has low oil content (also known as real cheese and not a low grade cheese product). The last time I went in, before cancer, I ordered a steak and cheese sub - very good as well. But I also have to watch what I eat. So my sub days are behind me. Now I read some of the reviews. Have you been to Santarpio's? They make six pizzas. That's it. Yelpers looking beyond quality or simply not understanding what a quality product is. This place could use a website. One of the reviews mention they have delivery, that's news to me. Who knows where they deliver to? If I lived closer this is the place, and regularly ate pizzas and subs, I'd be here all the time. I usually don't like leaving reviews but this time it was deserved I heard that Zack's was having new orders I was distraught I've been going in there for 17 years now and I grew very close to the business I went in to give it a try and it was looking absolutely disgusting I ordered a Greek salad a cheese pizza and a cheeseburger sub and there new Cajun fries. The salad was turning brown and they claim to have worked with the old owners for 2 weeks I think they need 2 years cause what ever dressing they are making now is awful I know Paul would never let the public eat dressing like that it had one olive 5 tomatoes and 1 and a half peppers it was just disgusting and my wife was sick from that. I was hoping to have some fresh pita bread but that was stale. The pizza was just horrible nothing good about it it was sweet and not made how it was I know Paul makes a better pizza and he's almost 90 the inside was questionable they had 3 children working which was interesting and the man there was rude to his kids I've been praying that Paul chuck and Sophia come back they made that place amazing not just by the foods but by the ambiance they were funny and welcoming the new owners just make it feel dead in there it took 30 minutes for my food I was so used to the 15 minutes i was shocked and never realized how much I took Sophia Chuck and Paul for granted read more

Closest you will get to New York pizza on the south shore. I have been searching high and low for New York Style pizza on the south shore and thus far this is the best. Bar pizza seems to be the thing on the south shore, the small pizza with very little crust, and a good amount of oil...yup that one. The pizza here is thin-not paper thin, good crust, tasty sauce and combination of mozzarella cheeses. The guy behind the counter is quite the character and will be sure to make you laugh! read more

I just go with cheese a pepperoni but their cheese and sauce is delicious. Always great pizza here but wanted to share a really decent thing that happened the other day. My daughter ordered a pizza for delivery and wanted to pay with her card. The credit card machine wasn't working at the time but they delivered the pizza anyway and told her to just call them back later to pay. Which we did, and the guy was so appreciative. I will never give this is establishment my money again. I went for a quick bite and I ordered my food and whoever the bald guy was he was so rude, did not seem to even want us inside the restaurant. Both the drinks I ordered had no ice, I had to ask for a lid and when I did ask for a lid he throw it on the counter during a PANDEMIC and while my wrap came out we were waiting for my girls sub to come out. 10 minutes went by and when we said we will take it to go because at this point we had a movie to catch he says oh shit I thought I gave it to you then it takes it out the oven it was completely burnt snd then his associate joked and said you can still use it just scrape off the burnt parts snd they were laughing about it.
