Great date night spot or enjoying dinner with friends. The rigatoni was spicy but delicious! Highly recommend their unique cocktails. If you're an espresso martini fan, the Eyes Wide Shut is a must order. Our server was friendly and helpful. We did wait a bit to order and for our drinks/food to arrive but it was a Saturday night so that was to be expected. Decent pricing for the quality of food/drinks. As a horror movie and fancy dinner fan, The Wednesday Room satisfied my expectations.

We came in around 10pm and luckily they were able to seat us downstairs right away. I feel so bad for the hostess because she had to run up and down the stairs and also buss the tables. Downstairs is a 70's vibe and I dig it. Their drink menus change seasonally and the prices are not too bad if you are from the US. It's almost like a speakeasy in a way and they put more effort in to their drinks. Overall, I highly recommend coming here if you just want to chill and get away from all the noise on Stephen Ave.

It wasn't that busy, but the host appeared to be both serving and seating, as such it took about 15 minutes to be seated in the restaurant side where only 2 other families were eating. From there it took our waitress another 10 to see us. It shouldn't take that long when not busy. From there, our table of 6 ordered appetizers and mains. Our waitress struggled to get our order amendments and wasn't entirely friendly. I have to say though, she knew the GF options well. The food, while fairly good, came out incorrect for 2/6 mains. Mine was missing the chicken entirely, while another had the wrong side dish. We all ate what we got though and were fairly happy. I liked that I could share appetizers with everyone for once and really impressed at how much could be made gluten free. Most of my friends have their established favorites, so maybe as we continue to go I'll find one I really like and that's done well too.

Service was friendly though a bit slow for the place being empty on a Wednesday night. I thought the food was pretty good but the less-adventurous palates in my party did not appreciate some of the spicing or presentation of some of it. I liked the pacing of our courses and the tea and small deserts on offer. We found the price of our food a bit high but that was less of a concern than the disappointment of part of our group.

That works just fine for me, I'm not sure I could've had much more than a puff or two of it otherwise. It was my first sheesha experience. I was also the first one there. Cafe Med was busy and I was too afraid to go in by myself. Thank the good Yelp gods for Sarah Louise! She saved me from looking like a creep peeking in the windows for too long. The folks at Cafe Med are friendly people. Our server talked us into some Moroccan Madness (tea) while we waited for the rest of our peeps to arrive. We also snacked on some red pepper hummus and rolled up grape vine leaves (if you've never had them, they're comparable to cabbage rolls in concept... just a different flavour to them). You might also want to try the garlic pizza. As far as sheesha bars go, I have nothing else to compare this one to! So it's got three stars in my books. Mostly because the guy serving our table offered to fill our tea pots up with more hot water, took the pots away and didn't return with them until we inquired about them again. And also because, even though it's a spot to come smoke things, there were times the haze built up enough to burn my eyes for a moment or two. At any rate, the food was pretty cheap, the pipes were just over $10 each and they kept bringing new coals around. From what I gathered, not dropping ashes into the pipe is a bit of an art that Cafe Med has mastered. Overall, a positive experience!

I've never really been a fan of shisha, but when my friends want to go this is the place to go…read more It's always a good time no matter who you're with or when you go. They have so many different flavours of shisha to choose from and each is delicious in their own way. I prefer the fruity flavours to the chocolate or coffee ones though... I find them a little more refreshing. Not only do they have great, friendly service, but they even offer a crash course for all the beginners that go there. It's not like it's hard though. You light the charcoal, and suck on the hose... pretty self-explanatory. Don't worry all you first-timers, everything that goes on inside this place is completely legal. They also have a wide selection of meals and appetizers to choose from, but I don't usually go for it. Like I said, I don't really care for the shisha so I don't feel the need to buy the food in the joint. My philosophy on shisha is, it's not giving me my nicotine fix so what's the point? I definitely understand why other people like to chill in this place though. That's exactly what you do... chill. It's a nice atmosphere with cool people.

There's also a super cute swing area next to the bar area that you can sit. I really liked the overall interior design! The staff was very attentive for our large party throughout our meal. There are bathrooms downstairs as well. - FOOD - Bacon Jam Benedict ($20.00): Loved the flavor combination in this! The sweet savory maple bacon jam worked so well! We upgraded to the fried potatoes ($4.00) and they were pretty tasty. Carrot Cake French Toast ($24.00): We got one to share with the table, and I'm glad we didn't commit because it was just OK to me. I wish there was more mascarpone filling, and also a different sauce than chocolate because it didn't pair well for me. Winter Nights ($19.00): We wanted to get some greens in and chose this salad. I enjoyed the mix of greens and also the fennel salami which gave a salty bite!
