Wow! I visited Park by Sidewalk Citizen a few days after Christmas and it managed to make it to the top of my 2022 dining experiences list just in the nick of time.
The space is absolutely gorgeous with high decorative wood ceilings, a cozy fireplace, and minimalist decor. They have a large garage door window that I'm assuming can open up to the patio in the summer. That alone makes me want to come back later this year.
They have a creative yet simple cocktail menu where they take five classic drinks and put their own twist on them. I absolutely loved the smoky hibiscus mezcalarita. I wish I wasn't driving that night as I would have loved to sample a couple more.
Food is served tapas-style and before we arrived, I joked that as a vegetarian, I'm not usually a fan of tapas as it limits my options and I often only being able to eat 1-2 dishes. However, that was not the case at Park. More than half of their dinner menu is vegetarian and I was left with more options than I knew what to do with.
We settled on the crispy potatoes (absolutely heavenly - sliced thin so they get nice and crisp on the edges, as advertised), white polenta (smooth and creamy - the shishito peppers make for a slightly smoky flavour), broccolini (very tasty but a little spicier than I expected so be prepared), and the tabbouleh salad (this was the only near-miss as it was delicious but not what I expected - generally tabbouleh is very light and fresh tasting but the goat ricotta was quite heavy. If it hadn't been advertised as tabbouleh, I wouldn't have been disappointed).
Overall, I was honestly blown away by my visit to Park and I can't wait for my next visit. read more
