Technically not on a corner but in the middle of a strip mall, The Greek Corner is a small venue that serves traditional Greek cuisine that's as good as any in the city. Pictures of Greece adorn the walls, typical of these smaller places, nothing too exotic but a comfortable feel. Unlike many small venues, everything here is spotless and the limited number of tables are well spaced. Service is very friendly. Not as punctual as a chain might offer, but it's easy to forget that when your meal is delivered with such joy. The food is excellent, large portions at reasonable prices. We shared the Ribs and Saganaki appetizers, both excellent. My Mixed Grill Soulvaki was delicious. At first glance I didn't think I could eat it all but it was so good that I powered through. Definitely an alternative to more upscale Greek options, might be our go-to from now on. read more

What an amazing little gem this place is! It is small with only 8 tables and it gets busy fast. You will be greeted by the owner Yanni; very personable and charming. He recommended an excellent red wine for our meal. We started with. meatballs and the Caesar salad. One bite and I was immediately hooked. Ordered the main platter for 2, and continued to be absolutely impressed. We we're full, but decided to try dessert; so glad we did. The ambiance was wonderful, prices were very reasonable and the food was ah-mazing!! Don't hesitate if you are thinking about trying The Greek Corner. Thank you, Yanni and Angela! The mousakka was bland, the potatoes that came on the side were under cooked rice and tzitaki were good, but I was expecting for the price i paid for better quality. Not worth $30, came with some stinky peas, I was expecting a Greek salad. The waiter refused to take my cash payment he was yelling at me for paying in cash, causing me to feel more upset. My friends ceasar salad was dripping with dressing and here chicken in her salad was too big and not provided a better knife. Not worth going there, I don't understand how their busy. This place was recommended by some natural wine gurus (Juice Imports) in Calgary and a bunch of people on FoodYYC Facebook group. This was the best Greek food I had in Calgary. You can taste the high quality of the ingredients, and the hosting skills of the owner, Yanni is bar none. My favourite items were the grilled lamb, calamari and homemade pita bread with tzatziki. The lamb was done right! Tender, juicy with a delicate grassy flavour. The calamari tasted like it was fresh, silky and soft, with a new chew to it. Portions are huge - especially if you choose shared platters. We wanted to pick and select each item, so we mainly ordered from the appetizer section. read more

This was easily our best meal on our 4 days in Calgary. We tried the Donner Platter for 2. The menu is quite misleading... "for 2"? It easily could have fed 3 very hungry adults or 4 normal people! One of us had the mixed grill, two had lamb and I had the ribs. We all enjoyed our very delicous meals. The best greek food ever! Two of us had to take half of our meals home. In addition, Yanni recommended a red wine and my husband and I enjoyed the greek beer. One in the group was celebrating her birthday so she finished off the dinner meal with the Ekmek Kataifi dessert which was to die for. YUMMMMMY! Was greeted by the owner with a warm smile. The owner is very friendly and attentive. He made sure that our glasses are always full and the food is to our likings. I ordered the Kleftiko (house special) and my wife prefers the Salmon with a side order of pita bread. The food was well cooked and seasoned. You're not a guest patronizing a restaurant; you're visiting that distant Greek relative who's a little grouchy but will make sure that you're comfortable and well-fed. Seems to be just the old couple running everything, with the husband waiting on tables and the wife cooking. I was looking for good places to go near the Chinook Mall, we are not into Fast Food Places. The greek corner showed up on my yelp search and we decided to give it a try. The owner was amazing, very personable person, the restaurant is spotless, and the food is Amazing!!!! We had the dip trio, and we also had the lamb with the greek salad, every bite was delicious. Their greek beer is also good! Our son is a very picky eater and even he loved it. Also don't forget to end your meal with their homemade baklava!!! To die for!! read more

We ate here last weekend and it was amazing. There was 3 of us I had the Greek salad, and calamari. My husband and cousin had the lamb they said it was really good.
