Very friendly and prompt service. My chicken gyro looked amazing; but, was somewhat disappointing upon eating. I was surprised to see the pita bread oily on the outer surface, and the chicken appeared to have been re-warmed/heated one time too many...it was dry and chewy. read more

While we were eating at 8th Street Cooperative, we decided to also give Paros Real Greek a try. They're in the same location as Noodle Box and Little Lot Diner. We dropped in on a Wednesday afternoon (around 3:00pm). Most people appeared to be ordering food from here over the two other two spots. The menu is simple: gyros, souvlaki, roast lamb, veggies, salads and appetizers. You can choose to get your dish in either a pita or plate format. - Gyro plate ($13.00) - served with pita bread, tzatziki, roasted veggies and your choice of one side. We picked pork for our meat and potatoes as our side. Potatoes were tender but quite acidic, almost to the point of being sour. Roasted veggies were standard but solid. Best thing was the pita bread; fluffy and fresh. The pork was sadly super salty. Better than your typical Greek fast food spots (*cough cough* Opa! *cough cough*) but that's about it. This is my favorite quick food placd when I'm downtown. Chicken souvlaki wrap all the way and you can even call ahead so great service!

After recently moving here from Texas, Paros became my last best hope for an authentic gyro experience in North America. What differentiates them is the use of actual in house marinated and stacked chucks of meat instead of the spool of mystery meat mush used by literally everyone else on the continent. The result is a tender and savoury "near perfect" experience. I say "near" because I would like to see a more traditional pork/lamb combo along with a heavier hit of oregano. To the owners, I would suggest trying this as a feature item and see how it goes. Canadians have embraced many foreign cuisines and deserve the benefit of the doubt. That aside - As a Greek, I had to always bow my head in shame whenever someone asked for restaurant recommendations, and to make up for it, i would then invite them over to my place instead. Well, I can now point them to Paros with confidence. Although, I'd still welcome them here! If you're near 46 Ave and 17 St SW and you catch a whiff of wood fire and slow roasting meat in the air, follow your nose and give my back gate a tap. Any other time, go to Paros! read more

Paros is a fast-casual Greek place where you order your protein and whether you want a pita or a plate, and you can add some sides. It isn't very authentic (not all Greek food is the same recipe, only with different kinds of meat) and the food isn't good enough to overcome that limitation. I ordered the lamb pita and it was more of a stewed lamb, but then crammed into a pita and dressed like a gyro. But the lamb was not spiced like a gyro, and I don't really think the flavors worked. Literally like a better version of OPA. Food was very filling and good portions, the restaurant bathroom was nice and clean. Not the best seating arrangements in the restaurant as space is limited but it's worth it. read more

This is now a main go to for my husband and I when we don't feel like cooking. It is so reasonably priced for the amazing quality they offer. I've eaten Paros so many times now, and every time it's absolutely delicious. My husband always gets the chickens souvlaki wrap, and it comes with fries on the inside! I could be sheltered, but I've never seen that before, and it makes it super tasty. I myself have tried a few different options, from the lamb, to the fried zucchini, and the food is always so perfectly seasoned and fresh. I also love their village salad which is essentially a Greek salad with a WHOLE slab of delectable feta placed on top. Drooool worthy. To finish I always get the baklava, and usually 2 or 3 pieces because I like to live crazy. It's huge portions and it's always so soft and gooey. I made it Paros on the opening day of its new city centre location in the new 8th Street Cooperative, which with Noodlebox and Little Lot Diner constitutes a sort of urban food court that has injected life into what had been a sad, sad Ric's with windows that were this horrible opaque green that didn't interact with the street at all. This new project has been a LONG time coming, since last summer, and it's great to see it come to fruition. On that first visit, I got a pork gyro- pork is traditional (no, not lamb, pork) and it was a disappointment, very dry and with too little of what I could taste was very good tzatziki. But that was opening day, and yesterday, after several weeks, I decided to give them another shot, and wow, am I glad I did. I got the chicken gyro platter- the chicken is thigh and leg and it's gloriously moist and fatty but still crispy somehow. It is fantastic. Pita comes with it (good Greek pita), cut into fourths, and then for my two sides I chose the lemony potatoes and the village salad. When it came to my table, it had a BIG ramekin of that amazing unctuous tzatziki right in the middle, and I used every drop on my chicken. Just those three things - the gorgeous chicken, perfectly grilled pita and that amazing, amazing tzatziki- would have been plenty and in fact I didn't even finish the potatoes or the salad, though both were tasty. read more

Best Greek Salad in Calgary - hands down. The Village Salad with souvlaki is amazing. It comes with a slab of the most delicious, creamy, salty feta on the top that is just to die for. Their Greek Fries - again topped with the yummy feta - also amazing. I am not a huge fan of garlic, but their tzatziki is so good that I have serious cravings for it. read more
