Tables are packed so close together you can practically share appetizers with strangers. If you're a fish lover, you'll probably be fine; but for those of us who don't eat fish (or just hate the smell), it's rough. The whole place reeks, and it's not pleasant. Food itself? Pretty good. Service? Brutally slow. We waited about 40 minutes for our dishes. When the pork souvlaki finally arrived, the server wasn't even sure if it was chicken or pork and just left it up to us to figure it out. Also, fair warning: they have a dish they flame up tableside with zero notice. Nearly singed my ears off. I get that when the restaurant is not packed is amazing. But tonight, they dropped the ball. Hard. That said, not coming back, ever, again.

The only disappointment was the greeting - first time at this restaurant. The fellow looking after reservations and seating was neither friendly nor accommodating. My colleague and I walked in and we both order the same thing - Chicken Sharwarma. Their prices are more expensive compared to their competitor and the portion is a lot small as well. I don't know what's with the high rating or maybe they just went downhill all of a sudden. The chicken sharwarma: I like how the pita bread is crunchy. The meat isn't seasoned very well. I mean I had chicken sharwarma where it would really stand out. Not much strong flavor in it. I do like the fact that they are generous in sauce. I mean I am a sauce person. The portion size is smaller compared to their competitor for the price paying. Also the chicken sharwarma is very messy to eat. It drips from either end. What's really disgusting is the hair found in my colleagues chicken sharwarma. That was nasty. Well its good that they replaced his half chicken sharwarma and she did try to explain and did apologized. We came in at noon and left at 12:30. Inside the whole restaurant there was only us and another table. I don't know how they can stay in business longer if they are getting this kind of business everyday. I have walked by couple times and they were not busy.

The prices were definitely reasonable, and I got a ton of food for the price I paid. Pictures of Greece adorn the walls, typical of these smaller places, nothing too exotic but a comfortable feel. Unlike many small venues, everything here is spotless and the limited number of tables are well spaced. Service is very friendly. Not as punctual as a chain might offer, but it's easy to forget that when your meal is delivered with such joy. The food is excellent, large portions at reasonable prices. We shared the Ribs and Saganaki appetizers, both excellent. My Mixed Grill Soulvaki was delicious. At first glance I didn't think I could eat it all but it was so good that I powered through. Definitely an alternative to more upscale Greek options, might be our go-to from now on.

After a misdirected turn from Google Maps into a condo complex, we stumbled into this unassuming Greek restaurant. Our server, Ana, greeted us like old friends and we were promptly seated by a beautifully decorated wall with enlarged photos of Greece. We ordered the Dinner Platter for 2 which included moussaka, chicken and lamb souvlaki, tzatziki, spanakopita, calamari, tiropita, rice and potatoes. The chicken and lamb souvlaki was tender and well seasoned and the lightly breaded calamari just melted like butter in your mouth. Plaka also makes the best spanakopita and tiropita that I've ever tasted -- the Feta is imported from Greece, so it has a distinct taste/texture that differs from the briny North American Feta. The Boutari Cambas (white) with light, crisp notes was the perfect accompaniment to our platter. To finish our feast, we shared a bougatsa(warm phyllo wrapped custard) -- delicious and not too sweet! We left with full stomachs and warmed hearts!

Much like Jess B. mentioned in the 2/23/25 review, I came in expecting a great Greek breakfast but ended up with something that felt more like a standard diner experience. That said, the young woman who greeted and served us was fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. I ordered the pancakes with eggs. The pancakes were far too doughy and oddly topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and bananas -- a presentation that felt more suited to a child's menu than an adult breakfast order. Want to put a cute topping on my cakes - you should ask me. They were also overcooked, as was the over-hard egg. At one point I even joked to my girlfriend that it felt like there must be a college kid running the kitchen. The service saved the experience, but the food definitely needs improvement.

Price is great for what you get. I ordered seafood platter and lamb & rice. Seafood was as fresh as you can get in Alberta. Calamaris are cooked to perfect crispness and the batter on them are not too thick, just enough to give that light and buttery feeling. The lamb dish was incredible...the meat was so tender, it break a part so easily just by a spoon or a fork lightly touch it. The seasoning on it are so on point, you feel you are setting in one of the bank house in Greek. Even the rice was flavoured and cooked impressively. The deserts were unbelievable. I am not a big sweet tooth, but I had to try everything they offered, because they looks just way too good. The owner actually gave us free desert since some of us from really far away and someone had a personal connection with Greek. I am really happy for the experience I had in this restaurant.

Man at the counter who I presume is the owner was very friendly. Service was reasonably fast given the food is cooked fresh. The vibe was a little hard to pin down - the food is served on plates at comfy booths, but lots of orders seemed to be walking out the door as take out. So I guess it qualifies as fast food, but you have to wait a bit longer and you will notice a higher quality to what you're getting. I had a beef pita wrap and fries, my companion had a chicken wrap and Greek salad. The food was excellent. Beef was well cooked, tender and tasty. The fries had a unique blend of seasoning (at least, unique to me) and was not overdone. Naturally there was a strong garlic flavour to everything. I could not think of any way to improve the quality of the food which tasted good and was well presented. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with colour photos of Greece (I presume the owner's collection) and some homey nicknacks on shelves, tastefully arranged. And some Greek posters and a road sign or two. Prices were fine. I forget how much a bottle of pop retails for these days, but subtracting that gets you a decent meal for a reasonable price - $15 for good sized wrap, fresh thick pita and toppings, with a side. My companion couldn't finish the salad and took some home. We both left full and happy. I rarely give five stars, but if I can't think of any way to have improved the experience, I have no choice. Such is the case here.
