Za Za Bazaar featured one of the most diverse buffet spreads I've ever seen. There were a total of six different stations with dishes from all around the globe: Indian (with both street food and curries), European (including British and Italian), Tex Mex (including burgers, tacos, nachos, and Caribbean food), Far East (stir-fries, sushi, noodles, pan-Asian), Salad, and Dessert. Some of the standout items for me came from the Indian station, including dishes like dahi bhalla, Amritsari fish (breaded fish, which was much more flavorful than the fish and chips at the Great British station), tandoori naan, dal tadka, vegetable korma, aloo gobi, rogan josh, and chicken tikka masala, all of which were boldly and authentically spiced. Other items I liked included the reggae wings (jerk chicken wings) from Jamaica; the pico de gallo, guacamole, and smoked salsa from Mexico; and the soft-serve vanilla ice cream from the dessert station. Still there were so many other items that I barely got to try including Thai Green Curry with Chicken, Black Pepper Beef, British beef stew and mushy peas, and several made-to-order stations including dosas, piri-piri chicken, pasta, risotto, and noodles. Everything was quality and delicious, the night market atmosphere was fun and lively, and most amazingly, the buffet was just 13 GBP for a weekday lunch! The Worst Meal I have ever eaten food was over cooked and burned. In most of the areas from black garlic bread to burnes under cooked junk chicken. We went for a birthday meal and it ruined the birthday leaving us all feeling sick. The restaurant was so hot we were melting. We asked for a jug of water it took 5.times of asking and finally arrived 45 minutes later. I spoke to the head chef I was that unhappy. In summing up I would not feed this too my dogs. Today I have 2 very ill children with what could be food poisoning. I know it's an all you can eat restaurant but.it was more like all you don't want to eat. Yes I did complain and was left waiting for a manager another 45 minutes in an already hot restaurant. Infact the only thing that was cooked properly was me. Would I go again NO!!! Probably one of the first and only buffets I've been to in the UK and had an amazing experience. They have set the buffet standards really high. I've been to buffets with 1 or 2 cuisines at most but to have Mexican, European, Indian and Asian all under 1 roof is just amazing and unseen! Thoroughly enjoyed their Indian, Asian and European sections. Just did not have any space left in my stomach to try out the amazing Mexican food. The sheer variety of food available caters from the more adventurous eaters with tantalising dishes from all corners off the globe right down to those who prefer a simple burger and chips. This restaurant is an amazing experience. As soon as you walk in to the restaurant area your senses are hit from all around you. I've been a few times and the food has been excellent each time. The Indian/curry section is brilliant, the nan breads are made fresh right in front of you and the chicken is amazing. The sheer variety is a bit overwhelming but you really can find something for everyone. I read some reviews before I went and was aware that because it was an all you can eat you are up and down quite a lot getting food. Some people complained that you then don't chat to your party much but I guess as long as you know what to expect you are prepared for that. I've been in an evening and at lunch time. The lunch time was cheaper but there was a reduced menu, it didn't mean I ate less but the variety is reduced quite a lot. There were a lot of children's / teenage parties at lunch time but that didn't detract from the experience and we took our children. The only negative I would say is that our four year old will have to pay half price when she turns five and I doubt she'll struggle to get her moneys worth however until then she's FREE! read more

We went here for our Valentine's meal but on the Friday night. £17 a head not including drinks which is totally affordable! The food there is really good a lot better than what you'd expect of somewhere like that! There is a Chinese stand that also has sushi, Indian, Tex Mex BBQ and burger and burrito stand, Italian Pizza and Pasta Stand, a Salad Stand and a Pudding stand that has loads of different pastries, puddings, cakes and ice cream! It is actually very good and there is so much choice I was overwhelmed! The drinks are cheap, I had a cocktail and the cocktail list is huge! £43 for both of us to eat and have one drink each which I think is great considering how much we ate! All you can eat also! This is the largest Restraurant in the U.K. and the volume of area it occupies clearly establishes the fact. The food gets cooked in front of the hungry customer and you can help your self, as it's a buffet. The world buffet is truly world buffet, literally, as it, successfully covers (almost) all the world cuisines. The eatery can be deemed as child friendly as plenty of high chairs are available (on request). The views from the tables are awesome (if you are lucky to get the tables, on the side of the Harbour). There is a huge selection of food to choose from and the choices are more at dinner time (starting from 5 PM onwards). The staff is friendly and always up to help the customers. The prices are reasonable and there is a sprawling bar downstairs as well. Although the variety of the spirits is pretty limited. From a Restraurant this size I expected at least a good collection of Scotch and Wine. Checked in, because the cuisine of the month was Indian Street Food. The food was absolutely at par with the regular Indian standards. Only the wraps were a little sloppy, but, it was made by a Chef of a different nationality, so the complaints shouldn't be there. The desert section is pretty massive and to be honest, I loved the rice pudding! One is given, an hour and three quarters to stuff himself, which is, plenty of time. The staff comes up 30 minutes before your time is finishing, to your table and notifies how much time is left, which is reasonable. We were so stuffed, had to take a walk down the Harbour. If you want to develop food poisoning it's a great venue. Maybe it was my fault for trusting the meat in this place but after eating here 5 days ago i am only now starting to recover. There are plenty of other places to eat around this area and for the same price you can enjoy a quality meal without running the risk of ruining the next few days. Za Za Bazaar has been open for only a few months and has been hyped by everyone i've mentioned it to. 4 of us went on a Saturday night for the 7pm sitting along with everyone else. This means everyone wants the same thing at the same time, this was most accute when it came to desserts which we simple didn't bother trying. Having put that issue to one side I have to say that the food was nice and lives up to the all-U-can-eat format with the added bonus of being able to see much of it cooked. The extensive veriety of the foods from around the world are offered here and that means something for everyone from ribs to curry to mushy peas. The overall experiance was more cafateria than restaurant and like the other reviewer I think we'll keep this venue for taking the kids rather than a romantic night out. I think we will use this restaurant regularly but as a kids treat if we're in town. Loved this restaurant. Lots of good food, total range of options of all different types. All items cooked to perfection which isn't always the case with buffets. Quality of food was as good as an al a carte restaurant as opposed to a buffet. Restaurant was clean. Food was fresh. Could see chiefs prepare the food. Only negative would be that there is a time limit to how long you can stay in the restaurant for (2hrs), this is ample time for eating many courses and if you want to continue the evening there is a bar downstairs you can go to. read more

This food was dry and cold. They did not specify spicy food so that was a shock. The muscles made everyone who ate them ill. Their customer services is appalling, they made us pay for a man sat with us who did not eat, sayin their policy was if they came up they wud pay this policy was not told to us the man did not cum in with us but we still had to pay for him when he left a long time before us. We spoke to the manager he was unhelpful and kept sayin that is our policy, how can they enforce a policy they don't tell u about. We will not be going there again. read more

Me and my husband went yesterday lunch time and it was awful. My husbands burger roll was covered in mold and when we told staff they didn't even get the manager for an apology. All food was chewie and hard and our drinks were watered down which is disgusting when we payed £4 for 2 cokes. When I got home I was vomiting all night and my husband very unwell. I would never go back and I will just stick with flavours next to hippodrome as less choice but food is amazing read more

Went here last night as an adult family party of 5. Downstairs there is a large bar area with nite lights on the tables and no other lighting. This could be seen as 'romantic' but I personally like to see where I am and it was quite dark in there. Drinks are reasonably priced for central Bristol. Upstairs there is a huge dining room with several stations serving different foods from around the world. It has a huge variety of dishes you are definately spoilt for choice. Its an 'eat as much as you like' buffet and for the price is reasonable and good value. The food is cooked to perfection with top chefs working very hard and tables are cleared regularly and often. Staff are friendly, welcoming and work hard to ensure that you have everything you need. However, as the place is new not all the staff are familiar with the table layout or where everything is. The set up is so large and busy that there are queues for most of the food stations, which resulted in our food being almost cold by the time we got back to the table. Some main dishes were not available as there were quite a few empty containers around. The same with the sauces lots had run out. Some of the food stations were having trouble coping with the demand, especially the dessert station where queues were really long for the chocolate fountain and other desserts. The atmosphere is extremely loud and busy its hard to have a conversation there, so for a romantic evening out its a definate No. Likewise for a business meeting over dinner. Really we felt that it was ideal for a lunchtime meal rather than an evening dinner. We felt like we were in an overcrowded market place. To improve it would need to make some of the food stations larger to cope with demand and employ more staff to fill up empty containers of food one (the Teryaki chicken) was empty for over 1/2 hour as we went back twice to this I dont think anyone noticed as the lids on containers are self closing. All in all its top quality food cooked to perfection, and a huge selection at a reasonable price. If you can cope with the queues and noise level that is. read more

Have been to Za Za's 3 times since opening, each time during the day. To me, it seems to be all style, no substance. The food is of mediocre, or often lower quality. Seemingly all pre-frozen products, the desserts are hard to fault, but the same desserts as every single 'all you can eat' in Bristol (and there are several now). The sushi is poor, it has only been veg sushi every time I've been there, whilst it looks good, the ingredients are very basic and the sushi appears to be left a while on the cold serving services causing everything to become hard. The 'American'/fried food is usually 'cardboardy' and very bland. The Indian food is actually not bad, so it is what I tend to go for. The chinese style dim-sums served are on par with what you would get at Asda for a basic cost. The 'English' food is not great, but there are (poor) chips, because chips are a safe bet for all apparently. The waiting staff vary, I have had people ignore me and forget things, in each visit, however, there has usually been a good waiter around to pick up the slack and resolve the issues at hand. However, Za Za's does have a good selection of world beers, but they are expensive for the bottled form they come in, so if you don't mind paying a little over normal, you can get a good taste of beers. I would recommend the recently refurbed Cosmos [much better than it was pre-refurbishment] or the consistent Shanghai Nights, both nearby, both consistently better than Za Za's and it's all style, lack of substance approach. read more
