Despite being a Chinese takeaway the emphasis is very much on English food, with fish in particular. The fish tastes pretty traditional and the chips are bang on - chunky fish shop ones. Steak and onion pie, battered sausages and chicken wings thrown in these guys always hit the greasy fill-me-up spot. Just don't expect any conversation.

Service is fast and professional but the staff don't speak much English so don't expect a lot of chit-chat when you are being served.

They are also one of the few places that offer duck fried rice! I might be the only person ever to be so excited about that-it's the most amazing thing to eat! The Decor is what you'd expect, magazines from 1975 and a slightly dingy look but don't let that fool you, behind the wooded shutter style doors is a master chef! It's on Gloucester road just after the arches, i tend to park on the road just left of the new sainsburys as there's always a space. All major buses run via this street so it's perfectly accessible. The BBQ ribs were some of the best i've had, with the meat just falling off the bone, the sauce as well was so much nicer than any others I have had before, usually they taste a bit fake or out of a pot, but you could tell that this one was cooked properly. THe guy who served me as well was very helpful and had one of the biggest smile's I have ever seen, and with my order not taking too long at all I was pretty chuffed. One downside though, the reading material while you waited was pretty dire, it was all ladies magazines, and nothing to cater for the men, is one sports paper just a bit too much to ask!?

Together my friend and I had so much food it was almost embarrassing. Luckily her boyfriend arrived later and hoovered up the rest of it! Given the portion sizes, it would be very possible to spend only around £8 here and have plenty of dinner for three people. The only negative I have to say is that we were seriously thirsty for a whole day after eating this food. I don't know if it had very high extra salt content, or if we just chose naturally salty things, but we did suffer a bit as a result of eating this food, which is a shame as it was very delicious at the time.

Admittedly we do have a few really good Chinese restaurants: HK Diner, Mayflower, Dynasty & Watersky. These are the names you'll here when you ask for a good Chinese, but not all of them do takeaway and NONE of them delivery. I came across Panda and even though they are all the way in Redfield, thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered Beef with Honey & Black Pepper Sauce, my girlfriend had Sweet & Sour chicken and we shared noodles with beansprouts and a boiled rice. My beef was super tasty but unfortunately the sauce was really thin. I don't think it was meant to be like that. I don't like sweet and sour, so I didn't try it, but there were no complaints. The other dished were fine, but you can't do too much wrong with plain noodles and boiled rice. It's sad really, because at the moment a 3 star review of a Chinese take away is actually pretty good for Bristol. And I know I'm not the only one thinking the same. I'd welcome any receomendations?

Every time I've succumbed to a Chinese from this place, I've ended up sorely disappointed and left with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, which can only be described as the classic combination of greasy food and unadulterated shame. On top of this, the area behind the counter seems to be used as some sort of crèche (from what I can tell, the owner's kids are literally being reared in the shop) and the person serving never seems particularly happy to see me, but then this could possibly be because I never look particularly happy to see them.
