The taro croquette was good, the hargow dumplings and peanut and chive dumplings were good. The gailan stir-fried vegetable with garlic was ok. The shrimp and pepper stir-fried ho fun (rice noodle) was not good. Better avoid that one if you have an experienced palate. We went at 130p on a Sat. There were a few small tables with Chinese diners and one large table with students. The staff has changed - there were more Western staff and there is a new-ish AYCE menu for 17.95 per person which hopefully brings in more patrons. That menu looks like good value for folks who like that version of Chinese food. Overall, it's ok. Close to home and fairly good. Certainly, I've had better in Bristol , but times have changed.

The BBQ ribs were some of the best i've had, with the meat just falling off the bone, the sauce as well was so much nicer than any others I have had before, usually they taste a bit fake or out of a pot, but you could tell that this one was cooked properly. THe guy who served me as well was very helpful and had one of the biggest smile's I have ever seen, and with my order not taking too long at all I was pretty chuffed. One downside though, the reading material while you waited was pretty dire, it was all ladies magazines, and nothing to cater for the men, is one sports paper just a bit too much to ask!?

Given the portion sizes, it would be very possible to spend only around £8 here and have plenty of dinner for three people. The only negative I have to say is that we were seriously thirsty for a whole day after eating this food. I don't know if it had very high extra salt content, or if we just chose naturally salty things, but we did suffer a bit as a result of eating this food, which is a shame as it was very delicious at the time.

These are the names you'll here when you ask for a good Chinese, but not all of them do takeaway and NONE of them delivery. I came across Panda and even though they are all the way in Redfield, thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered Beef with Honey & Black Pepper Sauce, my girlfriend had Sweet & Sour chicken and we shared noodles with beansprouts and a boiled rice. My beef was super tasty but unfortunately the sauce was really thin. I don't think it was meant to be like that. I don't like sweet and sour, so I didn't try it, but there were no complaints. The other dished were fine, but you can't do too much wrong with plain noodles and boiled rice. It's sad really, because at the moment a 3 star review of a Chinese take away is actually pretty good for Bristol. And I know I'm not the only one thinking the same. I'd welcome any receomendations?
