We ordered Door Dash for pick-up & although one couldn't communicate well nor did they have the order ready, we were more than happy to support this local business and encourage folks to give it a chance. My husband did the pick-up and says it's not the best venue for hanging out but we're just in the mood for take-out so perfect for us! The BBQ chicken is super yummy and jabati is wonderful. I would recommend this plate for sure!!! The meat of the gyro plate was well done, but wish it had come with some kind of sauce as it was otherwise dry. Maybe the gyro wrap is better? This place serves the best Somali food in Seattle. Their customer service is top notch, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. The restaurant itself is neat and tidy but it can get little crowded due to their popularity. The food is very good I'm obsessed with their rice dish, particularly the one with beef suugar or goat meat and also their past whether it's beef steak or chicken steak, they'll never disappoint. When my Somali friend described Somali food to me, I couldn't believe it wasn't a more common cuisine in the U.S. I was happy to see so many Somali restaurants in Seattle and knew I had to go. And Sabah did not disappoint. Everything about the food was so good. The meat, the bread, the salad. I enjoyed every bite and so did all my friends. EAT HERE. DO IT!!!!! This is some of the best food I've eaten in Seattle. We ordered goat over rice with salad, chicken with hummus rice and salad, and chicken and vegetable and japati dish. Everything was spiced BEAUTIFULLY and cooked perfectly. The japati was perfect and chewy, we used it with every dish. I dont know what's in the little green containers of sauce that comes with each dish, but it's a perfect balance of bright citrus and spice without overwhelming you. We've been waiting for this place to open up for quite a while, so we were happy when we noticed the "now open" sign outside. The food was great; we ordered the combo plate with all of the different meats as well as the pasta dish (I think it was called manti). A pita like bread was served first and it was excellent. The combo platter was a little expensive, but it could easily feed two. The manti went well with the combo dish even though it also came with rice. Man oh man where do I even begin?! Ordered myself goat meat (came with rice, side salad, & noodles), sambusa, and gyro. Everything was super flavorful and delicious. I agree with the other reviews that the gyro doesn't even need sauce because of how flavorful the meat is. Sambusa is a really good size and it's only $1?! Amazing! To those who are concern how big or little the portion is ... trust me my goat meat plate can feed two people! This place may not have the look of fancy,but the food was so amazingly delicious and satisfying! The owner is from Somalia,and the taste is incredible . Also the chai was a spice chai,we ordered the chicken and rice ,gyros,and somosas. My family was happy and stuffed! Great job on the authentic taste!! We were from out of town,and running late. Food was so filling and good. Got a plate with a mix of chicken and lamb. They don't skimp on the food portion with the to go containers. And it was reasonably priced (~$15) compared to what is normally provided by restaurants in seattle. Definitely would come here again. read more

When I first ordered I thought this was a Mediterranean or Halal place. Never knew what Somalian food taste like, but now after having it, I can't get enough of it! It was so flavorful and tasty and hearty. You know that favorite dish Your mom makes for you that you know she put her foot in it and makes it with Love. Yeah, that's how this restaurant cooks their food. From the heart. I recommend everyone to try this restaurant for their self if you don't believe me. I dare you! They did forget my sambosa, but it's fine because The Chicken and Rice and Salad plate and the Beef Gyro proved that it's worth giving some grace. I live in Kirkland but was in the area and wanted to bring home something I couldn't get near me. Absolutely delicious! I ordered the goat with rice for myself and the BBQ chicken with veggies and lentils for my husband who isn't always a fan of goat or lamb...he LOVED everything! Yusra and Sabah has great Somali food. I go here in particular when I want to be super full. I usually get goat meat and rice to go and I have never finished it in one sitting. The goat meat is well flavored and slow cooked so it is much more tender than normal. It comes with a small salad, steamed veggies, meat and flavored rice in a large box. Sabah is usually there with a giant smile making sure food is cooked right. The parking lot is terrible but I don't usually rate restaurants on the building structure. It's also a very good delivery item through any of the delivery services they are on unlike some food that loses its luster after a 20 minute car ride. If you haven't had Somali food before, I recommend giving them a try. It's not an ambience type place but feels more like delicious home cooking! read more

I always love this place, this is my fourth order . They're so nice I actually look forward to picking up my food..which is consistantly delicious. The soft subtly sweet bread and lovely seasoned chicken plus two sides of vegetables always makes me happy. Its not heavy or greasy, you wont regret a meal here. read more
