#1 Yelp rated Chinese restaurant in Lucerne -of course there is only 3 Chinese restaurants listed in Yelp in this Swiss city. Place specializes in spicy hot noodle soups. However, it was in the 80s, and I wasn't about to eat soup on a hot day. Our CHF22 chicken dish came with spicy chili chicken, with ear mushrooms and rice. As in most Swiss restaurant, dish comes with rice, but only half a small bowl for the two of us. The chicken was fresh and fell off the bone, using a chopstick in each hand to peel off. Excellent dish, but could use more white rice. Seven steamed shrimp dumplings came with our CHF18 shrimp dumpling dish. Standard presentation in a steamed bamboo pot, with the shrimp tasty and not rubbery. Had to pay CHF4, or $4.28, for two glasses of tap water. Will remember next time to bring my own water to guzzle down prior to stepping into a restaurant in Switzerland. Authentic Chinese food served here. How do I know it's authentic? Any time they serve meat dishes with the bones still in them, in a sauce, it's authentic, as Americans don't want to mess around with bones in sauces. Also, only Chinese eating here. read more

This was the only Asian restaurant we went to on our European trip. I'm glad to see such an authentic Chinese restaurant in Luzern. All of us had a bowl of spicy beef noodle soup. The spice level is pretty good - the owner offers levels 1 through 10 and we felt that the level 10 was a good satisfying level of spicy for those of us who are used to eating very spicy food. Those with more delicate tastes can opt for no spice and still have a very tasty bowl of beef noodle soup. The flavor profile is good - exceptional for what one can find in this part of Europe. It was very satisfying. We also ordered the cold chicken with dipping sauce - its mild taste is a good balance against the spice in the noodle soup. The star of our meal was the traditional chicken in clay pot. It is cooked exceptionally well and the flavors are subtle, but multi-layered and complex. Again, a good balance with the spices in the noodle soup. We ordered some of the fruity tea drinks with little pearl bubbles on the bottom. The flavor is a little bland and we wouldn't recommend it. read more

Service is prompt and friendly. Space was cute and clean. Ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup with Rice Noodles and Rose Petal Tea. Was asked how spicy I wanted the soup and said medium since she made it seem like spicy was spicier than Thai chilies. Medium spicy was less spicy than raw jalapeños. Beef were small luscious cubes with bursting five-spice flavor. Soup was rich and beefy. I cleaned the bowl! The Rose Petal Tea was served cold and sweetened. I'd down a pitcher of it easily. It was amazing to find this place on our way back from the Alps to Zurich. We were craving Asian food after eating sausages for almost a week (the sausages were good but you know....), we googled the area and seemed only this place could provide something to ease the craving. So we came here and we were very happy that we came! Everything tasted great. We had the spicy chicken, the steamed chicken, the steamed cabbage with mushroom, rice and tea. We were expecting dishes just made with sauces but these were not. The condiments used were made from scratch or semi scratch thus the flavors were genuine. The owner is from Yunnan and her husband used to work at the local Hilton in Yunnan as a chef. She was very nice and helpful. The place takes credit card which was a great help. Love it! read more

Oh my goodness did I LOVE Yun Nan! The ladies working were so pleasant and we really enjoyed talking with them. The atmosphere was so tranquil, calm, and the aromas from the tea and food were fantastic. My husband and I shared the meat and veggie Dim Sum and the Spicy Pork Noodle Soup with Chili. They were both delicious, the Dim Sum was moist and tender and the noodle soup was amazing, it had so many great flavors! I would definitely recommend Yun Nan. We shared a pot of Aromatic Orange Tea and it was wonderful, I had never had Chinese tea before. YUM! read more

Very friendly and extremely clean and organized inside. A huge selection of great teas and a thoughtful food menu. They are able to adjust the spice level to your discretion and love that they use real chicken still on the bone to produce the ultimate flavour. This restaurant is close to our hotel. My stomach craved for some Chinese food after we were away from home for three days. The food helped to calm my stomach but not very impressive. The waitress was busy chatting with her friend and didn't give us much attention, which I didn't mind too much.
