Thai Boat with Pork Belly
Diego M.

You know an Asian place is gonna be bomb af when you're the only person in the restaurant who can't speak the language. Nonetheless, the service is very kind and welcoming. Try the Thai Boat with pork belly. Hope their service and recipes never change!

Wow! Ordered food for pick up and the "steak salad" was literally the saddest damn salad I have ever seen!!! Papaya was soooooo little too! So disappointed- lost my appetite just seeing the food and didn't even end up eating the food.

5/24/25, I ordered 2 Appetizer Platters for today's nutritional needs. All items are exquisite.

Pho noodles and a bug

First time going here the place service was good, looked clean where you eat in at.did a call in order for a combo pho got home and went to empty the noodles out it the bowl and there was a bug in the noodles...I would recommend to avoid this if this bug got in a tight container mind you the bug is dead from the heat of the noodles I couldn't imagine what is back there in the kitchen...

The name is no lie, this is some Yummy Thai. The customer service is excellent, and the food is outstanding! I ordered some of our old favorites and asked for a house suggestion and we ordered that too (Khao Mun Kai). Everything was delicious and we have a definite new favorite in Khao Mun Kai. The ambience is "Hole in the wall" and it's perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. We are definitely adding Yummy Thai to the rotation.

The food is great. The atmosphere is chill it's a hole in the wall spot but great food. The only thing I say is be specific on how you want your food. I read a review that it wasn't spicy enough for them but when I ordered spice level 3 it was hot for me but goodness it was still so good. The young man Gabe was very interactive and made sure I had everything I needed. Awesome customer service. I will always recommend here.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The food was absolutely delicious. We had the spring rolls which were delightful and had tons of filling, perfect appetizer. I ordered the beef/meatball pho and it was fantastic: the broth in particular was so good. My wife had the Pad Khee Mao (Drunken Noodles) and let me tell you... 11/10!!!!!!! Try for yourself and you will see. Above all that, our server was honestly one of the best I've had at a restaurant in the Merced-Modesto area. He even let us know that everything was made with love and believe me, we tasted that love in every bite! Overall 9.7/10.0 restaurant and I highly recommend, best Thai I've had from Merced-Modesto area.

First time here. Made a stop here for dinner. Friend's choice. Can't lie we thought we might end up eating a house instead of a restaurant since it routed us through a neighborhood after getting off the freeway . Place was pretty empty when we arrived. Staff was pretty chill and friendly. Both got the boat noodle and a Thai tea. Boat noodle was alright. The broth was on the sweet side which we didn't like much. Tendons was pretty soft. Portion size was not bad. Thai tea could have been better. Personally it tasted too milk. Didn't finish mine and ended up tossing it once we stopped to tank up. Back room with the bathrooms were was super hot. Overall, not a bad place.

Food is always amazing. Good food is rare in Merced so this place is a huge gem. Their pho is to die for and those angel wings are the bomb

Upon arrival, the restaurant had plenty of space and a friendly, booming owner to welcome us. We…read moresat wherever we wanted, and menus were brought over quickly. We chose to order: - Imperial Rolls (chicken, shrimp, a lettuce, cucumber, cilantro, and bean sprouts in rice paper wrappers) with a delicious peanut-soy dipping sauce; - Tom Kha Kai soup (Coconut Chicken), Spicy 3 (1-10); - Chicken Pad Kee Maow (Drunken Noodles), Spicy 3 1-10). The food came out quickly and very fresh. The Imperial Rolls were tightly wrapped and stuffed well (albeit more like cigarillos than the larger egg roll size you'd expect). And they had 2 small shrimp in each, as opposed to the pictures in the menu which showed 3 shrimp lining the insides. Cuts happening everywhere. ‍ The Tom Kha Kai was well-blended (coconut and broth melded beautifully and creamy!), chicken, mushrooms, and white onion slices were perfectly cooked in a serving bowl and not the usual sterno-fueled soup contraption. It was mildly spicy and probably the best I've ever had! The Chicken Pad Kee Maow was different than others I've had. Sam Cafe adds in a little sweetness (Tamarind?), broccoli, chunks of cabbage (also slightly sweet), carrots, onions, red peppers, tomato chunks, and basil...along with the requisite large rice noodles and white meat chicken. Truly satisfying and delicious without feeling super oily, burnt, or lacking sauce. The entire meal was a great deal and an amazing find in the middle of the Central Valley! Next time I'm up this way, Sam Cafe is on my itinerary!

We were frequents of this place prior to it changing ownership and we absolutely loved this place…read more We finally decided to try it since the ownership change. Let me tell you-from the second you walk in being warmly greeted to the second you walk out with warm "thank you for coming in, hope to see you again soon" , it's amazing! The ambiance and decor is warm and bright. It's tropical feel with the mix of burnt salmon orange and cool pops of aqua are inviting. It's clean and modern. It's cozy and feels home like. The place was updated with new tables and chairs, nice navy blue table cloths, chairs and bench seating, a new check out counter was all tastefully done, the dishes are clean white "china" with gold trim. The glasses are like a dainty goblet and you feel like you are in an expensive, ritzy place. You can sit anywhere you'd like. You are greeted and conversed with, taking your drink order. The drinks are brought to you with a smile and you tell her what you'd like to eat. If there is something you aren't sure of they are excited to explain. The presentation is absolutely amazing! We eat with our eyes first and let me say that my eyes were very excited and happy! We were used to the cuisine we had before and so we didn't know what to expect. Our dishes didn't disappoint! I had my usual, Panang Curry with chicken and added mixed vegetables and sticky rice. My husband had BBQ Beef. My sons had the combination pho and chicken satay. From the first bite to the last it didn't disappoint. The Panang was gorgeous and flavorful! The veggies were perfect and I ate until I couldn't eat anymore! The BBQ Beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. My son loved the pho, it looked and smelled amazing and tasted so good! My younger son didn't waste any time with the chicken satay. It was tender and flavorful. We will definitely be back. It is STILL our favorite Thai restaurant. It's a gem in Merced.

The food delicious and service was good! There wasnt a long wait time and they were very attentive…read more Highly recommend!
