I stopped in here to grab a to-go dinner order. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Orders are placed and picked up at the counter. Waiter service is minimal at best. Idle chit chat was non-existent. There is a TV mounted and free WiFi offered to help pass time while orders are being prepared. My order was completed in a prompt manner. I ordered the Yummy Combo (Y2): Sandwich + 2 egg rolls for $5.45. My sandwich was served on a thin crusted baguette with grilled chicken, marinated radishes, carrots, jalapenos and cilantro. What a refreshing and delicious change from the standard Subway sandwich. The egg rolls were crisp, hot and flavorful. I also ordered a side of Egg Rolls (qty 3) for my wife for $3.25. An assortment of soda's, energy drinks, lemonade and tea's are available to quench ones thirst. If Bubble Tea is preferred, Yummy Deli offers a large selection of Milk Tea and Smoothies. This has been my go-to for quick Vietnamese food during my short lunch hours. It's not exceptional, but the price is reasonable, and that's good enough for me when I want a taste of home. The staff have been friendly. They accommodate even when I request certain drink flavors mixed together and don't charge any extra. Their drinks aren't made until you arrive so if you order ahead, you won't arrive at the counter to a half melted iced drink. The Banh Mi have been good. There are times when it was loaded with meat, and times when it could use another handful. But with the combos, I'm not complaining. Egg rolls are sometimes soggy but I've gotten crispy more times than not. Spring rolls. I love 'em here. Never had a bad spring roll from here, though I've only gotten the Fresh Roll. Peanut sauce is average. Skewers have been good though a little expensive for the price. Beef stew might be a little salty for others, but I enjoy the extra salt. Vermicelli, not amazing, but not terrible. Would go for the pho over the vermicelli. Broth is sweet. Good size. I don't like my bowls loaded with toppings, and their portions are perfect. read more

Compared to competition in the area, it was equally as goo, but location is a little bit hidden. My quick review: really like the bahn mi here, the bread is excellent. Most places just have ok but this one has really, really good bread. I've had the pork and it's good but the steak is where it's at for me, they must add a bit of some sort of sauce to caramelize it a tiny bit before they serve it up. Tried this after co workers that frequent vietnamese food suggested it. I got the grilled pork combo that came with egg rolls and also treated myself to a bubble tea. Everything was wonderful. I didn't know what to expect never having this type of sandwich before or pickled diakon for that matter.. it was well worth the reasonable $10 I paid for everything. This place is awesome, struggling to decide whether it is the first or second best banh mi I have had. My other top choice is Yeh Yeh's in Edmonds off of highway 99. Owner was friendly and accommodating, I asked him to put Sriracha in my grilled pork and egg banh mi which he had no problem with. Bread was fresh and soft, pork and veggies were plentiful so a very good portion. I later found out for a dollar more I could have gotten an egg roll and a drink, I might try that next time. My only suggestion is the fried egg in the sandwich, maybe give the option to not cook it so long? I like a runny or at least soft egg, this yolk was definitely cooked to the end. This place also wears masks so that adds extra bonus points to me in my head. Visited for a late lunch on a super rainy day. This shop was worth going out in the crappy weather. I ordered a combo with a grilled pork bahn mi, spring rolls , and mango milk bubble tea with coconut jelly for about $11. The spring rolls included shrimp, a slice of meat I was not able to identify and a crispy Funyun type stick in the middle. Sorry for the lame description but it was delicious and fresh that went perfectly with the peanut sauce. My sandwich was also very much and I liked that they used a bolillo type roll instead of just a baguette which are often too hard to enjoy without scraping your mouth. This roll was crispy and not overly doughy so it allowed the pickled veggies with the grilled meat to be enjoyed. I enjoyed every bite to the end. read more

There's a good chance I am missing a star ONLY because I didn't try the sandwiches. My nose was stuffy and I wanted some pho broth I could turn red and use to steam out my skull, and they did an awesome job. But reading the other reviews in more detail makes me think I didn't quite get the full effect. That's alright. These guys are easy to find and I will be back for a banh mi soon. They're in a part of Everett that most people would say lacks charm. It's safe enough, but you're on a high-speed 5-lane road that's full of strip malls. Yummy is in one of the newer bits of construction. There's some parking, there are floor to ceiling windows on two walls. It could be a million different chain restaurants, but in the case of this particular chunk of real estate, it's a mom and pop vietnamese spot. Mom and pop appeared to be literally behind the cash register Saturday night, in fact. There's an odd mix of pop country and older pop on the speakers, and there's a flat screen set to mute showing equally odd channels. There are big menus behind the counter, and that's where you order. The usual suspects are there--rolls, bowls, pho, banh mi. Prices are fantastic; you pay up front. You take your seat and they bring you out your food, drinks, napkins, and silverware. The fresh rolls were drier and chewier than I like, and seemed clearly pre-made. No fresh vegetables in there, no cilantro or anything. The peanut sauce was just fine, and blended well with the hot sauce of course. Went through almost all of it trying to moisten up the roll. The pho was totally solid. Brightly colorful condiments with no sign of age, seemed very fresh. Ingredients in the bowl looked equally fresh. The meatballs had great flavor and were very firm--most likely house-made, I'd say. The broth was clear and flavorful, but I attacked it with chili paste anyway. In the end, two drinks, two large bowls of pho, and fresh rolls were $25 before tip. There are pho places south of here charging that much for one meal. Those are the exceptions, but still, these days, $25 for a full table to of food is quite the steal. Looks like I need to be back for a sandwich, and I have a sneaking suspicion that will add a fifth star. read more

So we are in Mukilteo for a wedding, and my man is out for the day playing on jet skis for the bachelor party. I am spending the day at the B&B fine-tuning the ceremony that I am officiating, so alone and sans food. I work all day, and then decide it's time to eat. I do a little research on local cuisine, and I see Yummy Deli - yay! I've been wanting a banh mu recently anyway, and this place gets good reviews, so I am stoked. I drive about 5 miles to get there, order my pork and chicken banh mi with a fried egg. Also some egg rolls and a vietnamese iced coffee. Back at the B&B about 25 minutes later I dig in. Gotta say - Yelp REALLY let me down. No chicken to be seen. The pork was literally half big chunks of fat. The fried egg was burnt and unchewable. The amount of meat at all was extremely limited. The picture I've uploaded is literally half the "meat" (meaning the chunks of fat that made up half the sandwich) plus the burnt egg pieces that felt like Tyvek - unyielding and tasteless. The vietnamese iced coffee is supposed to be sweet, I know - but this appeared to be pretty much only sweetener and an ounce or two of coffee. And the egg rolls were burnt, old and cold. Cannot believe I actually drove just to go to this place. I'd have been better off eating grass from the yard out back. I am assuming that because I went at a weird hour (3:30pm, so neither lunch nor dinner) they just had leftovers and wouldn't do anything fresh for me. So maybe at regular dining hours the food is better. Based on the good reviews I can't imagine what else explains it. However, my experience was a big two thumbs down. Our food took a long time to come out to us (~15-20 min), and my Banh Mi had way too high of a bread to meat ratio for my liking. This place has fantastic food. The Pho Tai is incredible, and the Sandwiches are divine. I took off one star because you have to look inside your sandwich and be sure you are not going to get all 3 slices of your Jalapeño in one bite. Wow that bite was terrible! I've been a fan of Yummy Deli since it's early days when I lived in Everett 7-8 years ago. The sandwiches are fantastic. I love that they use the shorter/wider baguettes that are light and crispy as opposed to the longer, slender Vietnamese baguettes sold at Asian markets. I went back to visit after many years and the quality is just as good as it was back then. I had the Vietnamese hams sandwich with a thai milk tea. The total came to ~$10 which is an excellent value for what you get. I highly recommend to anyone that wants a quality but quick bite to eat that won't break the wallet. read more

They use the wide bread instead of the long Sub bread which I didn't mind at all. They pickle their veggies so that's when you know that they know what they're doing when making sandwiches. The Evergreen Market down the street has sandwiches but they veggies aren't pickled, ew, not the business. The Taro BBT is sooooo good, I think it's right up there with Oasis (see my review on them.) It is soooo sweet, I love it! My boyfriend got the Thai iced tea drink (he wanted a shake but he didn't specify) & that was good too. Who would have thought this little, hole in the wall, off the beaten path deli would have one of the BEST Vietnamese sandwiches from Everett to Seattle? Ok, I'm not from Everett but have eaten tons and tons of sandwiches in Seattle including the infamous Saigon Deli in the ID. I will say this for a fact. This place beats their sandwiches hands-down. Why, you ask? I'll tell you. 1) That bread..ooh..that bread..they have the best French bread. It's PERFECTLY toasted with a light crisp on the outside but has a soft, tender, perfect chewiness on the inside. Their bread is unlike some bad bread where you bite into it and hurts the roof of your mouth b/c it's so hard. 2) The meat. I ordered the pork and it was seasoned well and very tender. They give you a good amount where you get meat in every bite unlike some delis where they skimp. 3) The veggies-the cucumber and cilantro were fresh. The carrots and daikon were nicely pickled with a good crunch. Not mushy at all. 4) The price- $2.95. Hello??? And better yet, order #8 and you get a sandwich, 2 fried rolls and a drink for $5.45! What! Besides great sandwiches, I had the fried rolls. They came out piping hot and crisp. The inside had nicely minced pork and bean thread. The sweet chili sauce was the best complement. My coworker had the Pho and said it was excellent. I took a spoonful of his soup and must concur it was bomb. Great seasoning with the star-anise but not overwhelming. And it wasn't overly salty.
