I was searching for a Fujian-cuisine spot in the Sunset park area (Brooklyn's Chinatown), and this hidden joint popped up during my search. Eater NY and the Fung Bros did a mention of this place, so I figure I'd check it out and see it for myself, along with my FJ buddy as a guide.
It's a very hole in the wall, straight-forward greasy spoon type of place. Order what you want off the menu on the wall, sit and eat at one of their tables, and get out. I ordered the signature Fuijian items: peanut butter noodles, razor clam & short rib soup, and Shanxi wonton soup.
The highlight of the meal was the Shanxi wonton soups ($4). The wontons are homemade, filled with fatty pork goodness & wrapped in silky smooth wonton skins. The PB noodles ($3) were just okay, but I wasn't able to eat it immediately so the noodles get soggy and sticky fast (just a pro-tip eat it as soon as you receive it/ not good for takeout). The razor clam & short rib soup ($6) was a bit disappointing, in terms of flavor profile and fell a bit flat.
Overall, it was just an okay experience for me here, but for $20 total it makes it up for the price point. Only worth going for the wontons in my opinion.
