A Japanese restaurant opening next to Toro Toro. And not to mentioned Ikon Sushi is right around the corner. I give them credit for their gusto. I personally have not been to its closest competitor which is right adjacent to them, but based on hearsay it seems like they have a steep hill to climb. How they differentiate themselves is by offering bubble tea and waffles and more wallet friendly sushi offerings. We got the salmon lunch special which consisted of seaweed salad, 2 pieces of steamed gyoza, 2 pieces of torched salmon sushi, chopped up spicy salmon on rice, miso soup and a choice of drink. I have the feeling that if you are looking for value, you are going to get it here, but if you are looking for quality, it's for now not quite there. The miso soup was lukewarm at best and I got on it right away. The torched salmon sushi was ok, but it could use a bit more salt and the sauce was just meh. As for the chopped spicy salmon rice, they had pickled radish, edamame, tamago, corn, imitation crab, some mixture of spicy mayo, and of course salmon. The imitation crab were crudely cut into rectangular prisms. It would be nice if they just took time to shred them instead. It would have given the dish a better appearance and taste. As for the salmon, I really didn't feel that it was super fresh. I believe they also give you the option to have torched salmon instead. The drink I got was the lime green tea. It was quite refreshing because of the chill from the ice and the natural lime taste, but I couldn't really taste the green tea at all. Good value in times of inflation, but you get what you pay for.

Me and my friends ordered sushi and boba

I love the food here, me and my friends ordered sushi and boba!! It was super good. Everything arrived quickly, and it was so peaceful and cozy. Sushi was delicious, and the boba was very cool and smooth to drink. 10/10 would definitely come back!

They have quite a few special roll options, though most were derivatives of California and Dynamic rolls. Tried the Lion King and Tataki Attack. Both were good with thin rice layers and relatively fresh seaweed wraps. I liked the Lion King better since it had more fillings. Chicken Karaage was so-so, more like pre-made chicken popcorn than authentic karaage. Shrimp Tempura was good - big shrimps wrapped in the thin, light and crispy batter. Service was great, the staff was very considerate - created a bigger space for us and added tea and napkins timely. Overall, a decent spot for sushi if you're in the area, but nothing that would make me drive across town. We showed up around 5:30 pm for an early dinner on Good Friday and still had to wait about half hour. What was ordered: Chicken karaage rice bowl Sushi and sashimi combo Sushi roll combo The verdict? The sashimi was good. Thick fresh slices. The roll (a version of California roll) was really disappointing. Way too much crab salad filler. The chicken karaage rice bowl was incredibly plain. Pieces of karaage on top of rice drizzled with mayo. The service was good but there wasn't enough to set them apart.

We were also informed it would take about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 40-45 minutes due to the lunchtime rush. Totally understandable though, and the manager was very apologetic and even gave us a $5 coupon for our next visit along with our box. When the food arrived, the presentation of the tasting box was absolutely WOW.. it was so beautifully done. We were honestly just too hungry at that point to admire it for long. Unfortunately, I noticed the first roll I picked still had cucumber in it, and when we flagged it, the staff immediately looked into it. It turned out there was a miscommunication about the substitution, and most of the rolls in the box had cucumber. The manager personally came over, apologized, explained everything, and immediately took care of it by offering to remake the box without cucumber and providing a full refund, which really went above and beyond. Despite the hiccup, the service and care from the team really stood out. Mistakes happen, especially during busy lunch hours, but the way the team responded made a big difference. I'd definitely come back again.

I ordered the dream platter and aburi Syaki oshi. I wasn't expecting it to be nicely packaged and it was a damn shame we threw them out but I almost felt like I paid for the extra nice packaging only to have it be tossed... but it does make an excellent gift for someone who really loves sushi! I wasn't expecting the gold leaf OR edible flower garnish at all. It was a very cute touch on this very snowy day. The oshi sort of fell apart everytime I picked it up which was a shame because it was nicely charred and sweet from the mango. Bit of a personal peeve but I don't think sushi should fall apart when you pick it up with a chopstick. I think it should stay in tact. Next time I'm gonna order takeout and have it delivered so I can feel like I had a nice package of sushi delivered

The environment is clean and typical of a Japanese Eatery and you'll notice some cheezy decorations to keep you aware that you're in for a Japanese Meal. Notice the staff in Casual Daily attire at the Sushi Bar, he offered me a seat as I look at the Lunch Specials and the Menu. There were some Ramune Drinks listed on 8x11s taped to the walls as long as another that listed a Sushi & Sashimi Lunch and a Lady Lunch. The Maki's posted seem to be quite Canadian in nature such as Crispy Maki, Silver Roll and Snowman. I hear the staff speak Chinese quite a bit between themselves which is no surprise at all within the Vaughan Japanese restaurant scene. Chicken Udon(Lunch Special $6.99) was nothing exciting to speak of. 3 ingredients in total consisting of some low quality Udon, Teppan fried Dark Meat Chicken and a Broth with a touch of sweetness. Sashimi Appetizer($6.99) didn't look appetizing but I have to say at least it was of decent portion quatity the size of 2 Sashimi pieces(2-bite). Looks can show how obvious the Sashimi was not cut with skill hands while the Fish especially Tuna didn't seem fresh and most surprising neither was the Pickled Ginger.

Please don't feel the need to everything at once as it comes out the kitchen fast. The food is good. No big complaints. My kids liked the won ton soup. The hot and sour soup was ok - could have been a little more "hot"/spicy. The sashimi seemed fresh. Sushi rolls were nicely presented. The fried rice was good. Teriyaki chicken and beef were good too. My biggest problem and the likely reason for not returning - sitting by the window, for which there are many tables/seats, the place was freezing! We had to wear our jackets inside the restaurant. I'm sure they know they have an insulation problem as well weren't the only ones wearing jackets inside. It was just uncomfortable to sit there and eat at it was just too cold.

One highlight was the variety of torched oshizushi options, which added a nice premium touch to the usual AYCE lineup. The mango sago pomelo and soft serve ice cream were easily the stars of the meal--definitely LEAVE SOME ROOM for them!! The only minor downside is that the space could use a bit of a refresh, as it's starting to show its age. That said, everything was overall clean, and the service was friendly.

Some have compared it to the McDonald's of sushi. So what's their secret sauce? They pride in using fresh ingredients, prepped to create one-of-a-kind rolls, and serving the food with smiles. From my experience, they stay true to their motto. The hope is that working hard will allow them to be rewarded. Kibo's grand maki options are no joke, and my favorite is Aburi Scallop Dragon Roll: a dynamited rolls topped with scallops, slightly torched to elevate a savoury umami mouthful. Takoyaki Tempura & Seaweed Wrap apps are also on point. All of their grand maki are generously prepped; some come with soft-shell crab or lobster tail as well. As another example: the Weston Roll is a unique offering for this location by Weston Rd with cream cheese, crabmeat, red pepper & avocado stuffed into a huge deep fried roll. Creative, and somehow the flavours work for a delicious meal. For a quick bite, there are $15 daily specials including a Dynamite Roll + Salmon Sushi combo, and $5 walk-in specials such as the Spicy Tuna Roll & Yam Tempura Rolls. Fresh ingredients shine through. For a small surcharge, it's worth upgrading to a tempera style roll for some bliss & crunchiness.
