I learned that Toco Tea was celebrating its one-year anniversary on July 30 through fellow Yelper Mike H. He advised that when you buy one drink, you get the second for free. Additionally, you get your drinks in special commemorative milk bottles. You had me at BOGO. I ran a bunch of errands in Richmond Hill that Saturday. I was mainly trying to use all my birth month perks. After spending a lot of time at Hillcrest Mall, I drove over to Toco Tea to check it out. It's in a plaza across from Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre. I backed into a spot steps away from the bubble tea place and walked in. I like looking at lighting when I'm in a store. This one had groups of similar light fixtures as you walked into the deep store. The spherical swirls within cubes were probably my favourite ones. I loved that each fixture style brought a different vibe as you continued walking towards the counter. There was a woman behind the counter who greeted me. I needed some time to look at the menu. I loved what I saw. I got the following drinks: - Mango green tea - Peach and strawberry green tea Both came with coconut jelly. Both were large, with no sugar and less ice. I paid with a debit card. I was indeed paying for the price of one drink. I tipped, tapped, and was done. I waited patiently for my goods. There is a wall with wings. You can technically pose with your drinks there. The menu also had waffles on the menu. I'll need to try some next time. There were tables and seating available. If you do want to spend some time here, there were board games available. It didn't take long to get my drinks. I thanked the man and left with my drinks. I liked the milk bottles. They had pull tabs. My drinks looked so pretty in them. I had the mango green tea when I got home. It was so good. The green tea was strong. The mango flavour was yummy. I loved the coconut jelly. There was a generous helping of it in blob form. It was fun breaking it up to enjoy it. I had the peach and strawberry green tea the next day. I have never seen this fruit combination before. I loved it so much. They worked well with the green tea. It also had coconut jelly, which became my new favourite blob topping. The pull tab on each bottle was fun and functional. I had no problem pulling it back so I could insert my straw and enjoy my bubble tea. I loved my bubble tea experience here. I wish that it were closer to my home. It was worth the drive over to Vaughan to get my bubble tea fix. I need to drop by the store soon because it's time. (371)

I like that you can get the bubble tea with a can lid, it's different and interesting. I got the jasmine green tea with tapioca. The tapioca was great, chewy, tasted how it should. But the tea flavour itself, I didn't enjoy. It tasted very artificial and overly floral. Also it tasted kind of metallic which I feel like is caused by the lid. It wasn't busy and the place is clean. The staff prepared the drinks quite quickly. I'm definitely willing to give them another chance because maybe something else on the menu is more tasty.

In a plaza filled with bubble tea chains, Toco Tea is another spot to consider for a classic milk tea! The quality of tea is quite solid for a relatively unknown spot in the GTA community but I can assure you the taste is quite good for the novelty of the bubble tea options!

Matcha lava boba

I ordered a regular matcha lava boba and this comes with boba you don't have to pay extra for it. When they gave it to me they made sure to specify to shake it very well prior to drinking because the brown sugar is at the bottom I guess for aesthetics and then once you shake it and sweetens the tea. The tea is delicious it is on the sweeter side but still delicious so go by itself is not sweet but I think that makes a good balance. The staff was super friendly and helpful I would come back.

Toco Tea - Crystal Noodle Milk Tea, Passion Fruit Yakult, and Cream Cheese Matcha drinks

Toco Tuesday can be a regular outing after all. Three months after my first visit here, it's worth revisiting my review! They've now entrenched among the crowded boba shop scene at Vaughan Mills. Grand opening was chaotic. But since then, I've visited the shop a handful of times without wait-time. It makes the boba experience much more pleasant. From my first visit, the Crystal Noodle Milk Tea (D7) was spot-on with short strands of tapioca noodles that made it almost a meal on its own. It seems to be their speciality topping. I added crystal boba for a pleasant subtle crunch. 50% sugar, no ice, with crystal noodle has become my go-to milk tea here. At $5.75 for large drinks, their world is your oyster! On a revisit I ventured at step further to crystal noodle & tapioca pearls combined in their Panda Milk Tea (D3). It looked comparable to drinks elsewhere, but Toco Tea's more silky flavours piqued my interest. Finally, I ventured one more step to crystal noodle, tapioca & red bean, levelling up to the house signature Toco Milk Tea (D17). Red bean rounds out the drink nicely with a sweet earthy finish. This boba shop has positively altered my initial impression based on recent experiences. I'm looking forward to when they'll have more bottle cans to go with their drinks. The team's service is always courteous and recent drinks have been well-prepared after a short order. I appreciate the interesting variety offered at Toco Tea. #ThankYouThursday2021

Black Diamond Okinawa Milk Tea and Toco Milk Tea

We tried this spot for the first time after seeing great reviews and we were very impressed. The menu had some really unique options so we already know a few drinks we'll have to try on our next visit. I ordered the Black Diamond Okinawa Milk Tea and loved it. It had a delicious taste and the coffee jelly complemented it perfectly. This is definitely one of my favourite milk teas I've tried. My partner got the Toco Milk Tea and loved it as well. It had a great taste but the main appeal was the three toppings included. The tapioca was great with the right texture, the red beans were nice, and the QQ noodles were a lot of fun. We've never got to try QQ noodles before but we loved them! We'll certainly be back here the next time we're in Vaughn.

Toco Tea is the new boba shop in town. This one is the first location in Canada. I visited for their grand opening, where drinks were half-priced. The first drink I ordered was the three heroes milk tea, which contains tapioca pearls, grass jelly, and pudding. It's similar to the Chatime Triple or the 3 Guys milk tea from Coco. I ordered this with no sugar, which was a huge mistake. While the pudding was sweet, the milk tea could have benefitted from some sweetness. I found the milk tea to be stronger than most other tea shops and reminds me of HK milk tea. I thought the drink could have had a little more grass jelly and pudding. The following day, I ordered the crystal noodle milk tea and the kumquat lemon green tea. This time I ordered the drinks with 50% sugar. While I thought 50% sugar was a little too sweet for my tastes, the crystal noodle milk tea was quite tasty. I thought the milk tea was smooth and a lot more flavorful than some of the other milk teas I've tried. The crystal noodles are like qq noodles and were perfectly cooked and chewy. I really like lemon flavored teas, like the lemon king from Coco and the lemon green tea from Happy Lemon, so I was excited to try their kumquat lemon green tea. The drink was quite lemony and had a nice tea flavor. It includes coconut jelly, which is a like clear grass jelly. It was a much needed refreshing drink on a hot summer day. The store is quite bright and inviting. There are several tables where you can meet with friends and enjoy your drink. They even have a sheet at the front to put your info for contact tracing if you decide to sit and stay for a while. Overall, I think Toco is a great alternative to some of the other well-established boba shops in the area. The drinks are just as good, if not better, and the price is slightly cheaper.

Been here a few times now and can confidently say that this is one of my new favorite spots! Their interior is to die for, just gorgeous. The staff are patient and super friendly. The tea base is light and tasty, the flavors are impactful and delicious and the tapioca is perfect every time. Can't wait to keep coming back here and enjoying all their other flavors! (So far, we've tried: Kamquat Lemon, Peach Strawberry, Peach Passion and Kiwi Passion)

While we were waiting for our drinks we sat at this really cute window nook and just took in the peacefulness. The server was very helpful with tea selections and knew which teas paired with what flavours. I got the non caffeinated tea (picture) with honey, no sugar, with grassy, and no ice. My wife had a mango tea with foam. Our drinks were perfect. I love that it was zero fuss. Surprisingly not very busy but we did just have a killer snowstorm. I'm definitely coming back here more often.

It's delicious!…read more After having a not-so-stellar Yelp experience at Ramin Isshin, I left the eatery with fellow Yelper friend, Jason. I felt like getting a drink. I noticed this Chicha San Chen and wanted to check it out. Jason joined me to work off some of the ramen that he had devoured. I've been to the Chicha San Chen at CF Markville. This store is at least twice as big as that location. There were plenty of places to sit down and enjoy your tea. I had a couple of fruity sparkling drinks at the CF Markville place. I was going to ask the man behind the counter if he had them. Instead, he said that he'd be back and I could look at the menu. It was delivered in a not-now-I'm-busy tone. It was odd. It's the only reason why this place doesn't get five stars. I'm so glad that Jason was with me. He said that the woman at CF Markville suggested that he get the high mountain pouchong tea with lemon juice and konjac. I decided to go with this drink. I got this drink with less sugar and less ice. I paid with my debit card on my phone. I tapped and was done. It didn't take much time for this drink to be made. It was nice chatting up a storm with Jason as we waited. The moment of truth was here. My drink was ready. I took a sip. It was awesome! The foam tasted like lemon meringue. The tea was perfect with the lemon juice. The konjac was chewy. I haven't had konjac since I visited Song Tea eons ago (rest in bubble tea peace). I wish that this drink came in a larger size. I drank it too fast... haha! I had a great experience with my friend's recommendation. I like that there's lot of parking in this plaza. I'd return again for more good bubble tea. Maybe staff will be more cheerful then. (437)

I will admit that before discovering Hana's Tea, I rarely visited Richmond Hill for bubble tea. I do now! Two of my visits have been after work on a Tuesday. I came here with a friend on a Thursday. You can park on Yonge Street, but parking is limited. There is parking behind Hana's Tea. The sign said that it was by the church. I did the opposite and parked behind McConaghy Centre and walked over. I got the following items as part of the event experience: - Lychee ade - S'mores cookie - Yuzu lemon and tiramisu macarons I love carbonated, fizzy drinks. The fruity ade line screams me. I got the lychee ade with no sugar. As usual, most folks question my choice to go without sugar. I'm used to it. It works for me. The lychee ade was awesome. There were bits of lychee in my drink, which made this drink naturally sweet. It was cold and refreshing to sip. Pure joy! The s'mores cookie had a huge marshmallow in it. I had to get it. It was divine. The toasted marshmallow was so good. The cookie was moist and had the right amount of chocolate to make it taste like s'mores, minus the graham crackers. I'd get it again. The interior is cute and is perfect for taking photos. I used the washroom during my first visit. The decor was lovely. It was clean. No complaints. I got the tiramisu and yuzu lemon macarons for my intern. It was her last day in the office the next day. I normally like to consume macarons before gifting them. I had a good feeling about them here because the filling was abundant and thick. We have similar tastes in everything, so I felt confident about gifting them to her. I paid with a credit card. It also allowed me to tip. Yay! All three visits consisted of my receiving a small bag of candies that had bubble tea in the centre. The next day, I gave her the macarons after we were discussing a work task that she was wrapping up on Wednesday. She was so excited. She ate both of them in a span of a minute. She had the tiramisu first. She said that it was slightly sweet and amazing. She thought that it was her favourite until she had the yuzu lemon. She said that it had lemon peel that made her love this one more. She is a younger version of me when it comes to food. I returned to Hana's Tea two days later. I joined my friend, Sandy, after work on a Thursday. It was her Yelp experience. I came back as a repeat customer. One of the women remembered me. I let her know that I loved everything that I had on Tuesday. I loved everything so much that I was back to order some more, which made her happy. I got these items: - Chicken gyoza - Peach ade - Yuzu lemon and tiramisu macarons The chicken gyoza were delicious. They were crispy on the outside with a thin wrapper on each one. The dipping sauce was perfect. Each gyoza was packed with chicken that was nicely seasoned. Yummy! I loved my peach ade. I got the same question about whether I was sure about going without any sugar. I was fine. It had small bits of peach that I loved. It also had coconut jelly. A large goes for $7, which is a steal. I finally had the macarons. OMG! The tiramisu tasted just like the dessert, but in compact macaron form. It was a touch sweet, but exceptionally yummy. The lemon peel bits in the yuzu lemon were amazing. It was excellent with the perfect amount of lemon brightness. I recently returned to get more macarons, to celebrate my friend's birthday early, who also happens to be my colleague, He had just returned from Paris. I suggested that he get macarons there. He did and loved them. Yep, I got macarons from Hana's Tea. I was hoping that it wasn't a step down from his Paris experience. It wasn't! I got two of each macaron flavour: - Nutella - Crème brûlée - Yuzu lemon The two female staffers recognized me. Yep, I'm becoming a regular. I also got a strawberry coconut refresher. I got it with no sugar and less ice. The female staffer was trying to get me to add sugar. I said that the strawberry syrup was sweet, as was the coconut jelly. End of story. Staff put my macarons in a box. I also got a paper bag to put everything in. It was a nice touch. I thanked them both and headed to my car to drive home. The following day, my friend and I indulged in macarons throughout the workday. We loved all three flavours. The crème brûlée was exceptional. It tasted like custard. I loved the Nutella macaron, which had Nutella filling. It was awesome! I have found a good place that makes yummy fruity ade, gyoza, and macarons. Staff are helpful and nice. I love everything that I have consumed so far, as have my friends. It's a gem of a spot. I will say that this place promptly closes at 9 pm when my friend and I were here on a Thursday. We chatted right up until 9 pm. We got a polite announcement from a staffer that the place was closing. You have been warned! (361)
