When I purchased a new washing machine, it was discovered that the plumbing behind my old machine…read morewas totally corroded. I did not even know this plumbing was behind the machine, and I was totally embarrassed at its condition. I called Area Plumbing and they scheduled me for the next day. As it happened, they had a cancellation on the afternoon that I called, and they came out that afternoon. It was a pleasure to deal with Preston and Jorge. They did beautiful work. Hannah, the receptionist, was also efficient and very courteous. They re-plumbed everything for the washing machine, and also took care of a problem with the shower and two hoses at the water heater. Much has been said about the high prices of Area Plumbing. For the type of work that was done, the amount of time it took, and the materials, I did not regard the price as too high. However, they looked at some other plumbing in my home, told me the price to make repairs, and it seemed high. The other work is not urgent, and I will do some price comparisons before making a decision. They charge a $98.00 evaluation fee, which is non-refundable and which will not be included into your total amount. This is a separate charge. Area Plumbing gained my trust, and so I lean toward using them again.

I was able to get same day service for a gas dryer install where a pipe had to be changed out. The plumber was courteous, and got the work done quickly and the rate was very reasonable. For the labor portion of the job I was charged a full 3 hours - $300.00. My time telling skills say this should be only 2 and a quarter hours for which I should have only paid $225.00 for Labor. I questioned Danen about the time and he just said it was 3 hours. I won't call Demco again, nor recommend them for any plumbing needs as they are over charging seniors on fixed incomes and are in my opinion dishonest for doing so. Also, after he left, I turned on my shower but then was unable to turn it off. The knob just kept turning. I called him and I do want to say, he came right back and fixed whatever the issue was. He had only been gone less than 5 minutes when I called, so a compliment for coming right back.

I called my husband who then remembered the name of the company who had come out once before: Westar. They said what we were told didn't sound right so they sent Edgar and Chris out within 20 minutes.
