We were able to watch opening night of the NFL thanks to our cable hookup.
    Derek M.

Every site is a pull through so if you back up your trailer as bad as I do you will be super happy. We stayed in site D2 and there was Power, Clean Out, Cable, and Water. In the men's restroom there are 3 showers, 3 sinks, 2 sit down toilets, and 1 urinal. They were very clean and well lit inside. My wife and i were able to watch the opening night of Football at our site to do the cable availability. With the cable we received 46 channels and with our regular antenna we received 9 channels. This was a very nice RV park. We did not feel cramped and they are located just across the freeway from gas stations with diesel and a Grocery Outlet, Wal Mart I'd a five minute drive and the downtown has some antique shops and a brewery.

Really newer nice park close off the hwy and we were told even though check in time was much later than when we were going to arrive that we could come early, lots of available spaces and we could pick. Not sure if they have a weekly or bi-weekly housekeeper for bathrooms as the tiled shower I used was full of hair trapped in the drain so the water sat high in it and floors looked as they had not been swept or mopped in awhile (under shower mats mostly). Other than that one of the nicer ones at $38 per night with Good Sam's membership.

    Nice division between each site
    Ms. S.

Just a bit pricey for an overnight stay unless you belong to good Sam's Club. Offers free coffee and pastries upon check-in to each morning after 7 AM, daily newspaper offered while supplies last. Each side is divided nicely with a small patch of lawn and a small tree.

Aerial view looking west. Taken from a DJI Quadcopter and with a GoPro camera.

To be…read moreclear, the campground is a short distance prior to the actual lake which has its own parking lot and trailheads. Once parked at the lake, you can embark on the moderate trail to Heart Lake. Approaching the lake, the trail is to the left of it and climbs along the lake shore with intermittent views. As you take a gradual but steady climb up, you will start to see views open up and eventually see Mt Shasta itself. Most hikers stop at Heart Lake which is a scenic spot with granite on one side and on the outlet side of the lake for Shasta views. If you're wanting a little bit of a longer hike, when facing the lake, make a right and log hop across its outlet and follow a faint but obvious trail to a rocky outcropping. There you will reach an amazing vista of Castle Lake and Mt Shasta. It's a great spot to have your lunch and take some amazing photos. Take care on the way down as there are some steep drop offs and slippery rocks. Most of the trail is exposed, so I'd go earlier in the day in the warm months. Depending on how far you go, it's 3-4 miles out and back. Wonderful way to have amazing mountain scenery in a short hike. Free parking at the lake and pit toilets (not the best, not the worst I've seen.)

The second visit was to hike the trail along the lake. For the beach time, it was a week day and it too crowded. I was able to snag a bench near the resort's public beach and enjoy the iconic views of Mt Shasta. As for the lakeside trail, it goes all the way around and is approximately 7 miles. I was short on time, so did a 3 mile out and back. Along the way, there are forested paths, Mt Shasta views and meadows to enjoy. The trail wasn't well signed and I lost it at some points. Since I was only doing a small section of it, I just followed the lakeshore best I could on my out and back. Early morning, it was a peaceful place. I'd love to come back and see about kayaking the lake or doing the entire trail. Lovely spot and a nice way to unwind near Shasta

We'd just come from a gross Thousand Trails and a loud state park. Coming here with the clean (and air conditioned!!) bathrooms and showers was lovely. The hosts were so nice. And it just felt quiet and relaxing, only punctuated by territorial stallions making a fuss. Nice additions are the giant shaded area with picnics tables and Adirondack chairs to hang out in- our space didn't have a tree so the shaded option was much appreciated. Most of the sites are located along Beaver Creek, but a few have their backs to the road (these are larger and seem to be best for groups). There is a pit toilet, but no other services - you must pack out what you pack in. There is no fee to camp here, but it's not very easy to get to either. I came in on I-5 North, took the exit for Highway 96, then a right onto Beaver Creek Road, which you'll find just after you pass through the small town of Klamath Falls. There will be a sign for Beaver Creek, but keep your eyes peeled or you'll miss it. The campsite itself was nicely laid out, but there isn't a clear distinction between sites so you might end up close by a fellow camper (assuming anyone else is there). I stopped over on a weeknight and one other camper was nearby, he had taken what's probably the best site (they're not numbered) which was at the very end of the campground. The website says the campground is closed, which undoubtedly prevents people from using it. However, I called the ranger station and they told me it was open. You should call to confirm this, especially during fire season. Also, you'll probably want to know if fires are permitted beforehand. I would stay here again, and recommend it if you're looking for isolation and tranquility. It definitely delivers on both. Here are the GPS coordinates: Latitude: 41.92708 Longitude: -122.83115

There are also flush toilets, automatic water sinks, automatic paper towel dispensers; all of which are well maintained. There are pay showers, if you wish to utilize being clean (50 cents for 4 minutes). Check the web site for all details of the campground. There is also a camp host in case of any emergencies or rowdy campers. Actually, there was one campsite that blared some music past 10pm (noise curfew) for an hour, which I went over there and ask him to turn it down (which he obliged). I will say that many of the campers were more on the strange side (drifters, displaced individuals, and the likes), all which seemed harmless. It seemed that 85% of the campers that were there, all had a dog or two. The Applegate River is about a quarter mile away. My family enjoyed playing in the river twice while we were camping here. Cantrall-Buckley County Park is literally across the street from the campground. And of course, our purpose for camping here was to visit Applegate Christian Fellowship with Pastor Jon Courson (located about 1 mile away). Be aware of speed traps coming into the valley here.
