My dog has stickers & pokies all over him because there isn't normal grass. ANYWHERE. My family & I showed up in sandals & had slivers/stickers all in our sandals. Very painful. Their website photos are either edited or were took a long time ago because this place looks nothing like it did on the website. If you're looking for a great family camping spot this is NOT a good one.

July 23-25, 2025 - Ashland, Oregon…read more The Point RV Park has 32 sites with full hookups overlooking the shoreline on the lake's north end. Each site offers water, 50-amp electrical service, sewer, and 14' x 50' pads. The RV Park is for Recreational Vehicles only. There is a locked restroom and 3 showers within the camping area. Look at your reservation confirmation for the code to the bathrooms and showers. There is a camp host on site. The campsites are arranged diagonally on a slope, providing a sense of space and privacy--you don't feel like you're right on top of your neighbor, even though you are very close. (The pads themselves are level.) There was no trail to the lake from our site, but the empty site next to us had a trail which a few campers were using to access the lake. This isn't a particularly quiet campground (except in the early morning), as it's located across from two docks, with boats coming and going throughout the day. During our stay, a helicopter was also conducting water release training, adding to the noise. Also worth noting are the many stickers, burrs, and foxtails throughout the area. If you have a dog, you'll need to be mindful of where they walk. During our stay, temperatures reached into the 90s, making the pavement too hot in the afternoon--and unfortunately, there wasn't anywhere sticker-free to comfortably walk our pup. A trail runs along the lake and leads to a rocky beach area--it's a nice walk. However, about a quarter mile in, there's a large poison oak bush encroaching on the trail. I didn't recognize it at first and brushed past it, so take care as you go. (Update on July 28--I did get poison oak...damn.) We brought our kayak, so my husband was up early each morning to go fishing. He caught a couple of fish, so he was very happy with this camping spot. On our last night, a distant lightning storm over the mountains treated us to a beautiful light show, which was a nice ending to our stay here.

It's got a nice little watering hole where we had some beers and floated around for hours... They got a nice thing going here, everyone knows each and you just get that real sense of community....I honestly don't think I met one unpleasant person in Happy Camp. The nearest bigger town is about an hour in half drive away in Yreka. That's where your gonna find a Walmart where you'll want to stock up on everything because there's only one grocery store for miles and miles and it's a bit pricy. It's not the fanciest of places so if your picky about dust and dirt this probably isn't for you. But if you can just enjoy being out surrounded by nature than I'd recommend it. Overall it was just an awesome experience. There's just nothing remotely like this in SoCal.

Old broken down travel trailer & junk Chevy S10 Blazer, with flat tires, stuff piled on it was next to our cabin. Broken steps up from parking spot, with debris laying about, around cabin. I booked a room several days in advance and tried requesting an early checkin to receive no response other than a day or two later being asked "How big and what breed" my dogs were, which was already odd to me as the response did not indicate whether an earlier checkin was possible and rather indicated that there may be breed restrictions that ARE NOT LISTED ANYWHERE on their website, booking.com, etc. Upon arrival we explained the need behind my partners presence due to the fire activity and the woman who answered the phone was sporadic, aggressive and very offputting. Even still, due to being 6+ hours from home, we were going to stay here since it was the only option. The woman turned out to be the "owner" who lied saying she was not on the property to help us but "sure check in early if your in a rush and to figure it out (how would we do that without an employee?) as we could see her exiting the property at the same time. We politely asked for a moment of her time to try and get checked in as she said then on the phone it was OKAY. She was rambling a mile a minute and at this point I decided i didn't feel safe staying here and asked if I could get a refund. She just screamed " BYE BYE BYE BYE " and told me to " get the f*ck off her property " she was very aggressive and I truly have never experienced anything like this. I felt like I was dealing with a drug addict... needless to say I do not recommend staying there. We will be spending the night in the car instead of putting our well being at risk. This woman should be drug tested and barred from owning a business. Any other option would be nicer. She acted like a disgusting person.

We had our dog with us outside and they were so sweet to her. Our dog wasn't allowed in the building but I was able to go in during the meeting and still find some good info for our trip. The facility is nice with plenty of parking and even though we came on a busy day we still felt welcomed and appreciated. I definitely recommend this stop to anyone heading to the area.
