    Nachos and esquite
    Brandon F.

I've seen this place so many times and I'm glad I gave it shot! The menu is pretty extensive. The workers there greeted us upon our arrival and were very nice. They speak both Spanish and English. The inside is very nicely decorated but I was unfortunately not able to eat there since I was running short on time. I ordered 2 agua frecas and they both hit the spot!!! The nachos were good. Nothing special to them but I wasn't craving loaded nachos. The esquite nachos were bomb! This is a good spot to hit for some traditional and non traditional Mexican snacks! They also have crepes and alcohol options! I will be back for sure! There is tons of parking which is great especially because street parking in the area is few to none. Love this place.

I saw Yoyo's vending at one of the West Oakland / Prescott night markets, so I decided to try their strawberry horchata, 24oz, which cost $10. It mostly just tasted like horchata; there are actual strawberry pieces in it which I appreciated it, but overall I wanted the strawberry flavor to be a little more prominent and the price was a little on the high side for a drink.

10/10 on the aguas frescas. Came back the next day and tried the frescandia y pepino agua fresca. Very refreshing!!

I happened to stumble upon Yoyo's Botaneria as I was picking up Chai Thai on the same block. Place looked very inviting with outdoor seating, bright and welcoming interior. This first visit I decided to get a mango-passionfruit agua fresca...refreshing on a hot day but a tad sweet (for me) so let the ice melt a bit. Nevertheless, delicious. Yo-yo's Botaneria offers varies sweet and savory snacks with their popular items: YUCATECAN MARQUESITAS - Mexican crepe, filled with different sweet fillings, including condensed milk or queso de bola (edam cheese) and rolled. EMPAPELADOS - protein (shrimp, bacon, asada, chorizo or veggie) on a base of corn, mayonnaise, cotija cheese, butter, lime, salsa macha. NOTE: If you have a nut allergy, they have a salsa macha using peanuts vs pepitas. This Mexican condiment is spicy, smoky, nutty made with a base of oil, dried chilies, garlic, and salt. Items I'll need to try next time along with their strawberry horchata! The gentleman at the counter was truly helpful, friendly and patient explaining their offerings. They've been at the new location on Mission for about 3 months moving from a kitchen incubator located on E14th. Now they have their own brick-and-mortar in a beautiful space. Plenty of indoor and outdoor (some shaded) seating with a private lot and street parking. Great spot to enjoy your treats with this warm weather.

So you know when you have those moments when you are exposed to something new and you think, where has this been all my life? That just happened to me here at Yoyo's. First, the place is so cute, bright and fresh. The decor is adorable! They have a great patio for a sunny day. I ordered the pineapple guava Agua fresco and it was really good. Then I had the Camarones Empapolado. It was rich in flavor with plenty of mushrooms, peppers, shrimp and corn - topped with mayo and cotija cheese. Lastly I had to have a marquesita with strawberries and Nutella. I was so quick to get into that that I forgot to take a picture. The service was great! Super friendly. I cannot wait to come back and try all the other things on the menu, especially the different micheladas.

Found this place through TikTok! When social media leads you to great places! Yay. We came to try their Marquesitas & then also tried their Fresada. I will admit that the Fresada was not my favorite. It was a bit sour and just didn't hit the right spot for me. The Marquesita was great! Mine, somehow, was a bit crunchier than the other person who I was with. Not a big deal but I just had to be more careful. This place is really cute, it's pretty spacious. They have some outdoor seating & will bring you your order. They also give you the Marquestias in these cute ceramic containers. The presentation is great. I didn't have a chance to interact much with the staff, but the cashier left a great impression. She was kind and welcoming. She helped us figure out what we wanted and made sure we really knew what each item was. This was a great experience and i'm so happy to see their business thriving and flourishing!

Wanted something sweet and found this place on yelp. Not busy when we came in and it was clean and cute, all the staff were very nice especially the cashier. I asked about the Marquesitas and he said that they ran out of strawberries so he gave me other suggestions and I ended up getting one with nutella and banana, and my fiancé got the guava pineapple agua fresca. I thought the marquesita was just gonna be a crepe rolled up but it tasted a little different and the texture was crunchy (be careful i accidentally cut the roof of my mouth) but it was still good, I think next time I wanna try one with the cheese because it was very similar to a crepe but crunchy. The guava drink was so good too, we would definitely come back and try some other things on the menu.

The meat, mushroom& corn dish. So delicious!!!

Tasty food items. Highly recommend the meat& corn dish, so yummy. Nutella & banana, can't go wrong. Ultra clean & modern looking. Friendly service.

I've normally intended to write a review but my food gets swallowed up before I get the chance to remember! This place is good vibes! Mexican bachata music jamming typically! At this moment, it's "Bailando Bachata" by Chayanne. To thrive as a snack spot in these parts where there are also nearby botanerias is amazing. There are plants and decor that make you want to stay and dine in. They also have an outdoor space where a DJ has come by to set the mood! Tip! Please do yourself a favor and go to the salsa bar and try out those toppings to add a little bit of crunch or spice to your savory snacks! I love the pumpkin seed salsa macha (I think it's called)!!! They take and deliver your orders with a kind smile. It's hard to resist Yoyo's! My faves: -Rusa Preparada (grapefruit drink with chamoy on the side) -Piña Guava (another refreshing drink) -Empapelados (shrimp or veggie)

Love this place but the hot Cheeto esquite bowl had barely any corn in it ): and the nachos bowl could have way more cheese in it too):

Hands down they have the best drinks, cookies, macarons, cakes, and now salt bread! I've brought friends visiting the Bay Area to this bakery, which they have loved. Always Yours also has fun cup sleeve events, macaron classes and afternoon tea from time to time. We love supporting small businesses and this one is definitely worth supporting! P.S. with all these drink places popping up in the area...we still think the drinks at Always Yours not only taste better, but also are of higher quality.

We heard that there had been some long lines recently and that the bread can sell out fast, so he went ahead of me to get in line before they opened, but he said there actually wasn't a line this time. We went on a Sunday afternoon and got two each of the regular and chili oil scallion breads. Once I got to the cafe, I ordered the banana pudding matcha latte. We sat on the bench outside to eat our bread and noticed that it tasted just a *little* like it had been sitting out for a while. I wouldn't describe it as stale, it just didn't have as soft a texture as we expected. However, it tasted absolutely delicious. I'd recommend getting both flavors if you can. The chili oil one wasn't spicy, in my opinion, it just had a kick of chili flavor. The banana pudding matcha latte was a little less successful. The pudding was great, but it just sat on top of the drink. When I mixed it into the matcha, it still wasn't coming through very strong and the drink tasted almost entirely of matcha. It was disappointing because I love banana so much. I think I'd be better off just ordering the banana pudding in the future. I'd like to come back here on a Saturday to see if the bread is a bit fresher, and I'd order the banana pudding rather than the latte.

Situated in a shopping mall along a main road, Nobibi benefits from an abundance of parking spots and complements the coffee drinkers for their afternoon pick up from the nearby coffee shop. Mainly known for the soft serve but also making boba drinks, Nobibi brings in locals and commuters as well as those afar looking for some tasty dessert with the looks, flavors, and textures to imprint a memory for future cravings. We came in specifically for their soft serve and based on our search, Nobibi was one of the only spots that offered both "ice cream" and boba in one serving. While the ingredients that come together for their soft serve desserts are pretty simple and easy to get yourself, getting them separately and in short notice is challenging. And a soft serve spot where the machine isn't broken is rare based on our experiences with the likes of the fast food joints that serve them. Each of their soft serve cups come with a bed of corn flakes on the bottom providing a decent crunch with each bite, the soft serve which can come in vanilla or mango flavor, the toppings and finally the drizzle of caramel, strawberry, and chocolate sauce to meld it altogether. If you're looking for something simple, they also have just their soft serve on cones without all the hoopla, what's the fun in that? We got three soft serve cups to try: Brown Sugar Boba - a sweet concoction with brown sugar drizzle and boba for that added chewy texture. The boba was a bit too soggy for me and I would have preferred a bouncier profile, but it did satisfy the craving nonetheless. Strawberry Blush - fresh strawberry with strawberry sauce on top of vanilla soft serve and speared with a couple strawberry pocky sticks. For the strawberry fan, this will satisfy you completely! Dalgona Coffee - whipped coffee topped on vanilla soft serve offering a rich coffee dessert for those needing a caffeine boost (they also have decaf). We were able to enjoy our treats comfortably in the well lit and ventilated dining space. The staff were friendly and quick in service. The place was also relatively clean and quiet making it a perfect spot for camping out and getting some work or studying done (they have complimentary wifi). Overall, Nobibi fills a gap for that soft serve craving with their exceptional quality frozen dessert and providing eye candy for those wanting to capture the sweet, beautiful moment. The price is reasonable for the amount you get and the variety of ingredients in each cup. They have a decent amount of churn which encourages a cycling of fresh toppings but what could have been an X factor to give them a competitive edge against other milk tea shops, the boba missed the mark for me. I look forward to coming back to try the rest of their offerings but for now, hope you all get a good taste!

The Castro Valley one is super tiny, no indoor seating and really only enough room for about 2-3 people to line up to order for the inside. It's a bit too tight in there for me. They do mostly Asian inspired pastries, mostly using croissant dough in all kinds of creative shapes and sizes. Even though many things don't fit my preference as I'm not big on savory pastries or ones that have meat in them, they do make some attractive and unique looking pastries. So I get it, why people line up for this. But I have tried several sweet type pastries and here are some notes. Custard Tart ($4/5*) Probably one of the best egg/custard tarts I've ever had. This is one of the simpler things in their display case. This is literally a flaky pastry and a well made custard filling. Most everything else in that display case is 2-3 times bigger and much more going on with fillings and decorations. I like simple pastries so this hit on my sensibilities big time. The custard was smooth and not too sweet, very Asian in sweetness. And the best part was the crust, it was so flaky, light and buttery. 10 times better than any egg tart I've had a Chinese or Portuguese bakery. Almond Danish ($7.50/3.5*) This is one of their more elaborate creations, even tho this is somewhat simpler than many other pastries they have. But this name doesn't really correlate with what I tasted, there is a lot more going on. The pastry part is in the shape of a muffin, but the texture is flaky like a croissant, maybe slightly more dense than a croissant. Then there may be a small amount of almond paste in the middle, but there were a lot more of this coffee cream. This was too big for me to eat in one sitting so I split it in half. It was decent but it definitely isn't an Almond Danish. Lol Strawberry Croffle ($5/5*) I love true Belgian/Liege waffles made with a yeasted dough but cooked til crisp in a cast iron waffle press. Not sure if this is Liege style but it carried a lot of the characteristics of one. Crisp from caramelized sugar being cooked in the exterior, nice chew in the center and garnished simply with a strawberry cream. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Cold Brew ($4.25/3.5*) I didn't love it, but it wasn't bad. It tasted better if drunk with one of their pastries. Alone I wouldn't do it again. But as a companion with a pastry, sure. I'll round to a fiver cuz service is usually pretty nice and efficient. And even tho 75% of the things here are too busy and complicated for me, the simple things I have tried, really schmacks. So a fandom has formed.

Someone came out with our food and I sent our payment via Venmo. Husband and I got the sandwich, two iced coffees, corn, large salad and it was DELICIOUS. The portions are pretty substantial and I think a small salad would have sufficed. Will definitely be back!

I called to place order. Got a recording. Got a return call confirming my order. Found it's better to text with C6 or F7 unless one can speak Vietnamese. Main associate lacks English proficiency. Much easier for her to get "code" Place was an easy find. Street parking slightly difficult. Unknown if parking in their lot is permissible. Went towards big building on the right . Found unit with "Taste of Asia" brochure on window. Just before the gate. Bingo! Stood in front of open door until Vietnamese lady came out with my order. $21 cash. Unknown if Zelle has tax added to it. Tipped a little. Lady hesitated to give change. Offerings (Vietnamese): street food, drinks, coffee. Sips: Cafe Muoi Bien (sea salt foam Vietnamese coffee, 7)-Viet coffee, sea salt foam, condensed milk. -coffee didn't look full. No doubt foam on top shrank/mixed into coffee. -bold coffee with alternating sweet & salty tastes depending on sipping foam or condensed milk. Bites: Banh Trang Cuon (Vietnamese Special roll, 14). There's also a salad version with same ingredients & no wrapping. -dipping sauce had sweet & savory notes. -rice roll had dominant theme of beef jerky. The surrounding nuanced taste was a symphonic medley of carrots, quarter sectioned boiled eggs, coriander, green mango, dried shrimp, fried onions, peanuts & green mangos, 5 stars Worthy! Quality: freshly premade. Quantiy: ample enough for a meal. Would repeat. *Taste of Asia "passport" given to win prizes from buying from food vendors in Oakland Chinatown & San Leandro Asian businesses. I finally had some down time to stop by on a Saturday lunch, and it was pretty empty since I visited during Ramadan. But the man working behind the counter was so friendly and patient with me. I literally felt like my stomach was bigger than my eyes, I wanted to try everything. But got a few chocolate covered goodies from kunafa to dates to regular dark chocolate for me and my coworkers. EVERYBODY loved it. My favorite hands down was the chocolate covered date. You HAVE to get that one. I only got a single, but I wish I got like five. You can also pick and choose and they provide you a little baggie to put them all in. They also sell turkish delight which he cuts for you by hand. I really enjoyed the pomegranate one as a nut-allergy girlie. The rose water was a little too rose-y for me. Too floral, it tasted like the smell of a grandma with her potpourri. They also sell nuts and other goodies like Palestinian ceramics. I had to get myself a Falasteeni ceramic magnet. It was so beautiful, painted with olives all over. Zaytoun aesthetic! Will def be back to calm my sweet tooth. And always, free Palestine!
