I originally called back in November (2016) and was told Russ was out of town and I'd hear back once he returned. Come a month later (December), I had heard nothing. So, I call again and was told the exact same thing. That's fine, long vacations are great. I wish I could take one. After January (2017) had come and gone - as well as February - I called yet another time (March) to be told once again that Russ would give me a call back soon. That was over a week ago, and still no phone call. I get the same response each time I call and at this point it just sounds disingenuous. Which is really too bad because this company came recommended by a few people and I was excited to work with them. My honest opinion at this point is that calling Desert Discount Tree Care is a waste of time.

He then got back to me upon learning my address, and told me that he could squeeze me in for my relatively small tree after a job he had in the neighborhood. His communication leading up to the appointment was fantastic, and his demeanor very professional. He and his guys did a great job on my Honey Mesquitte, and were cleaned up and out of here within about an hour. I'll definitely be giving Mike a call next season to do the routine maintenance on the rest of the trees in my yard.

I don't generally write reviews, unless the service is exceptional. And, that is exactly what Mike…read moreMacchiaroli Tree Company is--exceptional! We had four of our large trees trimmed with Mike this summer (August 2019): two large Mesquites and two medium/large Palo Verde trees. I was very nervous about hiring somebody to trim our Mesquite trees because a couple of years ago my husband hired some guys based solely on the cheapest price and they completely butchered one of our mesquite trees which resulted in a lopsided mess that I am surprised the tree survived. The old adage "you get what you pay for" is definitely true. Needless to say, I did not have them touch any other trees on our property. So, although our trees were now seriously overgrown and monsoon season was upon us, I was really hesitant to have that tree and our others trimmed. I didn't want to make the same mistake again. So, I convinced my husband to pay more and hire a tree specialist. I mean it is not a wise investment to spend 15 years growing a tree only to have it hacked to pieces because it is momentarily less expensive. In the long run, trees are valuable assets of your home and it is really worth spending more to get someone who truly knows what they are doing. I did my research on Angie's List, Yelp and NextDoor. That led me to Mike Macchiaroli Tree Company. He had other great reviews and plenty of "before" and "after" photos in which I could see that the trees still looked like trees afterwards. I had Mike and a couple of other companies come out to give me bids on the project. Mike was not cheap or the cheapest by any means, but he really knew what he was talking about when we walked our yard looking at the trees and I decided to go with him. I am so happy that I did. I can honestly say that Mike Macchiaroli is a true craftsman/arborist. He really knows his trees. He even made my large lopsided, previously-butchered tree come back to life. It is finally starting to look like a normal, healthy tree again. All of our trees look beautiful! They are healthy and thriving. I am sooooo glad that I found Mike and that we used his service! I am including "before" and "after" photos of our trees so that you can see the end results and judge for yourselves. The photos helped me immensely when I was making my decision. I would highly recommend Mike Macchiaroli Tree Company.

But this year when Jack came out to trim my palms, he informed me that my very tall pine tree had died due to beetle infestation. I am on a fixed income since I retired and he quoted me such a good price for a very tall tree. Originally I was going to have him cut it down mid May, but because the weather was getting hotter, I decided to have him cut it down earlier. He came out yesterday and did a good job taking it down with minimal disruption to my neighbors. I am so happy it is gone because all the needles were clogging my pool vac and filter. I couldn't even tell the tree was there before because they spread my rocks over what used to be the base of the tree. They ground out the base and it was as flat as the surrounding area. I highly recommend Greenwood Tree Service to anyone who wants a fair price with exceptional quality service. I will be using them yearly for all my tree needs.
