I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with Backyard Superstore. My hot tub had problems immediately after installation, and I notified them right away while it was under warranty. Since then, it has been one excuse after another. Months of messages, delays, being passed between people, and trying to get them to simply honor the warranty and provide me with a fully working hot tub. Part of the repair was eventually completed, but the remaining issue has still not been resolved. A warranty is only as good as the company standing behind it. Based on my experience, Backyard Superstore has failed to do that. Buyer beware. I would not recommend doing business with this company. This review will remain up for as long as I am left without a fully working hot tub. If they honor their warranty and make this right, I will gladly update the review to reflect that. read more

I can say that I wish I would have done my due diligence, before doing business with Bruce Rothchild and the Backyard Superstore. He does not stand behind his products and completely ghosts you when an issue arises, including not answering his business phone during regular business hours. He sold me a $1650 + item along with my Doughboy pool that took it out of warranty, until I dismantled it. I now have my a salt cell chlorinator, less than a year old on market place at a major reduction. He refused to respond, even after getting my attorney to write a letter indicating there could be further consequences. He honestly thinks he's beyond the law or common sense customer service. That's still pending the direction of going. I can say that Doughboy has been amazing working with me, getting me an original pump back at no cost, including hoses, guiding me on how to cut my vacuum hole that wasn't cut out of the vinyl, getting my pool back into warranty, and some other guidance that was required. The pump was replaced the first month in, with a non brand pump by Bruce. Don't ignore the signs folks. Our investment is too high to deal with this type of customer service. read more

You can trust your business to Bruce! We bought our second jacuzzi from Bruce about 3 years ago. Our first one was over 15 years old and still going but we wanted to upgrade so decided to get a new one. We went with basically the same one as we were so pleased with our first. About a year ago, we had an issue with the cover and the manufacturer agreed to replace it. Long story short, when the manufacturer backed out, Bruce came through for us. We have found Backyard Superstore to be wonderful to work with. Rarely do you find a business where an owner stands behind his products. You won't go wrong buying from Bruce. We paid in full $5,500+ over a month ago - Bruce appeared real honorable - as of today, we cannot even get a phone call answered or returned to find our a delivery date. Come to find out the Better Business Bureau gave them an "F" rating. So very disappointed that we appear to have been scammed and will probably have to pursue this further legally. If I could give this business less than one star I would. Purchased a brand new spa from them and I paid for removal of the old spa. After a week or two three people came to hook it up they could not remove my old spa as they said they would so I had to cut my old spot up and bring it to the curb. I never asked for a refund on the extra money that I paid for them to take it away because they didn't do it I did it but I was nice enough to not ask for refund. A day later I Called them back to tell them the old spa was removed and they showed up 2 1/2 to 3 weeks later to install the new spa. once it was in place I warn them that it was a 220 line And not a 110 to be sure that they had the spa hooked up correctly. they hooked it up wrong three times as black smoke billowing out from underneath the spa that smelled like burned plastic. On their fourth attempt I told him do not touch it again I will call the owner of the company. I called him (Bruce)and he assured me that he would warranty my spa for double the manufactures warranty because of the problem. I told him I did not want to do that I wanted a new spa because I felt all the electronics In the spa Had been compromised and were currently damage because of being hooked up wrong three times and blowing both breakers in my house. He assured me he would take care of it. The manufactures warranty just ran out on my spa and so Did it. it stopped running about three months ago I contacted Bruce and he said he would repair it at no charge. Then he came back and said that he would charge me for labor because the pump would be the only thing that would be free even though he promised me to double the manufactures warranty which says one year parts and labor. Doubling that would mean two years parts and labor. So that should've been two years parts and labor with a double warrantee but he did not do that. Now it has been three months I call him every day to ask him when he's coming to fix my spa and he keeps making up stories that the company has not sent him the replacement parts. He told me over two months ago he would be here to repair my spa then he called me that morning to tell me that the truck broke down and my pump didn't make it. I replied where is the truck that broke down I will drive to it and get the pump so that we can get this fixed he said I couldn't do that. Then he told me two weeks ago that my pump was in and he was waiting for my control panel then when I talk to him on Sunday he told me when the Pump comes in I will get a hold of you which means he lied to me. I Recently Had hip replacement surgery and my physical therapist tells me the hot tub would be a perfect place to go to soothe my aching muscles from physical therapy but all my calls and all my text messages have added up to nothing. I still have no date when the hot tub will be repaired and no correspondence in the last two days. I would never purchase another thing from this company unless he makes this right. If this is made right I will take this comment down if not this, can stay up forever for all I care I would never treat a person like this that I do business with ever I have been more than patient and now I have had it I will be at small claims court tomorrow at 1 o'clock to file charges against him and his company. All of the plugs underneath the hot tub or melted as well as all the ground wires from when they hooked it up wrong I will not be happy until I get a brand new hot tub now or have all the electrical components replaced hot tub should be installed by a professional electricians with the license not three men and a truck. This business Your Backyard Superstore in Melbourne FL. is a disaster!!!! I ordered a hot tub back on February13.I was promised a delivery in 4-5 weeks and paid in full on that day. My wife called and they said they were getting in on Friday April 7 and they could install it that Sunday April 9. Sunday came and went without a phone call or anything for that matter. We called the store for the next few days and got only an answering machine[like they were screening our calls]. I finally called American Express and they put a hold on the transaction and got my money back[thank God] I will tell everybody in Vero beach to never do business with these #&%* people!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Scheduled tech for spa timer repair. $150 to show up and tell me timer is disconnected. Said it must be broken since its disconnected. Okay not a problem get me a new timer. He ordered a replacement timer and delivered it to the house a few weeks later and said he can't install it. $300 for timer. He did give me an electrician phone number to call because this Technician from the spa store isn't qualified for electrical work. Electrician came a month later and said the timer provided would not work. For the next four months I tried to get a replacement timer from this spa store. I was told I had to talk to Bruce about getting correct timer. Five months later I finally talked to Bruce. He said timer is over a week old and they can't exchange it. Bruce was the only one that can make a decision and he wasn't available and doesn't return phone calls. The lady in the showroom is powerless. Three times in the store the lady asked me to text Bruce pictures. I did. Bruce didn't respond. Looked up original timer model numbering Amazon. Ordered on Amazon. Timer came in three days. Called another electrician who installed it the next day. read more

This review is based on the customer service received from Bruce and NOT the service call. The service call which was performed by "Pete" was great although $150 per hour is a bit outrageous. I had a burnt up board to the Heater that needed to be replaced. All the of phone calls and visits leading up to this simple and quick repair WAS SO AWFUL I feel compelled to warn others!!! The story....I had a handle that broke off to the fountain in my Envoy Hot Springs Spa. I took the broken handle and a photo of the receptacle it came off of to Bruce at the store on New Haven. He ordered the part for me and was NOT going to give me a receipt for it but I insisted SINCE he seems to forget a lot. I was in the store months earlier to order a simple jet and he never called me back...EVER. Thank god I got a receipt.....long story short it took several phone calls and reminders to get him to order the part. Long story short...the part he ordered for me took A MONTH to get in AND IT WAS THE WRONG PART! And that's after several phone calls to "remind" him....and he even gave me an attitude when I demanded a tracking number because I couldn't understand why UPS would take 3 weeks to ship. And when I did get the tracking number (again...several phone calls to get that) I looked it up and it had just shipped....not shipped on the date he told me (as I suspected). The service guy, Pete, said I only needed a 2 dollar part....which I could have put on myself easily and not have had to pay the $150/hour. Guess how many phone calls it took to get THAT part?? UGH!! And again...he told me UPS shipped it out on a Saturday from with the same town...and a week later I don't get it? So again...I demanded a tracking number....never heard back from him of course. Then...this young girl in her own beat up personal vehicle comes to my house and shoves something in one of my flower pots. I know this because I have surveillance cameras. I look in the flower pot and GUESS WHAT?? My part! So just for giggles I call back Bruce for the tracking number from UPS for my handle that HE SAID shipped last Saturday and he dances around the answer but then tells me he had "someone" drop it off and it's in one of my flower pots. NOW...it was a good thing I called him because...you guessed it....he would have SLIPPED HIS MIND AGAIN! The only thing good that came out of the simple $2 dollar part replacement is the fact that while waiting for the "wrong part" to come in...my heater stopped working. I demanded to speak directly to the service guy (which took several phone calls AGAIN for Bruce to remember to have him call me) and told him what was happening. He brought the replacement part and fixed it on the spot. I will NEVER step inside that store again. This guy should NOT be in business. read more

Purchased a $11,000 hot tub from Your Backyard Superstore on 12/20/2017. Bruce assured my wife and I there would be no loss of power by switching the tub from 220V to 110V. Tub was installed on 12/23/2017. On 12/24/2017 I started ongoing communications with Chad the installer from PEACEFUL SPAS that there were serious issues with the tub. The installer did not come evaluate the tub until 1/15/2018. It was at that time he stated the tubs 2nd Blower was removed from the tub during the 110V conversion. This was NEVER related to us by Bruce before the purchase! Made several calls to the store with NO return phone call from the owner. Made agreement with assistant at the store to come install the 2nd Blower back into the tub and change to 220V at an additional cost. As of 2/11/2018 the installer has set three (3) appointments (one of which I took vacation from work to accommodate) and did not show for any of them. Additionally, he did not call, nor text to state he would not be there. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH BRUCE @ Your Backyard Superstore. They obviously do not stand behind their products and have shady sales practices. My next phone call is to my attorney. read more

We purchased a spa less than 2 years ago for around $7,500 . The ACE salt system treatment cell has already failed and this local dealer replaced it at a cost to us of over $1,100! How can this last only two years and have a cost of that much? Our salt in ground pool's cell is much less cost to replace and lasts at least 5 years. These guys overcharge and cannot provide service in a timely manor. Very dissatisfied. read more

We purchased a new spa from them 2 weeks ago. We had it delivered and since we have had the spa it has not worked. The speaker system on it never workerd from the beging and they finally came and fixed it yesterday. Then controller is also broken and they have not responed to my calls to come fix it. We have tried to return the spa and he is refusing to give me a refund. even if I have to pay the restocking fee ibwill not mind. He refuses to return my call and said he doesn't give refunds. Non where in the contract does it say no refund. Very unsatisfied with their busniess and how they respond to their customers. read more
