I purchased new tires here that amounted to be $1500 they messed up the valve stem in the tire and denied ever doing any damage when i called they hung up the phone on me, when i brought the car to the shop they turned me away if you love throwing away your hard earned money to some uneducated backyard mechanics this place is for you!! Went here on a Saturday afternoon and it's great they are open until 5pm unlike most other car shops. Be warned though. If you don't make your appointment online or over the phone a few days before the weekend, you may be out of luck since they're pretty booked by the weekend. Full synthetic oil change took less than 1 hour and they were flexible with my appt since I called and said I would be an hour late to my appt. Total came to around $70 for a full synthetic oil/filter change but they also have coupons online and in their flyers for $10 off which made this one of the cheapest and quickest places to get a job like that done. The waiting room was comfortable, free wifi, and free drinks (coffee, water, tea) for people to enjoy in there. All in all, a good experience and price that is hard to bear for any of your car needs! read more

my daughter was in town visiting friends and got a low pressure alert, we called and the tech we spoke with said send her over they would take a look, she got over there and they were able to determine that the issue was due to cool weather and checked the pressure on all the other tires , topped her off with air and sent her on her way with out charging her anything!! thanks so much for taking care of a young woman and making sure she was safe on the road! read more

Absolutely the worst service I have EVER had in the area. We purchased 4 tires off of the Goodyear website and had them shipped to Young to be installed (included in the tire price). As we were waiting, we received a call that they were struggling to get our valve stem caps off (which we know people have struggled with before). We were then quoted $93/tire to replace the sensor or have a plastic one placed which will leave the tire light pressure on continuously. We opted to take the tires home (which we were refused even though they were already loaded in our vehicle) to have them placed by a local shop closer to home. As we were traveling home (30 miles away mind you), our rear passenger tire completely stopped reading any pressure (even though it worked just fine before going to the shop) only to find out they completely destroyed the valve stem and broke it. Metal and plastic are completely shown. Upon calling the shop, I was screamed at, belittled by a grown man, and told they have zero responsibility on fixing the issue they caused. I WILL not be recommending this shop to ANYONE and will gladly tell people to steer clear away. Disrespectful staff and poor customer service. read more

My car was not fixable, but they let me leave it in their lot for weeks as I tried to figure out what to do with it, and then they helped me load it onto a trailer, which was a difficult task even with 4 people, and on a hot day too. They are so nice and have great customer service! read more

They've never tried to sell me something I didn't need and they explain everything really well to people like me who don't know much about cars. Can't even begin to say enough about this place I brought 3 vehicles in from a brutal winter they got them in fixed all the issues each one had were good at communicating what each car needed prior to fixing they saved me money in the long run. We are so happy to have Youngstedts down the street from us. Jim has been beyond helpful, informative, and patient with ever issue that's come up. He has drawn me up several quotes (he's patient, remember?), outfitted us with tires, and generally been very reassuring and honest when it comes to our vehicles. I know when I walk in-or if I give him a call, he is going to help me in a way that is personal, compassionate, and straightforward. Not happy. I have done a lot of service work here in the past and have always been pleased with their work and honesty. Today we stopped for a slow leak in a tire. Was told it was a "thin nail" in sidewall (or very close). Wanted me to buy four new tires(so they match) for $800 minus a small hazard credit on one tire. Found myself in a situation in which I realized I had to replace my two rear tires before driving any further. The front two tires were about a year old and were in fine condition. The rear two tires had worn to the point where the metal belt was showing through. Upon asking for a quote to replace the two rear tires, I was told that because my car is AWD, replacing two tires would cause an uneven distribution on the differential creating a dangerous situation. Due to this, they wouldn't even offer me a quote of anything less that a replacement of all four tires. What a line of BS. Replacing two tires is fine - their competitor down the road was happy to offer their services on replacing only two tires with not even a mention of any need for four tires. If you want to maximize your bill, this is the place. read more

I can't speak highly enough of the crew at Youngstedt's Mall Drive location in Eau Claire. My husband was two hours away from home on his way back from a roadtrip and had car trouble. We are Youngstedt's customers in the Twin Cities, and I was relieved to see a name I could trust. After dropping his car in Eau Claire and getting him home, we got a call promptly the next morning and updates throughout the day as the shop diagnosed the problem. Since we were so far away - they could have taken us for anything - a new transmission, new alternator, you name it. Youngstedt's was honest about the repairs - turns out it was spark plugs and an air filter. Maintenance that was due in 10,000 miles, but advanced because of the weather conditions in a Midwest snowstorm. We were well on our way less than 24 hours after the car trouble, the repairs were quick, honest, and thorough (three test drives and they showed us the parts that were replaced), and they not only earned our business, they earned our trust. We were broke down at 545 pm on a Friday night and every place we called said maybe we can get you in tomorrow. We were 45 min from home another 70 min to go carrying our boat and running out of options. They said bring it over and when we arrived they had the part needed being delivered and got us in right away! We were back on the road in less than 30 minutes! I brought our older car here to have it checked out before our daughter drove to Denver for a new job there. They said it had no coolant in it and the radiator needed to be replaced (and the AC condenser too); it was pricey. I wanted to think about it, so I just had them add some coolant to it (top off they said) and brought it home. I thought it was odd that we had never seen the coolant light go on if so much coolant had actually drained out of it. So just to be sure, the next day, I brought it to a place recommended by a friend. He did a pressure check and inspection and found nothing wrong with the radiator except a small problem with the cap which he replaced for $10. And, the radiator was still full that next day with no leakage showing under the car, so it couldn't be leaking very quickly. (However, the AC condenser did have some significant wear on it, so Youngstedts was accurate about that.) From all appearances, Youngstedts was trying to have work done that wasn't needed. (Also, I thought they charged a bit much just to look at the car and add some coolant.) We won't bring anything there again. Beware! read more

Sent my wife there for them to replace a brake light switch, or possibly a fuse because our Explorer wouldn't shift out of park. We were actually able to override the problem by pulling off the center console and pulling a lever that allowed us to put the car in gear. We researched the issue prior to bringing our truck in to their shop, and it's COMMON KNOWLEDGE that it's a brake light switch or fuse. They overpriced the switch by $40 (And $58 is the highest price I saw online) we paid $100. I'm fine with that as many shops mark up parts to cover cost, but the real problem I have is that they charged her $48 dollars for a engine diagnostic test that we didn't needs, as we knew by doing our own research it was the brake light switch, or maybe a fuse. We also DON'T have any CHECK ENGINE lights on. I called the shop and asked politely why we were charged for a test that we didn't need, but was immediately shut down by Kevin the shop guy. He doubled down on their frivolous charges even though he knew that it was wrong. We thought we had found our auto shop for the future, but instead we were let down. Just sad and pathetic that a small business would betray the trust of their customers for $50. All in all we paid $200 for a job that usually cost $120 (check Google) Be warned as I believe that they treated her that way because she is a woman... read more
